I'm a nurse that does sound a bit infected Laska but if its just localised and there isn't any redness tracking anywhere it will probably be o.kay to just wash and keep clean. Good in a way that it did pop as that will get all the crap out (technical term Grin ) If it doesn't start to heal up, the redness or swelling gets worse or if you feel generally unwell (get a temp etc) then see your Dr or a practice nurse.

Kids are always like that if they have had to be good for a bit Sunny its like they have to bottle in any negative feelings and then let them out when they can. Dd is like that after school Hmm Your poor dh he must be totally knackered, good that he felt it went well though.

Good luck tomos Collie you will be fine, remember if you get brain freeze when they ask you something don't rush an answer just say 'let me think about that for a moment' I get so nervous in interviews and allowing myself a bit more time to answer really helps.

Have put dds name down for a hack over half term which will be £27 and have also offered her services as a helper which I think she will enjoy and its free!!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/09/2017 22:17

Christmas have you looked into local childminders? I have always used childminders as my main form of childcare and found it was def the best in terms of a slightly calmer more homely environment for dd. They also tend to be more flexible if you needed more or less childcare in a set period of time.If you are lucky you may even find one with some experience with caring for children with additional needs. Apologies if you have already considered it.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/09/2017 22:22

Sorry Christmas just reread your post and see you said there is a lack of availability of childminders Blush sorry I think I need to go to bed now!!

ChristmasSeacow · 27/09/2017 22:26

Mammy YES I AM. Can you hear me???Grin

Sunny we have discussed that briefly but DH really wouldn't enjoy it (lovely dad though he is). He is also totally lacking in domestic skills such as cooking. And general multi-tasking. If he was at home and I was working I'd still have to do more than my share of wife work, which would annoy the hell out of me. I will also find it easier to go back to work after a break than he would, for various reasons. But it is still a possibility if it's the only way to square things.

Glad your DH made it back okay. You survived! Sounds as though DS was on his best behaviour when it mattered but he is now releasing the pressure. That's more or less what my DS does after school (school say he's good as gold but then I get the meltdowns later). I think it's quite common for kids to do that.

Off to try putting toothpaste on my giant carbuncle. I've heard that helps.

ChristmasSeacow · 27/09/2017 22:38

Hi Girlie I checked the local register and apparently there is only one registered childminder who picks up from DS's school (2 form entry). That's it Shock. Really surprising as there is absolutely loads of demand. Other local schools seem to fare a bit better but there's still a huge capacity gap. There's a lot of moaning at the school gate about the situation. TBH I think those who would be interested don't have the space, those who have the space don't need the income (or have higher paying jobs anyway). And the 'free hours' is putting a lot of people off as in London it's not worth it for the remuneration they get.

But I agree it would have been a great option. Especially if I could have got someone to take DD for full days and then DS around school hours. It's the dream.

London is ridiculous sometimes Confused

I am not getting double posting on another thread btw - so weird!

northender · 27/09/2017 23:29

Thanks for the new thread. Marking my place, will catch up in the morning.

AdoraBell · 27/09/2017 23:39

About £6 on colouring books for DD2, she's getting anxious and needs the calming distraction.

Cagliostro · 27/09/2017 23:40

Not caught up with thread yet. Just got home feeling totally overwhelmed and very loved indeed. Dinner with friends wasn't dinner with friends, it was in fact a surprise baby shower 💕 Can't believe they did that and I had no clue! Sneaky people! And yes I did cry :o

ememem84 · 28/09/2017 00:15

pink oh I've had a cry...! Yesterday afternoon I cried. Just sat in/on bed sobbing. Dh was a bit concerned but I had to explain mid sob that I sas so happy to be home, so relieved everything/one was ok etc.

cag oh so nice!!!! Xx

Cagliostro · 28/09/2017 01:03

Collie good luck for tomorrow (errr today)!

Mammy I'll never forget when my milk first came in with DD, I thought the ceiling had sprung a leak as I felt dripping on my leg 😳😳😳

Nice to see you meadow!

Aw em I'm glad it was a happy relieved sort of cry. Hormone crash after birth is a crazy thing!

That's amazing about the CM shortage seacow :(

Sunny congrats on the Beavers promotion! And my DCs can be very similar in terms of holding it all together when needed but as soon as the pressure goes... argh. Like at the hospital the other week they were absolutely bloody brilliant for the 2 hour delay but the second we left the hospital... oh dear.

I feel totally wired and baby is wiggling like crazy anyway. Curled up on sofa with my duvet and Futurama on the telly.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/09/2017 06:31

Good luck today collie

Glad DH is Home sunny and good luck for his interview today. Congratulations on the beavers promotion and being frugal too, great

Good luck laska DS too

christmas such a hard dilemma for you with the childcare/work but things do tend to sort themselves out, not often how you expect. CM here are like gold dust too

Thanks for the advice of phase eight/Wallis. So as long as I like them, I won’t age myself. I did want some more grown up workwear. Phase eight dress is lovely, but may be too much for work but too worklike for occasionwear. I always feel better about myself if I make an effort rather than the just fallen out of bed look Blush

Right better get out of bed and go to work.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/09/2017 06:32

It’d be worrying if you haven’t had a cry em Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/09/2017 06:47

Good luck for today Collie. If you need to think about a question get a sip of water to buy you time.

Em you are doing fab. No one warned me about the 3 day crash. Luckily I was still in hospital and a lovely mid wife just hugged me while i weeped and wailed. Perfectly normal but a bit scary.

Hope the knee is a bit better today wreck.
Yes cag your could have sold them but life gets in the way. Don't be too hard on yourself. I've got a pile of stuff that I'm going to car boot for the last 3 years and never have.

Sorry if I miss anything else important

Pinkpeppermintteaforme · 28/09/2017 06:49

Awww em relieved is exactly how I felt and just looking at DD and her perfectness set me off !
Lots of snuggles and cake Cake should help.

Laska5772 · 28/09/2017 07:26

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/09/2017 07:42

Good luck with the interviews everyone. It's never something to look forward to is it?.

ememem84 · 28/09/2017 07:43

Catface has accepted ds as part of the crew. I've been awake with him since 530. Feed, realised he was a bit wet mid feed. Changed him. Just about to put new onesie on him and heard a squeaky noise from the nappy. He'd pooped. And it the marmite type either. Proper poop. As I was cleaning him up he did it again. Ffs. Literally as I was cleaning him dh wandered in (he'd slept in the spare room as he's going back to work today and I insisted he got a full nights sleep!)

Dh has made me a cuppa and brought it back to bed. Ds was happy sat on his daddy for a bit. I was enjoying my tea and catface hopped up and snuggled in. 🐈💙👶🏻💨👪

ememem84 · 28/09/2017 07:45

Good luck with interviews guys!

Should be nsd.
Dh spent £28 at the coop yesterday.

Fil gave us a £50 voucher for boots for ds and £50 to go in his bank account. For the moment I've allocatesnmy penny savings account to ds. Have transferred £50 from my account to that one and will keep the cash. Easier than trying to go into town to the bank to pay it in. Not venturing to the shops just yet.
