It was supposed to be raining heavily all day here, but it cleared up after a bit this morning. I sometimes like walking in the rain, especially if there's a hot chocolate awaiting you afterwards Smile. Hope it's dry for Beaver Camp though, Sunny.

I'm waiting for the gas safety engineer to come to disconnect my gas cooker. He was supposed to be here at 12! I've had to send the handyman who was here ahead to the new house with a list of jobs written down. I'm panicking in case he doesn't show up. Honestly, the anxiety late running trades people cause!

ememem84 · 27/06/2017 13:59

Very generously work have given me compassionate leave for dhs aunts funeral tomorrow. Suprised as it's not even my aunt iyswim.

Lsd today. Seminar over lunch at which they provided sandwiches yay! But £1.78 on a bag of popcorn and a Diet Coke.

Am using up the change in my purse. Determined not to go to the bank until Saturday when I go riding for the last time.

Am in a dilemma with a first world problem. In December I paid £432 for my gym membership for the year. I've used it on and off. It will be up for renewal in December this year.

Because I paid it in a lump sum, therefore saving myself money I have the added benefit of being able to freeze it for up to 6 months. Do I freeze until October, this saving myself ££ or do I keep it and take up swimming then take the hit again in December?

Life and love Flowers

seacow I think that if you want to carry on breastfeeding then life's idea of bf in evening/nights and ff during day is excellent. However, you have an awful lot on your plate and although I am ebf I am not sure I'd manage it with another child, regardless of additional needs! You sound like you're doing great though and I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you xxx
Loving my squish too! They're the best aren't they?!
Oh and nearly forgot - I'm quite big boobed but struggled to begin with and what saved me was nipple shields. They're definitely worth a go even if breastfeeding advisors frown on them as they helped me get established and able to feed in different positions x

100yearsdotcom · 27/06/2017 14:17

I don't know if this will be the same for you but ime whilst pregnant, especially late on, I had the least pain in water and really enjoyed my swimming and aquanatal, so if that's something you think might be true for you it might be worth keeping for now.

100yearsdotcom · 27/06/2017 14:17

Sorry that was at em

Coppersulphate · 27/06/2017 16:17

Just catching up
Wow, meadow, well done, clever girl. What next??
Legal training? Barrister? Solicitor ?
And Cag, well done on getting through that diagnosis. At least you now know the schools were shit and the Caglets were in the right and should have had proper support. Maybe there will be support from the education service for them. Is there any education service left?
And apply for the disability benefits for them. My friend gets it for her autistic son.
Shower screen is awesome. Saddo!😀

LonelyOversharer · 27/06/2017 16:31

Not sure I'd have the motivation to go to the gym 6+ months pg em I found the fatigue really ramped up towards the end. I'd freeze it, sit on your bum for a bit, and hit it hard when ds is 3+ months old (you'll not want to be away from him for a second, 'tis truly weird), and you need to practice handing him to Grandma for a while, before returning to work.

On another note, does everyone call their own parents Grandma/pa once you've got dc? I feel odd calling my mum 'mum' now!

Big shopping day. £50 aldi, £60 morrisons, £64 on a tonne of builders sand and mastercrete, £21 feed shop and £175 getting my poor little car back. Dp has transferred me this back, but still owes me for his glasses.

seacow do whatever is right for you, it will be hard to work it round ds. Can you cbeebies him? Dd has had your colostrum at least, which is super important, milk is a bonus! If you can keep going past the toe curling stage, it does get so massivley easier to bf. I'm wondering if it would it be less distressing for ds to not have his sister crying for food (while bottle is warmed etc), I'm being clunky with my words, sorry. I mean will the crying baby upset ds more than not having your full attention?

ememem84 · 27/06/2017 17:37

Signed up for aquanatal (or preggo whale swimming as dh so kindly puts it) on Tuesday of next week. I bought a preg-kini the other day (maternity tankini as just didn't feel comfortable in my bikini any more!) so may as well give it an outing. Keeping gym membership. As aqua natal is free on this. All classes etc are included. I could do a different class every hour of every day if I so wished and had the time

Re handing baby over to grandparents...that will be happening as early as possible. Hopefully. Obviously I have no idea how I'll feel. But the plan is get myself recovered from any physical stuff. Get a routine down. And once I'm happy and comfortable dm and df will look after baby boy for one morning a week. So I can go riding/gym/get nails done etc. I imagine they'll pop in every day or so - mum said she'd come by every day for an hour so I could shower if I wanted, but I've said no. We need to work that sort of stuff out ourselves.

weve already decided that baby boy will go to nursery two weeks before I go back to work. Less of a shock for me. I imagine his first nursery day will be tough on me as will my first day back at work. So why make it doubly hard by doing them both on the same day.

Dh has said well go out one Saturday night a month and someone (dsis or dm and df) will babysit. We want him to get used to them asap especially as my parents have kindly offered to do childcare for up to 2 days a week so we can reduce crazy nursery fees (full time at one I looked at was around £1800 pcm and we don't qualify for any free hours).

Waiting for my courtesy car to be dropped off....

