I had an off putting fb baby purchase too em . Person told me I could park right outside the flat, but actually it was yellow lines on a busy main road. Ended up parking 10 mins away in a pay and display car park with a newborn. Haven't purchased anything that way since!

CremeEggThief · 18/08/2017 18:41

NSD
I'm a big believer in pre-chopped veg too, frozen if possible. It might cost a bit more initially, but it's more frugal in the end, if it makes you cook and use what you have in, than going out or getting a take away. With my fatigue issues at times, I'd be lost without it.

WreckTangled · 18/08/2017 18:45

Bought an Indian and wish I hadn't. £31 ShockShock

LonelyOversharer · 18/08/2017 18:51

Loads of jobs done after the shop shut. But had a naughty costa so worth the trailing around (fuel, the range, lidl, tesco - all race stuff). Pizza for the kids tea and have a pre-made pulled lamb (is that a thing?) and a tray of prepped med roast veg for dp and me later. Its about as close to a ready meal as I get.

Old lady on rollerblades... don't care if folk know who I am, I say nothing on here I wouldn't tell people irl.

SnugglySnerd · 18/08/2017 19:05

Go Lonely on the roller blades! I never managed them.

2 nappy explosions and DD1 wet herself almost simultaneously at tea time. The washing machine is now on again...

WreckTangled · 18/08/2017 19:31

You don't look old to me lonely!

Dh is in a foul mood. He's been awake since four because he has a bad back but he's taking it out on all of us.

ememem84 · 18/08/2017 19:33

Yes! lonely cracking figure you've got there too!

love I've made a mental note not to buy a house on that particular road (shame as they're actually nice houses...) but for £15 I'm not fussed about the hassle. Dh is happy with the chair though. So yay.

Dinner was awesome - wraps filled with humous, grilled haloumi (which id never had before) homemade coleslaw, with patatas bravas on the side. Mmmmm. #itswhatfordinner

I've posted the below pic on Instagram. As with lonely not fussed about outing myself.

WreckTangled · 18/08/2017 19:42

Cool em I'm going to go and stalk you on IG. I love halloumi.

ememem84 · 18/08/2017 19:46

wreck I'd never had it before. It always weirded me out because it doesn't melt. Squeaky cheese we call it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/08/2017 20:11

Lonely You can't be old, your only a year older than me.

Em Try the chair on Catface when she's better, cats love baby stuff.

I've considered buying asbo cat a Moses basket but I think it might look like I'm a crazy childless cat lady so I bought him a covered dog bed instead. Cats love dog beds. Any bed they shouldn't be in basically.

WreckTangled · 18/08/2017 20:15

Argh

Deads better than injured.

ememem84 · 18/08/2017 20:19

fluffy catface likes our spare bed....

She's just come out for snuggles. Yay! Still hasn't eaten much but not too worried about her. She could do with losing a bit more weight

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/08/2017 20:27

She is winning at life. Tabbies tend to be well upholstered, you don't often see a skinny one.

ememem84 · 18/08/2017 20:38

True. She's the smallest of her litter too. The lady who runs the stables where I ride had two of her brothers - one is about the size of a Labrador puppy.

She's playing with dhs shoelaces now.

needastrongone · 18/08/2017 20:48

Bloody go you lonely, you and the skates look fab! I'm the same, if someone wanted to, I'm sure that I would be identifiable, but I'm the same persona here as IRL.

All packed and sorted and ready to leave in the morning. Boo.

needastrongone · 18/08/2017 20:50

And the same as em too.

Boo also to bad mood DH and mouse wrecked.

SnugglySnerd · 18/08/2017 21:38

Mmmm halloumi...

We had Jack Monroe carrot and kidney burgers in brioche buns with chips (frozen leftovers from the chippy shop so extra crunchy). Delicious Friday night dinner!

SnugglySnerd · 18/08/2017 21:40

The word "bean" is missing from my last post btw. Kidney burgers would be rank!

ememem84 · 18/08/2017 21:55

Eugh kidney burgers. Eugh Eugh Eugh.

