ememem84 · 09/06/2017 07:49

I'm seeing an awful lot of "gtfo Teresa may scum" "Tory scum" "may to die" shit on Facebook (from close family....)

It's bizarre how so much of this will affect me. But I can't exercise me voting right. Although saying that if Jc had won outright we'd have been worried here. Offshore financial centres crown dependencies are something he hates and wanted to bring back under direct uk rule. In the extreme if that happened I'd be out of a job. No advantage to having a finance industry here no jobs.

Snuggly Shock glad things are looking okay now. Are they going to let DS out soon?

What a night. Phew. This is going to make Brexit much more complex but will hopefully soften it and introduce a spirit of compromise which was completely lacking.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/06/2017 09:32

Snuggly Your poor wee boy, it must have been very difficult looking after the girls while he was in. Can he go home soon?.

Laska5772 · 09/06/2017 10:05

Em I cant see thst happening under any govt.. but admit i dont know much about how CI is regulated. But would be a massive change and didnt happen under previous Labour govs. But Brexit must be more worrying..
Anyway back to reality I am actually inthe office.. better do some work!Sad

.

ememem84 · 09/06/2017 10:13

laksa neither can I really. I bet too many people from uk have their money stashed here in various offshore structures for them to worry about it.

Our gov here have mooted for a while now about becoming fully self governing. At present we can refer to the privy council and high courts if needs be.

Saying that, the islands were ignored during the war, and the crown didn't want to help out then.... so why take them back now?!

Anyhoo. Things are going nuts here. Calls from clients to buy gbp. Buy gbp shares etc. Hopefully next week the initial panic will settle down..:!

As I said. It's going to be interesting to watch it all play out. Just hope the correct decisions are made b

snuggly sending hugs to you and your babies. I hope ds is on the mend, and they let you out soon Flowers

Quiet day here, just got a cake to decorate for ds birthday tomorrow. Angry birds. We shall see, I've got all day and tomorrow if I need it

Election not a great suprise. I'm a bit crap on politics, but if there's no working overall majority, does this mean that a lot of the truly awful ideas just can't be passed? They have to debate and amend until enough mp's vote things through? If this is the case, then surely that's good enough for now?? Ugh, am sick of it all.

Have just spent £60 in asda. I always do this just before the June birthdays. Need wrapping paper...fill a trolley, and repeat.

Coppersulphate · 09/06/2017 10:50

Good luck, Snuggly, hope he is ok. Thanks for good wishes.
Tired as stayed up to watch election.

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/06/2017 11:07

Flowers snuggly

Tired here too. Only stayed up until midnight but DD2 got up at 5am. Unsure what to think about the outcome.

£40 in Tesco
£45 to breakfast/after school club

Trying to catch up on housework and admin. It still surprises me how a couple of days out at work leaves my home life so disorganised!

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/06/2017 11:08

Ooooh i bet the cake will be great lonely. You seem so talented at such things!

SunnyLikeThursday · 09/06/2017 11:25

Take care Snuggly.

So amazing to hear how your DGS bounced back Copper.

I'm really so glad about the election. I'm cheesed right off about the austerity and want shot of it. Ds watched Jeremy Corbyn's speech and said "He's giving me hope already." I felt so glad, and so sorry that had all this rubbish to deal with in his early years.

Went to ds's class assembly this morning and ended up discussing European politics in broken french with a Parisian financier who is a grandad of a classmate. Life is so very very different these days, from the life that I expected to grow up into. Shifting sands, somebody called it today, and I really think that says it all.

SnugglySnerd · 09/06/2017 11:54

Thanks everyone. We should be able to take him home later. Luckily our wonderful mums have stepped in to look after the girls.
I've been at the hospital but gather the house is a tip and we have no food in so it might be a take away tonight.

They don't feed parents on the children's ward so I've spent about a week's food budget on food and coffees from Starbucks at the hospital which is where I am now having a break now dh is here.

Quite excited about the election and very pleased to hear Copper's dgs is doing so well.

SnugglySnerd · 09/06/2017 11:55

That's not a criticism btw the care for DS has been amazing.

LonelyOversharer · 09/06/2017 12:35

snuggly here is a tip! This is my wonderful cutting table after trimming cakes, doing buttercream and fondant (marshmallows melted and icing sugar, who knew it was so easy) and dipping lindor's in green candy melts! Needless to say I didn't move my sewing stuff first. I bet your house is in much better shape!!

Mums can be a godsend in an emergency. Mine certainly is, I know I'm lucky.

copper so pleased for your dgs! That's really brilliant that he's bouncing back already.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/06/2017 16:54

Snuggly Everyone's house is like that when a relatives in hospital. It's always chaos.

Copper It's amazing what kids bounce back from. It took me ages to get over the Ga never mind anything else.

£80 nail art supplies got my next course, I used a prepaid MasterCard for the other £100. Still got a few items to get but there generic items so cheaper.