Em I think it's lovely that you want your ds to have such a good bond with your mum. It's a really good idea because then he will love going to see her Smile

I've just done my first load of car insurance quotes and it's gone up so much! I'm definitely looking into the lease car...

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/06/2017 18:28

Spent £33 in sainsbury sale. Fgs

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/06/2017 18:36

Hi all just checking in picked up my boycats insulin today which is £56 Shock but should last a good 5-6 months all being well.

No other spends, dd has hurt her toe so giving footie a miss tonight.

Pay day today Smile

Budget for July - extras.
Approx £300 for car service and MOT - will clean out my car savings fund but has to be done.
£100 childcare for the summer hols
£40 getting the carpets cleaned
£30 on some new bras, I currently only have one bra that is comfortable!!

Otherwise going to try not to fritter any money as need to start saving for the summer hols...

ememem84 · 27/06/2017 18:51

Dh has meal planned. And is off to the shop in a bit. He was aiming to get a weeks shop for £20 or less. I've added biscuits and washing powder so reckon we can do it for £30 or under.

Dinner was Dahl flatbreads and curry fried veggies. Yum. And #accidentalvegan

wreck I think it's important that he gets used to them asap. I mean they'll be helping us out a lot so I want him to feel comfortable and not scared.
I say all this now but could change my mind and not let him out of my sight until he's 18. Good mamas boy!

HaHa Em at aged 18. My DD thought this. Now they are thinking about boarding school !!

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2017 19:22

I think the gym could be an excellent social outlet for you em, also some gyms have bars & that's no bad thing. Babies usually love gp.

Cag Did baby have its legs crossed? I'm going for girl.

Wreck Just get the lease car.

need pmd you.

£10 portable BBQ for the holiday.

£8 ready meals and cola.

I did a nail art course today. It was fun, draining and intense but fun.

Cagliostro · 27/06/2017 19:34

Yup fluffy baby was in a right awkward position, couldn't see the sex, or check heart properly or legs. Didn't even get a photo!

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2017 19:39

Well sounds like a girl to me, only revealing what they want you to see.

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/06/2017 19:44

Good plan with putting baby em into nursery a couple of weeks beforehand. It will make it easier and he may even have his first nursery illness then before you go back to work sorry if this is news to you . I didn't with DD1 but ended up putting DD2 with the childminder one day a week about three months in advance as I needed to book her as they are like gold dust here. I did some Keeping in touch days but mostly chilled out and it worked out well when I went back as DC were settled

£44 in Tesco
Cheque for £40 written for three days of sports club for DD in the holidays which works out quite cheap childcare but is run by a teacher

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/06/2017 19:47

I also didn't leave DD2 enough with my mum before going back to work (she was doing a days childcare) so your plan is good em ,

MeadowHay · 27/06/2017 19:53

I'm doing a job application, and it's a form on the computer I'm filling out, and there were three pages of boxes for the 'personal specification' bit, but it says on the instructions for it that two pages is the maximum and anything after that will be ignored. But the form itself comes with three pages of boxes...if you type more it will continue to four or more pages for example, but I don't understand why it came ready with three pages to fill in if I'm not supposed to write more than two? What shall I do? Confused I'm not a seasoned professional job-applier yet lol. It's also a really good job but I'm in a right rush as I found it a few hours ago and it has to be submitted by midday on the 29th.

WreckTangled · 27/06/2017 19:58

Courtesy car still not here.... They said early evening.

Cagliostro · 27/06/2017 20:05

Ha fluffy lots of people have said that! All their girls were hiding :o

Meadow can't help on that issue, I bloody hate filling in forms and I get all panicked :( also just wanted to agree, I wish I had been diagnosed earlier myself. I don't resent the fact I wasn't really - when I was a kid there just wasn't the awareness about high functioning autism, especially in girls. But I'm so glad there is now, because I would hate for DD to go through years of wondering and shame. I really think the diagnosis will help her :)

Finally bought some baby clothes. Only two bits as I actually felt a bit 'meh' after the scan.

Loveabaconsandwich · 27/06/2017 20:07

meadow is the application form on the internet? If you let us know what it is we could have a look?

Is it three blank pages? Or is it one page of personal details etc to fill in and then two pages to write your personal specification? I'd only do two pages, no point filling in the third page- maybe they are checking you can follow instructions Hmm

needastrongone · 27/06/2017 20:11

Sounds like a plan Em. It's no bad thing having some separation. Hard as it is for the mother, and it certainly bloody is at times, it's a good thing too.

Sounds like a long day Fluffy. But good?

Bloody hell wrecked, you are having a time of it with that car. Lemon chicken and cous cous was fab, thanks.

MeadowHay · 27/06/2017 20:12

Bacon Maybe, but that seems like a really weird and sly thing to do Confused. It's at this link: Job if you scroll down it says 'HCA Application Form' at the bottom.

ememem84 · 27/06/2017 20:14

meadow I'd keep to two pages.

When I look at cvs at work I tend to put those over two pages to the bottom of the pile. I saw one the other day that was 6 pages. It listed all part time jobs back to paper round when applicant was 13.... don't do that. Keep it relevant.