Dh has semi failed. But it'll backfire on him. I asked him to remake the bed tonight. I'd stripped it earlier. It hasn't been done. I was falling asleep on the couch so went to bed. Bed not made. So I'm snuggled up in the spare room (benefit for me is that this room is waaaaaaaay cooler that the rest of our flat as we have a flat roof above it and also im roasting).

He'll probably fall asleep on the couch himself in a bit wake up at 3 and stumble to bed. Either having to make the bed himself or not bother and sleep on mattress.

I'm also pretty sure he won't clear up after dinner something else is asked him to do

100yearsdotcom · 18/08/2017 23:48

So sorry for your losses laska xxx

Hope meadow has had a good moving day!

Seacow, I hope DD gets some help at the doctor's. I really feel for you both.

Lonely, very impressive!

Bit of a spendy day here, getting necessary stuff plus some books to round out DD's gifts for Christmas but had vouchers for most of that. That's all of her presents sorted - not that she'll have a clue what's going on! Grin

Fluffy, I stopped off at sainsburys for some of the legendary jeggings but the only sizes left across the range were 6, 20, and 22. Gutted!

ChristmasSeacow · 19/08/2017 02:24

100 you can shop for Tu stuff online, they might have more sizes?

Lonely they are cool. I'm no good on skates but must admit I have coveted an adult-sized scooter many times. Maybe when DD is old enough to scoot I'll get one and we can all go out together!

All good things must come to an end Need. At least you will be reunited with your vast JO book collection Wink

Doctor was very nice about DD. Says it is silent reflux that is causing most of the problems and that we can either live with it till she outgrows it or give her more serious medication which reduces the production of acid in her stomach. So we are giving it a try. I handed the prescription in but have to wait till today (i.e. next day) to collect it. Apparently it's a suspension the pharmacy has to make up and it takes overnight to dissolve. That said, we've had a quieter evening and DD is a bit calmer. We even managed to put her down and eat together, which we've not managed for around a month. Result! (It makes me wonder whether I've overreacted to it all but DD cried all morning trying to take one feed... so I will persevere)

I made a very naughty dinner - Nigel Slater's smoked mackerel dauphinoise with green salad. It was very yummy indeed, being mostly potatoes and double cream

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/08/2017 06:28

christmas that's very interesting about silent reflux and there being other medication for it. My ds had similar trouble, and is having the low-grade 7 year old version at the moment, I think perhaps because we're going a bit overboard on readybrek. He has a pain across his chest at bedtime and is swallowing very oddly even just during conversations. We're going to give up readybrek for a bit and see if that helps. As a baby though, he just screamed during and after feeds and it wasn't fun at all. I hope the medication works for your DD.

I find your comments on getting help for your ds very interesting too. My son is struggling a bit at school but had no diagnosis, so I keep wondering if I'm going to be going down that road next. I'm all ears to hear what you're learning as you go through it.

SunnyLikeThursday · 19/08/2017 08:04

I just had a big clear out of all the stuff that was important to me pre-baby. Stuff like 20 year old make-up that I never worked out how to use, 15 denier tights that wouldn't have lasted 20 minutes in actual use, and old clothes that no longer suit me. I have a lot of space now to put stuff that is actually useful.

I also found the stash of foreign currency from when I used to travel for work. I had to travel so much that I just used to shove it in a drawer for next time, rather than exchanging it. I have 135 Euros in notes, 120 Canadian dollars (dh's), 199 American dollars in notes, 1000 peseta note, and about a stone weight of random change. How odd to think back to those days, and how different things are now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/08/2017 08:43

I wonder if that peseta note is worth anything on eBay now they have the euro. The rest must be worth a couple of hundred pounds, just in time for Christmas too.

Sea I had a stomach ulcer & omeprazole was like having a fire put out it was fab.

£13 yesterday on pizza & non alcoholic lager, fresh chicken stock reduced to 50p for the Christmas gravy & vegan cheese. The cheese was gopping so I'll be returning it for a refund.

Swapped the blue denim jeggings for turquoise, the blue premium jeggings are better than the standard ones. If I get 175 nectar points by Sunday I can have the purple too..
