I make no sense Blush almost 4 years of sleep deprivation catching up

ememem84 · 01/10/2017 09:28

meadow oooh brunch out! I love a brunch! When I went to Dubai and Saudi a few years ago for work a lot of meetings took place over brunch. It's amazing there. It's a proper event.

Dh was the same before we got catface. He didn't like cats. Didn't want a cat. we compromised. And got a cat. I persuaded him to go to the shelter to look. And she came home with us that day.

According to my Fitbit I slept for 6 hours 40 minutes last night in total.

Dh is making shakshuka for our early brunch. Mmmmm. Then ds is having a bath...

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2017 09:40

Morning, I love Sundays!

DD stayed awake for hours and hours yesterday - the whole time I was at the BBQ (4 hours) plus most of the journey each way. She was wired! I just couldn't get her to sleep. She was her usual self overnight though.

My friend and her DD (my goddaughter) are coming round in an hour for brunch. I have naice fruit, toast, eggs and bacon etc and also currently have some cinnamon buns proving. I want to conquer the cinnamon bun.

This all sounds very positive but the house is quite untidy and no one is dressed yet luckily my friend lives in the messiest house I've ever seen . I am cuddling sleeping DD (who still won't be put down to sleep) while DH showers. Having a quick catch up on Strictly since I am beached.

Hungry but have to wait!

ememem84 · 01/10/2017 10:08

seacow that's what Sundays are for! Friends and food and comfy clothes.

I was a bit passive aggressive this morning. Friends went out for a friend's birthday last night. I wasn't invited. The birthday friend, I have come to realise is completely toxic. One friend sent me a message on Friday to ask if I was coming out. I said I knew nothing about it so presumed I wasn't invited. Another messaged me this morning saying she missed seeing me last night and it was a shame I couldn't make it. I text her back to say I hadn't been invited. But not to worry as I had the nicest Saturday night in I'd had for ages with my new family (tasty dinner, small wine, strictly, baby snuggles and early night!). Much nicer than arguing over the cocktail bill, where we're going dancing, someone crying, and then the obligatory chips on the way home and stinking hangover.

I have a feeling that babies don't understand "mummy's got a hangover..." so best not to get one! Haha!

mammymammyIRL · 01/10/2017 11:13

Seems we're all in the same boat today. I'm so so tired, I really want to go back to bed for a nap all day long

Em perhaps they thought you mightn't be up for going out so soon after ds's birth but they should have let you make that decision.

Sounds like you had a lovely evening anyhow

ememem84 · 01/10/2017 11:25

I want to think so mammy but the toxic one would have done this on purpose. She will obviously make out she had my best interests at heart... its lucky I worked this out.

Ds has had a bath. My first time bathing him. He enjoyed it this time I think.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2017 11:25

I remember that from my younger years. There's always one crier curiously opposed to waterproof eye make up.

Don't miss it.

100yearsdotcom · 01/10/2017 11:31

Lol em yeah the cats always win out!

fluffy Grin

WreckTangled · 01/10/2017 11:42

Cheese and ham toasties all round for lunch.

WreckTangled · 01/10/2017 14:00

Em this was ds the first time he didn't cry in the bath 😍

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2017 14:39

He's beautiful Wreck.

The Waitrose delivery slots are open for Christmas. I've booked one for the 22nd incase they do the free bottle of champagne offer again.

I'll stay up till midnight the night they open the sainsburys slots to book one with them as well. Either way I'm not setting foot in a supermarket Christmas week.

LonelyOversharer · 01/10/2017 14:41

wreck that is such a beautiful pic! No wonder you are broody! Ds screamed at each and every bath until he was 3. He's still not keen at 5.5.

Done not much so far, just sorted laundry, and moved 100 bricks before the rain drove me inside.

Cagliostro · 01/10/2017 15:32

Wow you Frugaleers make gorgeous babies 😍😍😍

£40 lunch for me, Caglets and friend. Excellent sugars

Out again tomorrow probably but it's a cheapie pub chain with soft play - DD is very nearly at the height limit and I'm not sure how strict they are so want to squeeze in a trip with home ed buddies if we can before she bloody grows again.

Boots are doing 20 points per £1 spent today if you spend over £50. Could probably spend that on necessary stuff if I thought about it, but CBA to head to town now. Might look online and get click and collect if they do it.

