Girlie Hi! I'm here, I lurked a little yesterday and now caught up properly. It was sweet to ask after me though.

Got a job interview! For the court usher/admin position that I really want. It's not for another month's time but it's good timing as was already going to be up north then, hitching a lift with my parents after my graduation to go and house-hunt (rental ofc).

Today's spends:
£19 in Superdrug on toiletries.
£16 on getting my face threaded, also in Superdrug - haven't had it done in ages and was beginning to feel like a Werewolf lol.
£53 in TK Maxx on: undies for DH, PJ bottoms for me, socks for DH, socks for me, and a hat for DH.

Lovely weather here today and apparently the next four days it will be 27 degrees Shock.

Wreck Happy birthday (am I a bit late? sorry!)

Em You are tiny for a pregnant woman, your MIL is a nasty piece of work isn't she!? Angry I sorta know how you feel, my MIL has said some horrid things about me too but then she's very ill so I know it's nothing personal and other times she's dead nice to me so -shrug-.

MeadowHay · 16/06/2017 14:19

Oh yeah, Lonely, I wanted to say I agree with you about sizing being bonkers. There's so much vanity sizing now and different shops have like completely different sizing I swear, and even within one shop you can be different sizes in different styles of jeans etc, it's so confusing! I find I have to try most things on and I hate trying stuff on as dressing and undressing takes me ages because of my poor coordination and then usually it's in a tiny cubicle and I trip around and then sometimes the ones with curtains don't bloody close properly and I don't want people to see me and it's usually boiling and urgh. Horrid! Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/06/2017 14:42

I'm bigger than 20 years ago but somehow two dress sizes smaller. Most odd.

£2 card
£4 tampons and coffee beans
£7 Aldi top up shop.
79p sponges for nail art.

I'll get £10 match betting. I have another £45 free bets to play but I need liquidity in my Betfair exchange & it's tied up till 8pm. Hopefully do more later. I was hoping to clear £50 today Sad

Cagliostro · 16/06/2017 15:24

I dread to think what size I actually am without vanity sizing!

Managed to walk to AND from the park today which I haven't managed much at all since I first got ill. Woo!

DH has agreed we should invest in a base ten maths kit. Not just for my teaching but for DD too who really needs hands on stuff. We can afford it now but I still need to find the best value - starter kits are far too small to be any use TBH

OMG em Shock you are amazing to be so laid back! Sounds like it's a very good thing that she won't be able to afford lots of trip over to see the new grandson! I'm glad your dh is standing up for you.

Congrats on the interview meadow

CremeEggThief · 16/06/2017 16:11

Fair play to your DH, Em. Sensible to stay put for now too.

At the train station, waiting for our train to London for the Guns N' Roses concert tomorrow. Can't wait now!

CremeEggThief · 16/06/2017 16:12

Congratulations Meadow.Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 16/06/2017 16:56

Well done on getting an interview Meadow Star thats fab news.

Busy but productive day here, took the cats for their boosters which was good. Vet happy that they are both happy and doing well, boosters are part of a pet plan I pay in to so didn't cost me anything however needed to get girl cat some more meds (she has an auto immune condition) so they cost £22. Vet also worked out which insulin works out best value for boy cat and mentioned a diabetic care plan which you pay into but get the insulin, needles etc included. Will see how we go but atm don't seem to be spending too much on all the stuff.....

Had my smear and realised I knew the flipping nurse doing it Blush oh well all done for another three years!!

Did a shop in Morrisons which was £47 only about £35 of that was food, the rest was cat food, loo rolls and plants other stuff.

Was the school fayre after school which was nice, gave dd £5 to spend which she did in about 20 mins!! Came home after that Grin

Dd is now busy sorting her lego cards out so remind me if anyone needs some, we only need 15, 61 and 107 now.

Cagliostro · 16/06/2017 17:53

Interview meadow yay! Fantastic news! 🎉🌟

Em I am really glad your DH is on your side about your batshit crazy MIL. All too often on threads I see that it's often the DH who is the big problem when they refuse to grow a pair and stand up to their Mummy!

ememem84 · 16/06/2017 18:26

Yes meadow awesome news! Woohoo interview! -go shopping for a lovely empowering interview outfit. 😀😉

creme concert sounds ace. Maybe not exactly my thing but saying that give me live music and I'm happy. Love a concert me!!

Had lunch with my lovely friend. Smoked salmon and garlic cream cheese galette and salad and a lemonade. We then shared a waffle with icecream. £11. Le yum.

She ranted at me about her work woes. I told her more on the mil saga. She wanted to know why I'm so calm - I put it down to hormones. Haha! She suggested I get a hormone balance/imbalance test after the baby -part of me wonders why someone who was usually so highly strung and anxious is now so calm and chill. Maybe it's age, maybe it is hormones maybe it's because things are finally falling into place. I dunno.

Dh is totally one hundred percent on our side now.

He's making veg stir fry for dinner.

Other spends today £11.50 on a clarins travel size pack. Eye make up remover, toner and cleanser. All stuff I'll use and was reduced from £24.

I didn't need it but had moped around my fave stores this afternoon looking at clothes that won't fit. 😩😂

Classic emotional spender me...!!

Oh dear, I had to go into town to pay in a cheque...and Treds was shutting down so had a massive sale, I got boots from £45 to £16 whoop whoop. Sorted for winter.

Off to lion king tomorrow paid for ages ago.

Em enjoy your home it sounds perfect and ignore the mil.

SnugglySnerd · 16/06/2017 20:50

Em, your MIL is outrageous. Sunny has it right she's straight out of Jane Austen!

