Frugaleers Still Saving into September
Cagliostro · 02/09/2017 20:28

Oooh pretty em!

Aw thanks mammy yes finally found out for sure at my growth scan last week! Happy either way of course and actually it was mainly DD who was desperate to find out the sex, but can't deny it's nice to know and it's all feeling more real now. :)

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow - DH working and I want to get some housework done really to build on what we managed yesterday. Need to get some hairdye though as have promised the Caglets can dip dye purple for not-back-to-school :o :o :o

Cagliostro · 02/09/2017 20:31

D'oh forgot a spend from today, £4.95 on a ks3 science book. Will be working through ks2 curriculum obviously but plan to build on it when I think the Caglets are able to handle some of the ks3 stuff.

New laptop has arrived but is with the neighbours and they've gone out.

SnugglySnerd · 02/09/2017 21:16

I can't believe it's been 6 months either and yes I am still using deodorant too, Christmas!

Hair looks great, Em.

Welcome Nocuts.

Busy day. Spent 30 quid on bits in town including parking.

HollyTheHarrier · 02/09/2017 21:57

Welcome to NoCuts and hello everyone.

Busy busy week at work. Out with work colleagues last night, then swimming early this morning and a quiet day mostly at home after that. Spends yesterday and today were:
£30 on last night (including entry, food and drink)
£5 swimming
£38 food shopping
£115 new running trainers
£350 shed 🙈 Life is getting very expensive

Anyway. Tomorrow I have a race. I might need petrol and I will likely need some sort of food or drink after the race (20 miles) but other than that I'm planning to avoid spending. Only half caught up on news but hope everyone is having a good weekend. mammy did I see it was your half tomorrow or did I imagine that? Good luck if it is.

Cagliostro · 02/09/2017 23:22

Yay, neighbours got back earlier and brought the laptop straight round instead of waiting for us to collect as well. Lovely. It's tiny and the trackpad is a bit weird, so will take some getting used to! But a bargain I think especially as it has Office included. Need to spend some time getting everything off the old one.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/09/2017 07:14

Yesterday £10 takeaway, £30 Aldi fail on first week of food, £5 hair cut, couple of pound charity shop.£20 petrol.

Today play farm as last holiday hurrah. £27 entry, will take a pic nic, probably get an ice cream,
Back to the routine tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/09/2017 07:15

Nice hair em.

Also sat and named the school stuff yesterday. Took bleeding ages.

WreckTangled · 03/09/2017 08:01

Morning! Haven't read what I've missed. Had the best time last night, drank a lot (and mixed my drinksBlush). Feel ok so far this morning though...

ChristmasSeacow · 03/09/2017 08:51

Hello from very rainy Devon!

Well, we managed to get ourselves to our holiday cottage yesterday. First time mobilising two kids and I feel as though I've moved house HmmGrin

It's a bit windy-narrow getting to where we are staying so I'm not looking forward to that drive each time we go out, but the views are amazing. We look directly out over rolling hills with nothing in front of us, it's a real treat. It looks stunning even in the rain.

We tried a Tesco online order last night. It was okay but of the two sirloin steaks they sent one was already out of date. I'll get my money back but it's quite irritating as we'll need to find a shop now. It was a very expensive order (£200! Shock) but we bought a lot of pre-made formula as we don't have any means of cooling the bottle quickly if making it up from powder (at home we have an ice dispenser). And naice stuff for dinner and packed lunches, like smoked salmon. Not planning to eat out much bar a couple of hot lunches.

I sympathise about the uniform labelling. Inironed them in but think they will need sewing over anyway. That said, two things particularly make me feel like a Real Mum: cleaning up child's vomit and sewing in name labels Grin

ememem84 · 03/09/2017 08:54

Just woken up. Catface pounced me at around 630 wanting breakfast. I sent her to the other room to dh.

He's just brought me tea and toast with jam and a bowl of pineapple. Mmm. Catface has been fed. He's good.

I'm going to pop some things on eBay today. Sort things for charity shop (and actually take them there this time).

But first I may stay in bed until lunchtime. Because I can and may not be able to do this again for a long time once baby arrives. Grin

mammymammyIRL · 03/09/2017 09:05

Spends since I posted yesterday
€21 on takeaway treated my sis she has an expensive day out today.
€4.50 on two protein bars, for me stored for another day, they were on offer. My parents had nothing grab & go for breakfast in so hence the spend, had I got up earlier I could've eaten breakfast SadWine meant I didn't Smile

Em hair is fabulous
Cag cool obviously either is great but now we've a frugaleer of each sex on the way!

Wearing my dubarry boots this weekend, comfy & warm.

