Yum to cinnamon buns

Spent £30 in Primark and £12 on Manuka Honey

needastrongone · 01/10/2017 20:27

girlie you did run, stop it!

I've escaped the the living room with a glass of red. I don't do no alcohol really.. Grin. I made a massive chicken roast for tea, everything from scratch. DH is clearing up and listening to the Foo's at full volume.. Smile

The competition was pretty much a wash out but DD's team actually won for the first time this season so she's got a bit trophy to keep until next year. Personally, I would have pulled our own pony out of the comp as I don't think it was safe but hey ho.

16 miles run and 4 miles with the dogs. I'm not great at chilling, I've done 41k steps today. I think i'm inherently wired to move. My issue, 'tis all. Done lots of washing, DD/DH brought a pile of soaked clothes back.

Em I still look at my DC at 16 and 18 and get a bit overwhelmed sometimes, that never stops. Happy birthday for tomorrow. The image of you airing your stitches is lingering btw..... Grin

NSD.

Cagliostro · 01/10/2017 20:45

:o tea tree oil in the bath is good for the stitches. I used to mix a few drops of that and lavender oil in a cup of milk (helps it mix better) then pour the milk into the bath as it ran. Comforting :)

Fantastic need well done to DD and the team!

Couldn't be bothered about Boots (the points offer is on for an extra day online but wasn't anything I particularly needed to make up the money)

Good call on the clubcard vouchers I'll definitely think about that!

No idea what to have for dinner myself Hmm

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/10/2017 20:46

Popping in after a hectic day for ds. Footy this morning and his party this afternoon. £110 balance of party, £40 diesel, £20 sainsbury.

Popping out to shake image of stitch airing from brain pass the brain bleach

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/10/2017 20:47

Well done need and need dd

Taytocrisps · 01/10/2017 20:57

Evening all. Busy weekend so I'm just popping in to say Hi.

I did some cleaning at my Dad's house yesterday so I spent approx. €6 on cloths and polish. He keeps the house tidy and washes up after himself but he tends not to see dust. I also persuaded him to sort out some books and he agreed to dispose of about 80% of them, so I brought them into an Oxfam second hand bookshop.

I spent €9.99 on Max Factor panstick for DD's dance class. We had to get a particular shade.

Today we spent €48.99 in Aldi. DH made a very tasty chicken curry for dinner.

I discovered my local Centra newsagent was selling DD's favourite cereal bar for only €2.50 (box with 6 bars) so I stocked up. They're €3.35 in Tesco. Centra is usually verrrry expensive.

Grin em the glam reality of just having given birth

My payday spending has gone a bit out of control Blush . I may have spent £25 on a beauty box that comes out tomorrow, but £15 goes to charity and I fancied trying out a few products.

We did resist some Lego that is on offer on amazon as DD does not need it for Christmas with all the other stuff we have already

Tesco deliveries were a life saver when I couldn’t get out with a newborn cag so maybe a bit more flexibility with days would be helpful. Having to spend £40 is a pain though.

We had a lazy Sunday. And eaten up a few bits from my freezer clear out I am trying to do.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2017 21:00

Thanks Need I am determined to get a bit fitter, I don't want to be frumpy and forty so have nearly 14 months to sort myself out Grin it will take that long Wink

Those buns look awesome, I am quite into bread making at the moment and they look like a combination of bread and cake so would like to give them a go. I don't think dd likes cinnamon weirdo so will plan to make them when my mum is about as she loves them as much as me!!

Em I don't think you really know what love is until you have kids, it is an overwhelming feeling as you suddenly realise that your happiness is entirely dependent on them being o.kay.

That said dd is playing me up tonight as I wanted her to get into bed early/ on time as she is off on a school residential tomorrow. Even though she is yawning her head off she is adamant that she is not tired Hmm I told her I 'needed some quiet grown up time' and she said 'when is child time?'
'Every other minute of the day love, now go to bed!!' Grin

SnugglySnerd · 01/10/2017 21:30

Aw wreck what a beautiful photo. He's adorable!

All our dcs love bathtime luckily. It's like a big wet splashy party when they all get in the bath together.

Spent about £20 today on coffees, cakes and nice local honey. Bit extravagant. Had a lovely day though.

