Well done Em. I'm so pleased Catface isn't freaked out.

CollieBobs · 28/09/2017 18:52

Nice one em

DH has started a little MB group amongst his mates. They're all doing and learning off each other. Hopefully it won't take long for DH to earn a few £££. He just wants to reach £200. A nice goal.

mammymammyIRL · 28/09/2017 18:54

Collie that would be a lovely pot of money 💰

mammymammyIRL · 28/09/2017 19:21

Went for my last paid laser underarm treatment this evening. I was hungry I resisted subway, then considered a portion of home made chips & instead got to car had a banana & going home to make my dinner now instead Smile consoled myself that I'll be eating out for next two days so tonight really would have been a waste of money

MeadowHay · 28/09/2017 19:40

Hi!

I can't keep up anymore sorry but will try and pop in when I can.

Em Well done on your first day with out DH. You seem to be doing excellent although I guess I don't really know anything about being a parent to a newborn!

Today I spent 70p on a can of pop at lunch but that's all so LSD. On the downside, DH rang our previous letting agents to see why they haven't returned our £750 deposit and got told that they were too busy at the moment and we should call back in a few WEEKS. Our tenancy ended over a month ago!! I told him to call back next week to get the details of what deposit protection scheme the deposit is in because they actually never told us (which is illegal) and once I managed to find it myself online so I know it definitely is in one, but now I've searched them all and can't find it, so I'm wondering whether there was a misspelling that I worked out ages ago but now can't remember. Silly that I didn't make a note of it but it's their legal duty to provide us with that information soon after entering the tenancy. If they don't tell us then we will be issuing court proceedings but hopefully it won't come to that! Bloody fuming at the cheeky bastards. Angry

Still no sign of start date for DH's job either. Sigh.

Tesco has big packs of maoams (pinballs, stripes and others) all reduced to 25/30p today so I stocked up Blush also bought cat food so spend about £6.

mammymammyIRL · 28/09/2017 19:56

Meadow that's crazy, they're just hoping you won't bother chasing them for it really aren't they?

mammymammyIRL · 28/09/2017 19:57

Wreck I couldn't keep a stock of them I'd eat them all!!

mammymammyIRL · 28/09/2017 20:03

Thought I'd lured another poster over here thread anyone else hate payday but no sign Sad

AdoraBell · 28/09/2017 20:21

NSD for me, DH bought me lunch.

I ordered a pair of suede peep toe shoes, Clarks, and have messed up the paperwork. Far too late send them back. If anyone is interested I'd be happy to post them. I'll post a pick.

Meadow I would call them daily. Don't let them fob you of with being busy.

WreckTangled · 28/09/2017 20:37

Ooo they're nice adora no good for me but I'm sure someone will snap them up.

I really need to make some kind of spreadsheet for my MB as I have no idea how much I'm making Blush (hopefully I am making and not losing)

ememem84 · 28/09/2017 20:38

meadow neither do I really...I'm just winging it!

That's annoying re the deposit. I didn't realise there was more than one scheme. We've used one at work for uk properties we look after and it took 21 days to get the money back. The one we used (the name of which escapes me) also takes a £21 admin charge away.

Keep chasing them. Every other day email. And follow up with calls on the "other" days. That's way too much cash to just let go!

Had another cry when dh came home. Post box was full. And more flowers were sent. Ds is now the proud owner of a lovely gift basket with a bouquet of sock flowers, a beautiful pram suit from jojo maman (which needs to be changed as is too big for him 6-9 months so it won't fit him until summer), some toys and rattles and a bunch of gift cards. Dh's work gave us a £300 voucher for jojo. So generous. So kind.

WreckTangled · 28/09/2017 20:42

That's lovely em! I had similar with my dc. People meaning well and buying in bigger sizes but then getting out of season stuff!

AdoraBell · 28/09/2017 20:44

em winging it is the best any of us can manage with a first baby, you're doing a fantastic job 👍

Cagliostro · 28/09/2017 20:46

Aw that's lovely em! And well done for today, first day alone with baby is a big milestone Thanks

Meadow what a nightmare, I agree keep bugging them. We lost our deposit for our previous place as the LLs lied and lied (for example saying we didn't maintain the garden, when actually their useless fuckwit of a handyman never actually DID the garden in the first place Hmm) so I'm glad the protection scheme has come into existence since. But not sure if it counts for us as we moved here before it began.

Found out today that GD tends to get worse in the last few weeks of pregnancy so I shouldn't be complacent about my good numbers. Also if I do end up medicated and therefore induced at 38 weeks, she will be here in a month!!! Shock

ChristmasSeacow · 28/09/2017 21:38

Meadow if you are sending them letters about your deposit you should mention your law degree 😉

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/09/2017 22:18

My dh is done with all his interviews now and is home, and so high on adrenaline, it's weird. It makes me realise how hard ds is working at school as that is what the school does to him all the time. Hoping that dh will come back to earth, and that the effect of being hired by one of these companies will not be that he is now permanently wired.

Laska he really like your pompom dance of encouragement. Thanks!

needastrongone · 28/09/2017 22:24

Phew. I've done it, got through the last few days. Just tomorrow to get the box packed up and sorted for DH and DD for the last competition of the series. It's been a tricky few days in terms of how busy life has been. Done now. Out until 20 minutes ago at last minute pony training which I could have done without (another late night) but hey ho.

Em You are doing so brilliantly well with DS. Babies have got their own unique personalities of course, but I do reckon that the more relaxed you are with them can definitely make a difference too. You seem so calm with him, he's bound to be chilled out!

Fluffy Wine? I thought you had gone virtually tee total? We have to pay, wherever the university is located, living in England.

Collie Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow.

Lovely surprise Cag.

I will have missed loads, but I think I can keep up from tomorrow. This week has been great, but I wouldn't want every week to be as crazy busy as this one has!! Still, all good.

I'll post spends tomorrow as I need to update them myself.

needastrongone · 28/09/2017 22:27

Sunny That might explain my own DH for the last 20 years then GrinGrin He's permanently wired, permanently works and permanently travels!! Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/09/2017 22:43

Hi all, late pop in as super busy day.

Worked all day and then had to take boy cat to the vets as he keeps being sick, vet didn't seem to think there was much to worry about but gave him two injections anyway Hmm only charged £22 though and he seems totally fine now!

Dd had a meltdown tonight, think she is overwhelmed by the busyness of school. I let her scream for a bit and then sat with her while she calmed down, we watched a film and chilled for rest of the evening. Sometimes they just need that release!

Em I wouldn't be too hasty returning stuff that looks big, i know new borns look tiny but they grow really quick Grin It may fit him feb/march/april next year plus baby sizing is so hit n miss some stuff is loads bigger or smaller than the age it says.

AdoraBell · 28/09/2017 22:52

My DH is very similar. He's currently away sailing, it's the only thing that relaxes him so he's doing a yacht delivery.

ChristmasSeacow · 28/09/2017 23:10

Em I found with things like snowsuits it was easier to size up when they were little as it is quite fiddly shoving their limbs into padded sleeves /legs. And as they are not walking it doesn't much matter to them if they are a bit swamped.

Also a word to the wise about jojo - I found their clothes (I mostly bought tops) came up very small. DS was only 25th centile but usually had to wear the next size up in order to get more than 2 wears out of everything. I just mention it in case you are tempted to buy ahead with your generous voucher!
