I prefer TopCashback. Sometimes quidco has better deals though...

Taytocrisps · 17/09/2017 19:58

Big celebrations in the Tayto household because Dublin won the All Ireland football final.

All together, "In Dublin's fair city....."

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/09/2017 20:00

Not keen on my name. Although I hadn't realised DD2s name (a popular one nowadays) is actually derived from my name until my dad proudly pointed it out!

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2017 20:02

Topcashback will price match quidco, quidco take ages to pay.

Kidstart takes longer to track & only pays out at £10.

Congratulations Tayto 🇨🇮 It's a bit mean to hold a match like that when you've all got work the next day.

Laska5772 · 17/09/2017 20:07

ive only been on Quidco . however i think a lot of companies are getting fed up with discount sites as i ve had a few purchases declined recently even though i have kept the items . . It used to be that is the company had a discount itself Quido discounts were on top of those ... doesnt seem so much now.. I

Loveabaconsandwich · 17/09/2017 20:13

I have both quidco and TCB. But for some reason I only use quidco for clicksnap and TCB for everything else. TCB has always paid out for all of my stuff, I even once got an extra £15 when I didn't actually buy a particular offer Smile

CollieBobs · 17/09/2017 20:15

laska that's exactly what's been happening to me too! Especially John Lewis!

I'm going to give Topcashback a go. Thank you! And yes Quidco is SLOW!

ChristmasSeacow · 17/09/2017 20:16

Laska that's definitely the kind of name I imagined for you.

Mine is v unusual so I'd definitely out myself Blush. I really like it though, mum and dad done good.

Cagliostro · 17/09/2017 20:20

I just check both before I buy anything and go with whoever has a higher rate.

Anyone know about hexbugs? Do all the sets fit together somehow so you can make your own designs or do they stand alone only?

Laska5772 · 17/09/2017 20:29

Seacow it was a v popular name in late 50's when i was born .. .. There were 4 of us in my class at prmary school!

Laska5772 · 17/09/2017 20:34

collie ive noticed Boden decline on Quidco a lot also . (although i havent bought anything from them for a while) .

I have had some good successes with insurances, car hire and utilities from Quidco, but they do take a while to pay out.. will have a look at topcashback also

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2017 20:37

I use which ever has the best off. Also kidstart for Amazon and Lakeland

£95 Scooter, £53 playmobil, £5 sweet bags

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/09/2017 05:37

Morning Brew . It's too dark to be getting up at this time to go to work Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/09/2017 06:31

Agreed. They switch the streetlights off round here, it's even darker now.

Green jinn app has 50p off green blacks choc. 70% cocoa variety only. I'm thinking vegan brownies.

Also Lindor assorted truffles, stocking filler?.

Wheelycote · 18/09/2017 06:37

Morning all💤

Been awake since 330ish😩. When does sleep go back to normal after a break up???

Cuppas all round☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2017 06:47

Ah Wheely. It takes a while according to a friend I helped through one. Sorry not what you want to here. Have you tried taking a note book to bed to write down the witching hour thoughts to try clear your head?
Shout if you want to chat.

Productive day yesterday, sorting out, tidying up. Charity shop drop off and post office Tonight to return some jeans and post seadd leggings. Have identified a nice car boot sale so just need my shit together before the season ends. Some stuff for Facebook/ eBay too. Time is the issue here.

SnugglySnerd · 18/09/2017 07:27

I'm fed up with the cash back sites. I downloaded the apps and got bombarded with updates trying to sell me things I don't want but when I have used them they've been really slow to pay. Only use them now for big spends like car insurance.

Trying to decide whether to go into town later. It's sunny and a nice walk but I wouldn't get to look at much with the babies in tow. I might stay at home and do jobs instead. Cheaper!

WreckTangled · 18/09/2017 07:31

Ah wheely ☕️

Will be £24 for ds' swimming later and that's it today.

Dh is annoying me again. He's so miserable.

yumyumpoppycat · 18/09/2017 07:47

Wheely hope your sleep settles soon.

Laska I am using topcashback as I didn't use them last Christmas and mainly got suckered into quidco £10 deals around black friday none of which worked and they didn't resolve when I logged a claim.

We went out using merlin pass from their summer sale yesterday. It was our first trip to madam tussauds - it was eerily quiet hardly any queues, better than we thought and the kids liked it. Also went to regents park so not too spendy. kids had sandwiches from sainsbos - bit cross I didn't make some to take! Dp and I waited to eat until we got home so a bit of damage limitation!

WreckTangled · 18/09/2017 07:49

I think buying sandwiches from the supermarket is still better than going to pret or something though Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/09/2017 07:51

Sorry to hear that wreck.

Cagliostro · 18/09/2017 08:19

Is kidstart good then? I shop a hell of a lot on Amazon

Another day full of waiting around as I have the diabetes specialist today and I'm the last appointment, and apparently it always overruns. Will take lots of stuff to entertain the Caglets

ememem84 · 18/09/2017 08:23

Re names - I hardly ever meet another grown up with the same name as me.

I've had some weird spellings of it though. Because people often think mines spelt the french way (with ie at the end not y) if I'm on the phone at work and need to give my email I say "it's emily with a y" someone sent an email to "yemily@............" it didn't get through to me but the boss (who was cc'd and forwarded it on)thought it was funny....

Day one of leave. I woke up without my alarm at 730 and panicked I was going to be late. Then remembered I don't have to be anywhere.

Today I am taking full advantage of time off and am going to: stay in bed for a bit, meal plan and shopping list, then potter around the house. I am determined to get my hospital bag done properly today so it's ready to go. I'm pretty sure I have everything I need. But just to make sure.

May have to go to the shop too - dh bought a half price chicken yesterday from m&s for roasting (not sure if the deal is only here or in the UK too but if it is it runs out today) and was meant to buy feta and pearl cous cous/pasta stuff. So I could do chicken and cous for dinner. He couldn't find cous or feta. He's suggested doing it with rice instead to use up the food we have so may roast some veggies and bake the rice.

Catface is confused. She's come in the bedroom and shouted at my twice now before tearing around the apartment. Apparently Monday is when she does her sprints!! She's just settled down for a nap though on bed with me. I'm clearly in need of supervision...

ememem84 · 18/09/2017 08:26

I do most of my online shopping through topcashback. As I don't think I can use quidco here. May give it a go though.

And like cag I use Amazon a LOT! We've established that for us, things like nappies and wipes will be cheaper buying on a subscribe and save. I already have catfaces food on order and am tempted to give Amazon pantry a go.

CollieBobs · 18/09/2017 08:27

DS has a chest infection! It was exactly a week ago he last saw the consultant who said "he seems to be doing well whilst it isn't cold / flu season" pah. Feel really bad for him as it'll flare up asthma & glue ear. And he'll have anti biotics which he hates too. Sad

Beautiful sunny day here. May go for a walk later as the fresh air helps with asthma. But we'll see.

NSD for usual spends
But could be spending from the Xmas bank account on gifts as I have seen some good deals.

Tomorrow will be an expensive day as we're going to order our new mattress, use our savings and pay ourselves back monthly. Seems the best way to do it albeit extremely painful. I hate hate hate spending money from our savings.
