Haha cag yep. The unpredictability is the only thing that's freaking me out. I'm realistic enough to know that baby is coming out one way or the other and I just have to go with it. Midwife said the other day baby boy is 3/5 engaged. They don't think I'll have much time off on my own...! Haha!

need work was ok. Haven't done a huge amount really. Everything's handed over. My desk is empty of my personal things. Sad. Just the work gumph go through now.

Tomorrow is our air display. So it'll be noisy here tomorrow afternoon.

Veggie lasagne and salad for me for dinner.

Then I have a scone and some fruit.

LonelyOversharer · 13/09/2017 18:45

Oh mammy I am so like your mum! Currently a jumper done bar the sleeves, a winter cardi/jacket started, a crochet blanket on the go, several elves and fairies part knitted, a super cute cardi for cagletini to finish, and the yarn for my coat en route, plus new yarn for cosy sofa back blankets waiting patiently! Hopeless.

I went into town, as I wore black long johns this morning as my only leggings didn't tuck into my new boots (winter tunic dress worn), Primark £41, loads of stuff, including a pair of leggings with fur on the inside! They will be so cosy. Jeggings (dark blue) two nice tops and tights and jammies for little dd's. So many stocking fillers there, will go and buy them soon before I run out of time. £8 charity shop: 2 good large pairs of jeans for sofa project. £11 tk maxx on 3 lovely mugs, £2 parking.

rafa under a tenner in Lakeland? How is this possible?? I spend more than that on licorice, before I even start on bakeware. Oh, that reminds me life either date coupon, whichever you def won't use please and thankyou.

wreck if a full day off will give you some peace and quiet time to get stuff done, I'd go that way, but it is a bit more money out for childminding. Agree that right after school tends not to be the best quality dc time! We started shutting the shop a 3 as the two hours at the shop after school was hideous, with them whiny and fighting. Yes we may lose some customers, but it's so much easier to just get them home.

yumyumpoppycat · 13/09/2017 19:03

Em is it your first baby?

Hope the next few weeks until induction go ok for you Cag.

Mammy I like your idea of a separate card for xmas - excellent for keeping on track of everything, not sure I could persuade dp though as he would be worried we would forget to pay it.

HSD as sent kids passports off, but didn't use the check and send option so in theory saved £22 - fingers crossed I have filled them in correctly.

ememem84 · 13/09/2017 19:09

yumyum yep first one! Exciting times ahead!!! I'm thoroughly optimistic about everything or maybe that's naive but we have no point of reference for babies. So we're planning on just winging it mostly.

CollieBobs · 13/09/2017 19:10

lonely I also saw 2 Disney tops for DS for Christmas in Primark. Gotta get them before they run out of stock or change the stock. Thanks for reminding me. They were £4 each. (He asked specifically for a Lightning McQueen t shirt).

Had yummy frugal tuna and med veg pesto pasta for tea. With garlic bread.

WreckTangled · 13/09/2017 19:10

Hmm cag I'm a bit of a carb addict! I think as you haven't got long left I would try to really cut them out. I know it'll be hard but it's only short term. Strawberries and dark chocolate are low carb. I like slices of cheese dipped in salad cream 😂

SnugglySnerd · 13/09/2017 19:21

7 weeks Cag! Exciting to know when you will meet DD!

Winging it is the only way with babies Em. And with toddlers. With all children in fact!

WreckTangled · 13/09/2017 19:25

I'm just winging life. I don't feel like I know much more than when I was 18. I still borrow money from my dad and phone him for advice Grin

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/09/2017 19:46

lonely I originally scan read part of your post as £11 k on 3 lovely mugs and was like ShockShock ha ha

It appears I am rather tired this evening.

