New house sounds lovely Em and TBH, while it feels a bit horrible to the 'old vendors' to pull out, a house purchase is too big a thing to compromise on. And if they are dragging their heels it makes it much easier!

Cag you not at home then? I missed that goldfish brain

SnugglySnerd · 09/05/2017 19:25

We had 7 veg sauce this evening, Need!

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/05/2017 19:46

Wow seacow you really know how to get things done/organised when you put your mind to it! I'm very impressed

em house sounds good

Angry about the medicine wreck. Schools do bang on about attendance a lot (not saying it's not important) but they don't make things easy for parents

Laska5772 · 09/05/2017 19:47

ooh post the 7 veg sauce recipe someone please? (ive missed this one,, )

I am eating cabbage, yes cabbage - cooked with butte,r juniper mushrooms , stock , onions garlic.. Its really nice actually.. I often just eat big plates of veg when I am here all week on my own,

spends today were £19 in coop , (i only went in for cabbage and mushrooms) . bit for that I also got 2 large organic local chickens reduced ( one in freezer , 1 in oven right now) 4 huge packets of organic chicken breasts reduced ( to about 75p each) , 2 big packs of reduced mushrooms , butter and big head of island-grown garlic.

The one I am cooking will be Mnetted to an inch of its life as usual and will do me the next two days lunch/dinners ,stock and a green Thai curry for Friday ..

Ahh.. Barney (LaskaDcat ) had just jumped up on the desk and is dribbling, purring and pawing me! It seems that he really loves me!.....must bedinnertime

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/05/2017 19:51

Ooooh other bit of news. Think DP and I may be on the same page (finally) about me giving up work. Have a vague plan, won't resign until we have to sign up one way or another for september's childcare which is likely to be end of June Smile

Won't be telling anyone at work though. I want to get as much as possible out of my last few months Wink

CremeEggThief · 09/05/2017 19:59

Busy, busy, busy Frugaleers.I'll have to catch up later, as I haven't got time today.

Spends: 49p on a muffin from Lidl.

WreckTangled · 09/05/2017 20:08

Mmm Creme was it a blueberry one?? They're he best

AuditAngel · 09/05/2017 20:35

Hello all, me again. I really need to spend more time with you all, (and less with my credit/debit card)

Yesterday and today (so far) NSD, but need to do a food order.

Tomorrow will need to pay £10 for karate for the DD's. Thursday I have a night out, but it is for work, do they will pay for travel, including a taxi at least partway home as it finishes at 11.15pm at Tower Pier in London. My plan is to get a tube to Richmond, then cab from there.

Also have £125 dancing fees to pay for the 3DC and £1 police cadets subs for DS.

WreckTangled · 09/05/2017 20:42

Ooo hi audit!

Argh I feel like I might be getting a uti 😭

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/05/2017 20:47

Drink lots wreck. Water that is.
Hi audit, is it you that have DC who do lots of dance shows?
Say nowt until you need to love.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/05/2017 20:49

I like that colour need. I may have also just ordered the JO superfood family classics too as I needed to make an Amazon order up........whistles innocently.....

Cagliostro · 09/05/2017 21:06

Hi audit long time no see! :)

Yup seacow am in a holiday park on south coast. Cheap as chips off peak (but spending a fortune on food TBH) it's a bit chilly but having a lovely time despite being full of sneeze :o

ememem84 · 09/05/2017 21:46

And it's bedtime. Dh is off to Sweden tomorrow lucky bugger for work.

Back to work for me tomorrow after a nice chill long weekend. Three day week though. Yay.

Hair cut tomorrow then baking after work.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/05/2017 21:56

Ah yes, I remember you booking that Cag. Are you with a home ed friend, is that right? Rubbish timing on the snot though.

Love when I worked full time I was very productive because I had to be! I'm out of the rhythm though, so even I was surprised at what can happen when I put my foot to the pedal Smile.

Have crashed a bit tonight though.

needastrongone · 09/05/2017 22:05

Lovely to see you Audit.

Life You definitely won't regret that book purchase. It's my 'go to' book. Enough challenge to make you feel you have actually cook something, but not so difficult that it puts you off. All healthy stuff without being fanatical, just good fresh ingredients.

Good news there Love, that both of you are singing from the same hymn sheet.