Just heard an ominous crash that might have been DD1 falling out of bed. No crying or shouting though. Don't know whether to investigate. Last time she'd got herself back into bed and then I blundered in a totally woke her up!

mammymammyIRL · 01/10/2017 21:46

Wreck your ds was a gorgeous baby Smile

Em oh the glam life of a new mum

Need 41k steps Shock I'm on 3410 and it's not likely to go much higher than that but tomorrow's a new day & a new week. My colleague has just said he'll start at 7/7.15 so I don't need to be in until 8. I might use that time for a walk on beach because I'm running for first time in 2 weeks tomo eve.

Girlie once you put your feet one in front of the other continuously you're a runner. You're only competing with yourself. My friend has a saying 'run your own race'.
Running is my time out for me.

I'm pondering going teetotal. I didn't drink for July & August, it was fine.
But I do like a drink Shock

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2017 21:47

Tayto Panstick is a blast from the past!.

Need I'm glad none of the ponies got hurt. It would've been a hard lesson learned.

The missing ingredient in home made drinking choc powder is salt. Also a lot of sifting.

LonelyOversharer · 01/10/2017 22:01

Well today was a true do nothing day. I went on the turbo for an hour (20miles) and had a bath, but thats it. Oh I remember the stitches so well, they're super when they heal enough to itch.

But, everyone has clean uniform for tomorrow, just need to get some rolls out of the freezer and I'm done.

I have ordered a load of stocking fillers (novelty pens and notepads etc), plus a couple of little pressies from Amazon, spent about £70 with an angle finder for cutting bricks, was on a lightening deal, I nearly bought one full price a while back, but it was £6 instead of £20.

AdoraBell · 01/10/2017 22:27

£5.70-ish in Holland & Barratt, had a voucher for £11.50 so got quick a lot for my fiver.

Cagliostro · 01/10/2017 23:38

£400 on a new bed at last! Need to get all new bedding now as we are going from a double to a king size.

Cagliostro · 01/10/2017 23:50

Also thank you seacow we have Moses basket sheets already Thanks

Sorry have been behind at replying to people my brain is not working 😳 At all 😳😳😳

£20 Amazon as found a waterproof mattress protector, seemed a good idea for the new bed what with the baby and everything 😂😂 and added syringes to get to free delivery - have been told to express colostrum before the birth due to the risk of baby having low blood sugar.

Where's good for cheap bedding? It's years since I've chosen any so quite excited but don't want to spend loads as it's just going to get puked and worse on

ememem84 · 02/10/2017 01:18

cag Amazon’s actually quite good for bedding. So is primark. Just watch anything dark blue from primark. A friend of mine went blue at uni because she didn’t wash the bedding first....

ChristmasSeacow · 02/10/2017 04:24

I've not looked at the adult stuff but Asda has a good selection of children's bedding Cag and very reasonable, I bet the big bed stuff is good too. Ikea also have some good stuff.

mammymammyIRL · 02/10/2017 06:32

Feeling very indulgent, starting work at 8 instead of 7. Set alarm for possibly using that extra time for a walk & instead used it to sleep for an extra hour Smile going to shower, blow dry my hair & have breakfast at home before going to work for 8.

WreckTangled · 02/10/2017 07:00

Apparently Asda has a really nice high thread count bedding set. Yes yes to expressing colostrum, I used the 1ml oral syringes for ds. Ended up having him before I was allowed to start doing it though Hmm

Should be a nsd today.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2017 07:14

Brushed cottons meant to be really warm for bedsheets. I wish I'd known that when we lived in the country with only two working storage rads.

We used to leave the electric blanket on all night there.

Just need bread & my flu jab today.

LonelyOversharer · 02/10/2017 07:33

Brushed cotton sheets will generally be good quality as they've got to be thick. I love them. Asda have plain colours, Dunelm, amazon (lovely scandi christmas sets) and even argos are ok.

We need to have the window open a bit all year round (for dp) so I bought exrta snug sheets (which he hates, but tough).

Its like mid winter here today. Barely light and blowing a stormy hoolie. Just great.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2017 07:38

Ponden mill? I've seen those Scandi sets 💗

Avoid Laura Ashley, we rented a holiday apartment with Laura Ashley pure cotton high thread count sheets. Too rough. Totally spoiled going to bed.

Cagliostro · 02/10/2017 07:40

Thanks all, I hadn't even thought about warmth and stuff! How do you find out what thread count something is? And what number is good/bad?

Thanks for the warning em I don't particularly want to look like a smurf :o :o

And happy birthday em have a fabulous day!

WreckTangled · 02/10/2017 07:49

Happy birthday em!

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2017 08:00

Happy Birthday Em Flowers

Anything over 300tc should be ok Cag, I don't think brushed cotton has a tc though.
