Me and DS are going to St Andrews next week for an open day, it's a very long drive but I'm looking forward to it as I think it will suit him.

needastrongone · 21/09/2017 10:22

I've also got to ferry DD to a from school today as she is helping at the Open Evening. DD reminds me of donkey from Shrek, jumping up and down in the background and shouting 'pick me, pick me' Grin. She volunteers for everything, always and says yes to all things!

ememem84 · 21/09/2017 10:30

Lazing in bed - tick
Long shower - tick
I am also now the proud owner of shiny new skin (thanks lovely body scrub). Am scrubbed moisturised and dressed.

Raining today so have caved and am wearing leggings and a shirt dress non maternity but I can just do up a few buttons good lord the comfort.

Next on my list - put washing in machine then make a cup of tea.

Stressful day here!!

ememem84 · 21/09/2017 10:32

need I visited St. Andrews when I was looking at unis. Lovely place. Only reason I decided not to apply was I felt it was too far from home (that was the reason I wanted to apply in the first place though!). I chose not to go to queens in Belfast for the same reason.

ChristmasSeacow · 21/09/2017 10:54

I am in a naice cafe and a sexy dad (with beautiful 3 yo DD in tow) just stopped to chat and admire DD. He was saying he is broody and that DD was gorgeous, simply gorgeous... and just as he said that she threw up all down my front Grin

Sunny I am all inspired about Beavers after what you've said . I have put DS on a waiting list already. It it is very oversubscribed here so we'll see. I wouldn't mind getting involved but it's tricky as I don't know what my work commitments will be. The giving support according to need is what the school system is also supposed to do. Such a shame it is not working for your DS at the moment. Have you put any feelers out to see whether there are other local schools that might have a more helpful ethos for him? As Need says, I appreciate moving schools is a big deal and it might not magically solve everything... but perhaps you would have a different experience of support somewhere else? It's a lot to consider. But great that Beavers is helping to build his confidence at least.

Wasn't a great night - I had to sit up holding DD from 1.30am. But at least she was asleep most of the time so I could doze. It's still not as good as a proper lie down but better than nowt.

I love the massive baby burps Snuggly!

100 I actually can't wash my clothes fast enough... I bought a few new tops while on holiday which solved that issue but I think I will need more trousers. DD has pooed on one pair of jeans and vomited on the other today. I have never felt more gorgeous Wink

The solar system cake is actually very easy - normal round cake with balls of coloured fondant for planets. I'll post when done. It's a lot less work than last years Sarah and Duck effort and much much less than the 3-D Thomas cake the year before I'd rather go through childbirth than make that again

ememem84 · 21/09/2017 10:54

Not nsd. £102 home insurance. Meant to pay it the other day. But...forgot and it had expired. Oops.

Premium was £132. But managed to get them down. Frugal win. This also includes specific cover for my wedding and engagement ring.

ChristmasSeacow · 21/09/2017 11:23

That is so cheap Em, is it just contents? Ours was over £500 and that's after I shopped around Shock

CollieBobs · 21/09/2017 12:26

LonelyOversharer · 21/09/2017 12:48

I went without home insurance for over a year a few years ago, I simply couldn't afford it. Driving home one night we saw so much smoke and I had an awful panic... turns out a farmer was burning off the heathland behind our house. I got new home insurance that night! We have inadvertantly driven around with no mot for about 7 months as well (before the dvla database got good). That was a genuine fall-though-the-cracks thing though. House admin is not my strong point.

Oh god seacow 3d birthday cakes! The sphinx will never be forgotten (the cake was quite inedible), and my Blaze for ds' 4th was truly crap. Like extra slice crap.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/09/2017 13:26

Our home insurance is £100 after CB with cover for my engagement ring & dhs watch out of the house. I think it depends on the area your in.

£1.48 Aldi, bread, tinned Tom & onions
£6.20 sains, wine & carrots.
£20 petrol.

Voucher used to buy one Christmas present.

I was going to get my flu jab tm and I feel poorly so I can't Sad on the upside it's doner kebab night tonight.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/09/2017 13:36

Ooh yes. I keep eyeing up hemesphere cake tins.

ememem84 · 21/09/2017 13:47

seacow yes just contents. Buildings is covered by our service charge as we're in an apartment.

Dm has come round and is organising the baby room for me.

Laska5772 · 21/09/2017 14:42

Ha Ha Em.. but just think If you had gone you could have become an HRH and had to posh up to come out of maternity hospital Grin

northender · 21/09/2017 14:48

Just popping in to keep my place! Haven't read back, will try to catch up later.
Hectic here with all sorts of stuff.Seem to be haemorrhaging money at the moment but it all feels unavoidable if you know what I mean?
After lots of discussion, ds is going on the cricket tour to Tobago without us.Without going into too much detail, it was clear that there wouldn't be much family time at all. We had found a lovely hotel while ds would be staying in a basic apartment so he felt he would be left wishing he could do some of the things we were doing while he was playing cricket. I can completely see his point of view and am quite pleased that he still wants to be part of a family holiday so much at 16. So, now we are trying to find somewhere for our "big" family holiday in July. Having never been beyond Brittany, Germany or Northern Spain with the dc my mind is feeling a bit boggled weighing up the options. I thought we had quite a decent budget, but it seems it doesn't go far these days. £300 deposit needs to be paid for Tobago today. Not good timing with a week until payday. So excited for ds though, what a great opportunity! The timing of the return flight means that he will miss the first day back at school after Feb half term but the head has approved it as "recognised sporting activity" or similar.

Laska5772 · 21/09/2017 15:18

AAAAArrrrrGGGGGGHHHH! there was EFFIN RUDDY TISSUE in the EFFIN WASHING MACHINE!! (and I went through all the effin pockets i thought!)

So.

Its gotta be his fault hasnt it? Should I LTB? Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/09/2017 15:41

Tumble dryer?.

£5 nectar points in today, £10 valued opinions. 5 points off a voucher for my other account.

ememem84 · 21/09/2017 15:45

laksa true never thought of that. Why didn't my past self consider that I could have become a princess....

And yes. Absolutely LTB. There's nothing else you can do really.

Dm has been an absolute trooper. She's essentially organised everything while I've basically sat and directed. Best mum.

ememem84 · 21/09/2017 17:03

Only thing left to do now is put the cot together. Dm and I failed at that - because we couldn't be bothered. Will leave that for dh I think.

Now on couch watching dexter on Netflix.

SunnyLikeThursday · 21/09/2017 18:01

Sorry to hear that Laska.

I'm having fun with electronics here. The one part that I needed to built my machine arrived today and I've got 5 weeks left to the exhibition. I'm building, building, building.

Loveabaconsandwich · 21/09/2017 18:02

Yes laska you would be totally justified. I did that the other day, DD1 got the blame

My train was late so missed my connection. Now not due home until 7.15 Angry DP is ordering dominos pizza . Will be claiming my compo from the train company!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/09/2017 18:21

Nsd. Colleague paid for lunch. I had a massive tuna baguette yum!

Have had a nice chat with mil about dh being grumpy and he's just been grumpy in front of her. She has sympathy for me though Grin

Got something tricky to sort out at work wrt to needing to put something on someone's notes that isn't legally allowed to be there. I feel like I'm in over my head with it but I only have to phone someone high up and get advice.

needastrongone · 21/09/2017 18:26

£16 PT session.
£35 nails, toes and eyebrows. Didn't pay for nails but left a tip for the girl that 'did' me.