Laska that's loads of stuff at the Coop! Well done. 7 veg sauce is very easy. Chop up 2 onions, garlic, 2 sticks of celery, peppers, 2 carrots, courgette, squash and simmer in some oil with seasoning. The veg list can be variable according to season. Simmer for 20 minutes, add in 2 tins of chopped tomatoes and half a tin of water. I also whizzed up loads of fresh herbs from the garden. Simmer again. Whizz up smooth. Makes loads and loads so lots of freezable portions. I chopped in some sausage tonight and rocket. Tomorrow maybe tuna or ricotta and lemon. It's a really healthy basic sauce that is frugal too.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/05/2017 22:09

Have made peace with my garden centre spends as the garden looks so lovely and I have made a flower basket by using a wicker laundry basket that I picked up at the reuse shop for £2.50, thats pretty frugal right? Have planted fusias and sweet peas in it and think it will be beautiful once they all start growing and flowering.

Is Wreckshit = Brexit?! Grin

Theresa May is seriously doing my head in, bringing back fox hunting now - great Hmm

Laska5772 · 09/05/2017 23:00

Cool thanks Need that will go on my ' to make' list.. will try it out at weekend..DGS (now 4 and a half!) is coming .. Hidden veg!!

Girlie . yes, it is! I originally typed 'Wrecksit' up-thread (which I plagarised from the Guardian comment section this mornng) but Meadowhay transformed it into 'Wreckshit' .. Definately more apt!! .Grin

I might just have bought a pair of gold metallic crochet Toms Blush Bad Laska .I already ordered cream crochet ones yesterday (but cheaper than the ones I linked to above, as they are 'classics') .. My Tkmaxx shoes order hasnt yet arrived yet, but I cant keep everything..

Right. Time for tea, bed and book, (before I spend anymore) ..

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/05/2017 05:21

DD2 got me up at 4.15! It's going to be a long day. Currently snuggled up together in our spare bed whilst she kicks me and snuffles and coughs loudly (she has a cold). Almost time to get up though.

Been reading the MSE money tips email so doing some frugal research. Comparison on the cost of things like cotton wool between the baby aisle and beauty aisle in shops is interesting, I expect someone has already mentioned it here.

mammymammyIRL · 10/05/2017 05:53

Place marking - nsd again yesterday
Today will be €40 on fuel for my car & au pairs my bank are doing €5 back on fuel over €40.
I need to get up & get dressed make lunches etc & be gone in 20 mins. Going to a free bootcamp class at 6.30am
DD woke at 1.30 & I was in her bed until 20 mins ago & feel like I didn't sleep at all Sad

Bacon that's a major development!

Overpaying the mortgages is so wise, ours is a tracker so we'll just plod along with it.

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 06:23

Cag are you near where I work? The place you went to before?

Oh no bacon!! I expect it was getting light though

We have a frost Hmm I have stat training today 9-4 but parking is free. It's a good hours drive though near to gatwick airport.

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/05/2017 06:40

I know mammay! I do worry that I will change my mind though and MN will be very disapproving as I'm not married. Might work on that though as I'm sure DP will be interested in the marriage tax allowance Grin.

DD has blackout curtains and a blackout blind wreck. Not sure how else I can make it any darker! Hoping once the cough/cold go she will sleep better

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 06:53

I have a fun day planned.

Ds had 21 maths questions for homework yesterday and can't do any of them 94% attendance really paid off this year then. Fortunately has a filthy cold today so we're going to stay home and try to learn the whole of year 2 maths in one day. SATs next week. WooHoo!

Quite relieved to have the time to talk to him about it all. I knew he was stressed about maths and now I know why.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/05/2017 06:53

Good I feel like shite.
Got to get a few bits from Morrison's today which will be about £10 plus another £10 for a leaving collection and buffet.

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 06:54

Em That sounds very sensible to switch houses. Sink and worktops sound splendid.

ememem84 · 10/05/2017 07:42

I've been awake since 4 am. Sigh.

Back to work today. Haircut after work so haven't bothered washing it today.

After work and haircut and dinner I'm baking cupcakes for bake sale on Friday. Vanilla cakes with Nutella inside then chocolate frosting and chocolate cakes with vanilla frosting and chocolate drizzled over.
To raise money for local skin cancer charity in memory of an aquaintance of mine (friend of a friend). She was the same age I am now when she was diagnosed and sadly hers was too advanced to treat.
People from the charity are coming in to do free mole checks (if we want) and have provided sun safe leaflets sun screen and in bands etc as well as tons of info.

We're aiming to raise £500 with the cakes (seven floors in our building - different businesses on each floor so we've told them to ring our doorbell and pop in for cake) and our directors have said whatever we raise they will match.

Dh is off to Sweden today so it's just the girls (me and catface) and bump until Friday.

Monday is the day I find out whether baby is pink or blue. I am excited. I read some old wives tales yesterday. And half of them said it was a girl. The other half boy. Haha!

So planned spends today £42 hair cut.