Cagliostro · 01/10/2017 15:47

Speaking of delivery slots I have a dilemma. A while back we switched to midweek only delivery saver with Tesco because it was half the price of anytime (£30 vs £60). It's fine although sometimes a bit annoying having to stick to tues-thurs only. Anyway I'm now wondering if it's worth, for the sake of £30, switching back. As I don't know how chaotic life will be once baby arrives. And it will be useful for emergency nappies etc. OTOH DH can pick up stuff. Hmmmm.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2017 15:58

Got any clubcard points to use for it?.

mammymammyIRL · 01/10/2017 15:59

Nap won out - two hours

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2017 16:08

Hi all.

That is such a sweet pic Wreck

Em I would assume anyone who had just given birth wouldn't be up for going out tbh, the first time I went out for an evening I think dd was about 11 weeks and that felt early! She should have sent you a text along the lines of 'am guessing you are probably not up for it but just in case you are.....' type thing though.

We have had a nice Sunday so far, went over to see a friend who has just got two puppies Shock they are miniature schnauzers (?sp) seriously cute. Then my dad took us out for lunch which was lovely. Spent £5 of getting dd and my nephew a cake each.

Chilling on sofa now, my legs are killing me from my run (I use the word 'run' fairly loosely Wink) dd has put The Goonies on - love this film!!

ememem84 · 01/10/2017 16:39

wreck such a cutie!!!!

We've had a lovely Sunday lunch with dparents. Lasagne and salad. A glass of wine and a piece of carrot cake. Dh is napping watching the football. Ds has been so good.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2017 17:04

Cag You'd need £15 clubcard vouchers to spend £30 on a delivery pass. If there's no facility to upgrade from mid week to all week on the cc site email the CEO & spell it out. 3 kids, in reciept of pip, loyal customer etc & see if they bend the rules.

NSD & I saved Dh £1.50 in sainsbos.

I'm doing dry October. Soon as I've drunk this Aldi Marlborough sauv blanc. Not as good as villa Maria but really quite close & only £6.

When I did dry January I drank two glasses of cava in February & had to go to bed totally off my face.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/10/2017 17:37

happymoneysaver.com/homemade-dishwasher-detergent/

I've tried this today & everything is clean and sparkling. No cloudiness on the glasses.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2017 18:03

Fluffy that's pretty much my reaction to alcohol atm, after 9 months off.

We have just realised our dishwasher isn't getting hot. We inherited it with the house and reckon it is at least 16 years old, so I am not sure it's worth spending on getting it repaired. We might be better getting a new one, which would also be more energy efficient. (It's not integrated so we'd have to get another standalone... I was hoping it would hold out till we got a new kitchen so I could get an integrated one then but that's not looking imminent Confused).

Cinnamon buns turned out brilliantly. This is not necessarily a good discovery.

Cag do you have any use for fitted sheets for a Moses basket?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 01/10/2017 18:54

Ooo I love a cinnamon bun, receive please Christmas!!

ChristmasSeacow · 01/10/2017 19:40

Step this way Girlie for some bun talk:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/3047113-Anyone-have-a-tried-and-tested-cinnamon-bun-recipe?watched=1&msgid=72312454#72312454

This was the recipe I used today, but with bread flour:

sallysbakingaddiction.com/2013/05/08/easy-cinnamon-rolls-from-scratch/

I took a pic before the proving and after we'd eaten half of them, forgot the pic of the finished article though in my eagerness to get my nose in the trough

Christmas You could get semi intergrated, you would still have a handle to use on the door & when you get a new kitchen you just cut a plain panel down to side & attach it.

It all depends on how long you think it would take to get a new kitchen.

If your kitchen is fairly standard a new panel might not cost much & kickboarding can be really cheap.

A new model would save you lots of money over its lifetime.

ememem84 · 01/10/2017 19:56

Oooh cinnamon buns. May try those at some point.

Exhausting day being out the house.

Have come home and had a bath and am now on bed airing my stitches relaxing. #glam dh just wandered into the bedroom and had the shock of his life! Haha!

Had a bit of a cry earlier. Was feeding ds and he was just looking at me. Just staring right into me.

I also worked out that when he's just wearing his little vests he looks a bit like Dobby the House Elf....

It's my birthday tomorrow. I'll be 26 again for the seventh time also cannot believe that this time last week we'd just had our first hour (ish) as a family of 3.