Spendy day. Finally bought some sandals £50. I'm going to wear them lots round the house incase I decide they don't fit after all and have to go back. I need really comfy ones for my long pram walks but I have bloody awkward feet! They are ££ for sandals but should last a few years assuming they fit.

Then I went in the charity shop and spent £6 on some lovely kids' clothes. All Next or M&S, all 99p and all look brand new. Best bargain was a lovely M&S dress for 99p. It looks unworn and I have 2 girls who can wear it now!

Had lunch out but just a panini and a coffee so not too expensive.

Just realised I've been out two days running and sat in cafés and looked round the shops. That must mean I'm getting the hang of things with the babies!

mammymammyIRL · 16/06/2017 21:06

ememem84 · 16/06/2017 21:20

mammy hahahahahahahahhahhahahahahaha!!!!

No.

We're going for ds in his own room in his cot as early as possible. Our spare room has a double bed. Idea being we put ds to bed, we go to bed. If ds wakes in the night (while I'm on leave) I'll get up (Sunday to Thursdays) sort him out then crawl into spare bed in case he goes off again. Dh will do the Fridays and Saturdays.

Friday evening I have WineWineWine food, food, food, with lovely DH who I dont get to live with enough as he works away all week.. Then we have put the world to rights ..

I am a bad woman... Sorry.

Laska's Motto : if you cant be a good example, you had better be a terrible warning.. (Yup thats me!)

spend this evening £89 dont ask.. !

Laska5772 · 16/06/2017 22:28

mammymammyIRL · 16/06/2017 22:39

mammymammyIRL · 16/06/2017 22:40

Em two couples I know did every second night & one still do, he's almost 4! One sleeps with him every night. I did every night because dh works extremely long hours truck driving & it's dangerous for him to be tired & he's even more cranky than usual

mammymammyIRL · 17/06/2017 07:24

Last one on last night, first one here this morning Smile

Spends today will be on alcohol & babysitting, maybe newspaper too although haven't read last weekends yet Grin

Laska5772 · 17/06/2017 07:45

Morning mammy oh dear posting whilst squiffy!Blush thats bad... slightly fuzzy head this morning... Actually we dont phone or email that much , sometimes just twice maybe. Weve been doing this so long that were used to it and of course now wehave no kids at home day to day life is a vit different. But we are both planning on finishing work this year and then we will have to live together full time Shock!! Grin.
Im getting a shed!! ( for me!!) .. no seriously it will be different but we have our motorhome plan and thats really exciting .

ememem84 · 17/06/2017 07:59

Morning!

Today's spends will be:

£25 riding
£20pork pie and scotch eggs, nice cheddar piccalilli and a nice beer for Father's Day ploughmans gift for ddad. Pie is £8 on its own. Homemade from a local piggy farmer. We've bought bacon from them before as a treat. Pigs are left to run wild and free in the fields. They are treated like kings. Respected etc. And taste delicious.
£?? Father's Day dinner treat out with family. Dsis will go halves.

Dh and I are going to do a declutter tomorrow. Then eBay stuff. I'm going to try and be fairly ruthless. There will be things I will keep for after baby (clothes wise - bras jeans my favourite tops etc) but I think some can just go. If they don't fit now there's no point hanging on to them especially if they're old (some I remember buying when in my old apartment - 7 years ago...).

Will use the money to top up "baby boys" savings account. Once he's here will actually set one up for him but for now he's got my penny account.

Em I've noticed that you're super-chilled since becoming pregnant too. The same happened to me. I was much calmer during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and could cope much better with sleep deprivation than I ever could have before. It wore off when ds weaned, and I'm gradually coming back to my normal less bullet-proof self.

I think we're getting a bit of traction on medical issues here, perhaps. My new GP is helping and I think perhaps starting to listen rather than just criticise. I feel a bit positive about that. I had to do a bit of standing up for myself and ds, but it perhaps worked, and it felt good to be heard.

Does anybody else feel ragingly angry for all the poor people (people in council accommodation) who are being run roughshod over by the government at the moment? That fire in the towerblock really said it all for me. I feel that we need political change really urgently. Or something.

LonelyOversharer · 17/06/2017 09:06

Morning all.

Hormones are truly weird. The only time I've been super confident and felt capable dealing with other humans is when I was pg. Normally I'm very timid. If I'd realised this before, I'd probably have had 8 kids, not 4 4 is enough!! as I prefer the confident me, not the always-trying-but-getting-nowhere me!

My weeked baking has started. Already made 3 lemon mediera cakes, and 4 platters of flapjack. So quiche, carrot, choc cake, millionaires shortbread etc to go. I'm going to go and get some 5l water bottles for tomorrow, it's predicted to be 26°- cycling 70 miles at 30mph is going to cause heat stroke for some of them, it's usually raining here! Got loads of little water bottles yesterday too.

We went to costco last night, spent £160 and £15 on food, but the shop paid for it all!! Mostly water and big bags of sugar and coffee, but did get some books for dd2. Having trouble finding birthday stuff for her. She's 11 on monday, and she's too big for toys, too young for money, isn't sporty, takes good care of her stuff so doesn't need new phone/tablet/ds... am going for crafty, but her pressie pile will be pitiful!!

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2017 09:49

Ugh I've had precious little sleep last night. DH and I were both up every hour from 12-5 with the babies. If you could bank sleep I'd be recommending it to all the pregnant frugaleers!
Just enjoying the sunshine while DD plays. Thought we'd better come out this morning before the sun gets too strong.

Hoping for an NSD. Need to go to the library but not much else planned this weekend.