Nails are pricey.

I'll make £19 matched betting at 18:30.

ememem84 · 09/06/2017 17:33

Trying to work out why I feel so grrrrrr today. And worked out earlier that I haven't been drinking my fibre drinks. And haven't um..."been" for a few days (since Tuesday). That'd do it. Sigh. Fibre drink, a warm water when I get home and green tea. Usually the trick is strong coffee and eggs. Probably shouldn't. Haha!

£3.50 on a tuna melt wrap with onions for lunch. Mmmm. Then 85p on a twirl this afternoon.

Tomorrow's plans are: washing. Copious amounts of washing. Can't hang it up to dry as have had viewings on our place. Sigh.

Then a wardrobe cull. I've been wearing some of my not so nice clothes this week (mostly tops) but just don't think they suit anymore/don't like/don't fit. So am ebaying.

I looked at what I thought was a lovely maternity dress earlier. Tried it on (£55 in jojo maman) and it made me look about the size of a truck. So didn't buy it which is a shame.

Wandered through the white co too as have a 15% off thing if I spend over £50. Saw a lovely grey slouchy hooded cardigan. Tempted but 80% cashmere. And I figured that it's probably not practical for babies. Sigh.

Went to a supermarket I don't normally go to this afternoon after ice cream and park with friends. Always dangerous especially in a massive superstore type thing! £58 although half was DD's birthday outfit (dress and 'heels') which is from Grandma's money as her present.

I just realised all I've eaten today is granola and ice cream! I will enjoy my lazy dinner.

Also I got a product test organised today! I messaged a company on the off chance and told them
about the Caglets, was honest that I haven't written on my blog for ages (since pregnancy basically as I have been so knackered) but if they'd like an early tester for their product... and they said yes! Score! :)

Also turns out the appointment for DD on Monday is very likely to be THE appointment. It may end up differently because usually they would've consulted with school by now not that they would've been any bloody good anyway, hence us leaving in the first place - so they may need to get more info first... but it's likely that at the end of the 2 hours they will say whether or not they think she has autism. FUUUUUUCK

LonelyOversharer · 09/06/2017 18:13

em I was never sure how the models in the Jojo catalogues looked so glam, I always found their clothes very frumpy once on! Some of the best stuff I had was mail order from Vertbaudet. Went to a shop in France once, and spent €€€ as had a toddler was pg and dd1 always fitted their slim cut so well.

cag sounds like you've had a lovely day. Fingers crossed for dd's appointment x

We're a quiet lot today apart from me, as usual post election fatigue?

ememem84 · 09/06/2017 18:44

Ooh I also tried on dungarees. So comfy. But I looked like a dork. And they'd be difficult to get on and off when I needed to pee. And I looked like a dork.

Now settling in to watch orange is the new black. Yippee!

Lonely Lots of make up, fake bumps & pinning.

AdoraBell · 09/06/2017 19:07

Definitely take away snuggly and yep, mess is to be expected when DC are ill.

Love the green dipped Lindor Lonely 😁

Spent £15 in the butchers and £2 something in Holland & Barret on spices.

MeadowHay · 09/06/2017 19:24

Snuggly I hope DS is ok (and you too!) Flowers. Don't worry about the Starbucks money, needs must!

Cag Good luck with DD's appt, although I had two appointments and me and DH had to fill in massive questionnaires in advance of the second one too.

I'm finding the election result all just hilarious. I'm calling that we'll have another election within the next couple of years and then a Labour win. Theresa May is already facing calls from her peers to step down soon, the DUP as far as I understand it cannot even vote on 'England only' issues (so that rules out lots of education, health, policing stuff etc), Brexit is massively splitting the Tory party as it is and lots of people voted 'leave' without truly understanding the implications and when all of that becomes clear I think they a lot of ex-Labour voters will jump back again...but seriously though May has made such a mess of all this it's actually hilarious! :'D

My last day doing admin work today. I will miss this job, I liked it a lot, and my colleagues were ace. Uni finished, job finished (although doing some ad hoc work on the reception later over summer)...feels like I am in a weird place now. So much uncertainty. But also opportunity I guess.

Copper So glad DGS is home and well Flowers.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/06/2017 19:27

Oh bless him Snuggle glad your ds is on the mend Flowers so stressful when little ones are poorly, yes thank the Lord for supportive mums!!

Cag eek I guess will be good to get a definite diagnosis though.

Bit of a crap day here, I have had a banging headache all day and then dd managed to come off her bike on the way home from school, blood every where and a very fat lip Shock debating if I should take her to a&e as think her top tooth went through her top lip Shock She has only just calmed down though so will leave it for a bit!! Honestly she would win prizes for her bad luck!!

Was meant to be going out tonight for a world do but have cancelled as too much going on here.

Tories and DUP sound like a match made in heaven Hmm