I had a slightly odd woman sat next to me on the train whose swearing was getting loader and loader about the crying child in the carriage. And she kept moving up and down to stare at the poor child. The crying child didn't bother me, but she did, so I had to move

Love that you still ring your dad wreck Smile

£5 on lunch
£6 on a new hairbrush. DD2 has hidden mine and I cannot find it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/09/2017 19:51

Happy Birthday for your Ds Need. I'm quite glad your Dh is expanding, goals are important. I hope Creme will come back, she & I are the only original thread members left.

Love you poor thing, you won't do that twice.

laska have you bought those shoes? Are we meant to tell you off, or say that they'd go really well with your cute bag and black clothes combo? Because they will!

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/09/2017 21:16

Ha you have so bought them haven't you laksa?
Pleased crème is ok. Waves if she is reading.
Happy birthday need ds
Oh cag, lists are good. 7 weeks is ages yet.
Welcome back raf.
Will sort out the code lonely and pm you.
£8 in Aldi today.

ememem84 · 13/09/2017 21:17

laksa if you have bought those shoes they'd look great with a pair of black skinnies, a white Cani (long line) a denim shirt (done up with rolled sleeves and collar popped) and maybe some sort of hat (I'd go tan fedora)

Laska5772 · 13/09/2017 21:18

Lonely I really am not sure what you are getting at ..cant a girl post a picture of naughty shoes on a frugal thread ? .. GrinWink..

I'm no detective but..... You are guilty as charged laksa.

Lonely I have pm you

needastrongone · 13/09/2017 21:36

creme is fine she says, just busy with life. She'll be back. I'm glad I messaged though, as I was worried.

Cheers Fluffy, I wish DS was here, but 'tis only a day. I'm not sure DH will ever fully switch off, but I think he would age before my eyes if he did. So goals are good.

Bootcamp tonight. Who knew you could do that many exercises with a chair?

needastrongone · 13/09/2017 21:40

www.hush-uk.com/sale_1/sale_2/sale_footwear/cali_skaters_cali_multi.htm

I give you these, great reduction and they go with literally everything, promise. But I am not enabling you Laska, I'm really not.....

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 13/09/2017 21:51

Cag your kids have done so well having bloods done, my dd is so needle phobic its a bit of a worry. She had a huge melt down in the G.P surgery once when the Dr wanted to take bloods and even when she was really ill in a&e she wouldn't let them put a cannula in. My dad is a type 2 diabetic and followed the Michael Mosley low blood sugar diet, he is now off all medication and his blood sugars are normal.

Laska5772 · 13/09/2017 22:00

Hmm.. those are nice need , but i like these better.. but £[shock!] , No way. it makes the Dune ones look much better IF was thinking of perhaps buying them.. Black laces might look better on the Dune ones , Yes? That is IF i was considering them of course..

needastrongone · 13/09/2017 22:09

Oh Cag, I forgot to mention. I'm not low carb but I've recently upped my protein, which probably resulted in me reducing carbs somewhat. There's quite a lot of Facebook sites dedicated to low carbs. HFLC or keto diets they might be called.

I'd be aiming for a diet rich in colour and clean as possible. Lots of whole grain, fresh veg, fruit, berries. Eating just natural stuff. That would reduce carbs from unnatural sources anyway.

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/09/2017 22:12

Girlie What do you do if your dd needs an injection? My ds is a bit the same, though oddly he is fine in the travel clinic and just freaks out in the GPs surgery so do I, the nurses there are quite bad tempered. We have two soon, a flu vaccine and a GA for teeth probably.

Cag that's great about the research project. They're doing personal genomes at the hospital here and I'm part-geneticist by training, so I like all that stuff a lot.

We had our first Beavers night tonight. My ears are still ringing a little bit. Loads of big beavers have gone up to cubs and tiny ones have replaced them. This means I'm spending less time discussing philosophy and more time explaining what "turn around" means.

needastrongone · 13/09/2017 22:12

Amazing, but way too expensive Laska!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 13/09/2017 22:13

I'm sure I saw some shoes just like that in Primark for about £5 Laska Wink