Holly good luck today
Seacow happy holidays
Wreck hope you continue to feel good

ItalianWiking84 · 03/09/2017 09:47

Happy belated birthday to your ds north
And can hair indeed em. Don't think I would have the patience for it thought and especially not 4 weeks before due, but then again I am not that found of going to the hair dresser.
The boots looks cool mammy.
Cag if not mail coat is to expensive then I have loads of clothes ECT for a baby girl you can get. Not new but still in good condition.
I'm quite happy we don't haveuniforms here at schools so no labelling although I've labelled some of dd1 stuff for kindergarten. Just checked the winter overview of what they need, 3 snowsiita, 2 pair of boots, 2 jackets and 2 sets of rain clothes with robber boots ( going to be expensive)

WreckTangled · 03/09/2017 09:53

Seacow we got stick on labels they're really good and you can use them on water bottles, shoes, pe bag as well as clothes.

Mammy I've just had a massive breakfast! Could do with a nap but otherwise fine!

lifelongfrugaleer · 03/09/2017 10:05

Sharpie all the way for me. Writes on everything.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 03/09/2017 10:12

mammy yes I think I was on this quite some time ago... started a new Job and have been doing my level 3 childcare nvq. So not really has time to follow threads!

fluffy we are on cheapest packages for everything and I shop at lidl but as I have a limited diet i do need to go into tesco too for alternatives. But will go through again. I do need to use up all the snacks in the cupboard (and not give in to pester power when shopping with the kids for different cereal bars when we already have an entire plastic tub full)

I don't own an iron so my clothes labelling is with a sharpie on the labels - its worked so far and doesn't take very long 😂

Spends yesterday were 99p on a ring sizer from ebay and £7.90 on adventure time card wars game for dd1 birthday in november. Have set up alerts on ebay and schpock for the few bits I want to get her and have a budget for each, eg there's 3 ds games she'd love, if I can get them in budget second hand that would be the same price as one of them new 😊

Today's plan is tidy the house, catch up on coursework and get ready for work tomorrow, will be hard after 7 weeks off, but glad to be getting back into routine. dd's don't go back till weds.

northender · 03/09/2017 10:19

Seacow hope the Devon weather improves for you, annoying about the steaks too. Have a good time.
Cag glad you've got the laptop.
I'm on the iPad so can't check back, apologies to those I've missed.
Thanks for ds' birthday wishes. He had a good day & did well at the cricket, he really has turned into a lovely young man (obviously I'm biased!).
More cricket today, we'll go to watch some of it, but otherwise it's going to be a cleaning, tidying, sorting day here today. The only spends should be a drink or two at the cricket.

ememem84 · 03/09/2017 12:16

Absolutely awful weather here.

Have just made courgette pea spinach (frozen) and roasted garlic soup. Will put into our soup cups and will freeze so we have lunches/quick dinners when I'm off. #planning.

Have sorted a bag for the charity shop done one load of washing and have washed up.

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/09/2017 12:49

I should have bought a sharpie in Tesco. Knew there would be something. Smile

ememem84 · 03/09/2017 13:26

4 cups of soup made and in freezer. I've had a tuna melt wrap (toasted) for lunch. Dh has gone to work.

Baby Boy has spent the last half hour or so tenderising both side of my ribs. its insane how much he's moving around! its also starting to get a bit uncomfortable - very glad that we're on the home stretch now at what point am i allowed to admit the novelty of this has worn off? Grin

SunnyLikeThursday · 03/09/2017 14:51

Wreck How is your dd getting on at school these days? My ds is nervous about going back because they fire questions at him in class faster than he can write the answers. It worries me that they do that, and I wondered if your dd's school is the same? (I know they're not back yet, but last year, I mean. )

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 03/09/2017 15:02

sunny a biro works pretty well too, just fades after a few weeks of washing - plenty of time to get a sharpie to go over it 😆 how old is your ds? My dd is 8 going into year 4 and hasn't mentioned that happening in her class.

em I wasn't fond of being pregnant either time, I felt so lucky but was glad when dd's arrived so I could stop feeling sick, finally felt full up after eating, no more heartburn and stopped walking like a weeble 😂😂

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 03/09/2017 15:04

Have you got the recipe for the soup em sounds really nice!! I need new ideas for my soup maker that's looking sad in the cupboard 😂

SnugglySnerd · 03/09/2017 15:19

Weather horrible here too. Been out for coffee and a walk in the drizzle. Having a cosy afternoon baking, drawing and watching TV.

Not long now, Em. I actually really missed feeling the babies moving after they were born.

ememem84 · 03/09/2017 16:12

nocuts soup recipe was soup-er easy hahahaha couple of courgettes, couple of white onions, roughly chopped and fried in butter (this is important as it adds flavour) add roasted garlic (or just normal garlic - we had some half a bulb roasted and in the fridge. Fry that then add about 3/4 of a litre of chicken stock and black pepper. Boul for a bit. Add peas and frozen spinach. Summer for about 15. Whizz.

It's tasty.

I've been ok for the most part during the pregnancy. Just a bit fed up of it now. I've been very very lucky too - no sickness just nausea, no scary symptoms and I've only waddled like a weeble a couple of times...

snuggly a lot of people have said that to me. Once I have the baby and can physically see him it'll feel weird not having the bump etc. That seems completely odd to me. But then before I was pregnant the whole thing seemed odd. People change...!
