Abx for ten days for a bacterial throat infection! Ds is a proper trooper as he's hardly complained.

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 17:36

the Iris dress Need the one with the blue and white triangles.. ..

Actually its much too expensive for what it is.... (but im keeping it anyway, will be great on Greek holiday)

If I was good at sewing like lonely I could make it for very little....

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 17:43

The runner beans are planted out! .and well slug pelleted .. I know its not good for birds but slugs are not good for baby bean plants!!. Ive never found a dead bird yet around my veg patch.. . ( though the pigeons which stripped my pak choi last year could do with deading..) Id eat them!!

I've cooked a harissa chicken on my Cobb ' ( its like a slow bbq smoker /braai.., Really great for joints and it was smelling great all the time we were gardening.. Am starving now.. its been a long time since my Blueberries and Yog for breakfast) .. Time for a shower and a seedlip and tonic!! Smile

Its been lovely hereand Ive been out in the garden in my shorts and vest top.. and been bitten also (grrr Angry insects love me Sad)

Did you have wet ride Em?

Laska5772 · 06/05/2017 17:53

Cobb - they are great for camping as well.. Ive had mine several years and use it as much as my normal bbq.. Shoulder of Lamb done in it is divine!

SnugglySnerd · 06/05/2017 18:00

Goodness you lot have been busy today, it's taken me ages to catch up but I was so pleased to read fairly positive news about Need's dpony. I used to ride a horse who suffered a spiral fracture and he recovered, it took a while but he got back to normal eventually.

Thanks for the new thread, Fluffy

mammymammyIRL · 06/05/2017 18:29

Look who's arrived this week!
Two will go to dh's sil & one will remain here. I've not spent any money since wed Smile

I've now got a six drawer chest of drawer free for art & stationary supplies. One drawer houses biros & envelopes (most padded ones kept to reuse & bringing 10 into work for use there)

Love the bucket analogy

laksa it was ok actually. Not as wet as I thought. Just wore the waterproof jacket. Was nice actually. Pony was well behaved.

Dh is still out. I'm still watching Netflix.

Had pasta cheese and black pepper for dinner. Apparently it's the new cool thing per the Waitrose magazine.

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/05/2017 19:00

Thanks for the thread Fluffy. I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling good. I hope it clears up quickly for you.

We had a quiet day of gardening and doing a beaver badge today. Both cheap activities, which is good.

allthebestplease · 06/05/2017 19:05

Thanks for thread.
£30 Lidl.
But did buy a scooter for dd from eBay for £60 but that saves at least £50 instead of buying new. I want a scooter for me now to do the school run.

WreckTangled · 06/05/2017 19:20

Poor Ds has got really gross medicine. It's penicillin.

Ahhh kittens! 😻

£15 macdonalds
£2 sainsburys on a new water bottle for ds. Resisted all the yummy looking chocolate and wine that was on offer.

MeadowHay · 06/05/2017 19:30

Wow, you have all been very chatty today!

Exhaaauusstteeed after having such a long day today. But a good day. Just tiring. yawns Also super spendy Blush.

Spends:
£2.20 DH's bus fare to town.
£12ish on paninis and coffee for lunch for DH and I which we had with one of his uni acquaintances that we hadn't seen in years.
£14.50 in dessert parlour for DH and I after our volunteering as I felt sad and needed cheering up Blush.
£2.20 DH's bus fare back home from town.
= £31.20ish Blush

Also our kitchen light is broken, grr. We thought it was just the bulb, but then when we switched all the other lights off at the fuse box, the kitchen light suddenly comes on and works...but as soon as we switch the lights on at the fuse box it goes off again Confused. So need DH to call letting's agent on Monday to ask them to send electrician out I guess, unless anyone here has any suggestions about how we might be able to fix it? Because they will probably take forever to send someone out and it's a pain not having a light in the kitchen!

Need Really glad about DPony! Flowers I wish him a speedy recovery.

Sunny £5 a week does sound like a lot to spend on the birds unless you have tons of money. Grin

Mammy Love the kitties.

mammymammyIRL · 06/05/2017 20:56

Meadow that sounds like a lovely day except for kitchen light.
I just broke my NS streak on The Daily Mail(love the magazine on Sat) and a box of Pringles Grin
I needed to get out of the house Grin

CremeEggThief · 06/05/2017 21:12

Aw, so cute, Mammy.

Sorry to hear you're under the weather, Fluffy. Rest up.Brew

Definitely, Life.

For anyone looking for a good film, "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves" has just started on C5. My crush on Alan Rickman (R.I.P.) began with this movie; it came out the summer I was 13.

NSD. Jacket potatoes with cheese and coleslaw for me and cheese and pesto for DS. Just chilling now with some pear cider, a Bounty and my mermaid blanket, fairy lights and a Yankee tart burning. Lovely!Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/05/2017 21:20

I love Alan Rickman, he was a fantastic actor

user1487175389 · 06/05/2017 21:24

I've come to confess my sins. Today I spent nearly £60 on clothes in H & M I couldn't really afford. My justification for this is that my existing clothes are actually falling apart. I know it's no excuse.

To compound the problem, I also spent £40 on equipment that's needed for the business I'm trying to set up. I've been beating myself up about it ever since.

ememem84 · 06/05/2017 21:44

mammy kitteeeeeeeeeeeeesss!!! So cute!!

Picked dh up from the rugby. Absolute mess he is. I've retired to the spare room. He usually falls asleep on the couch then crashes to bed at about 4am.

So to prevent the wake up I've removed myself and catface

He is not going to be happy tomorrow morning at early o clock when he has to scoop her litter tray 🐈💩

Coppersulphate · 06/05/2017 21:52

Fluffy, thanks for the new thread.
Need, I am so, so pleased and relieved about Dpony. I'm sure he will be fine and DD will probably enjoy looking after him.
Mammy, what cute kittens.
Lonely thanks for the picture of the Liberty print. It looks beautiful. Love the dress pattern.
Wreck, both my DCs lease their cars. They reckon it is the cheapest, hassle free option and the deal you will get is a good one. Just make sure you check the mileage that is allowed in the deal. I know you do a high mileage and that may well be factored in. DS does a high mileage for his work and didn't consider it and had to pay a big penalty at the end of the contract.
And hope you feel better soon Fluffy.
Wreck , hope DS improves.
Spends day out with friends. But enjoyed it.

Coppersulphate · 06/05/2017 21:54

Love the bucket analogy. I am going to have a "fuck it" category in my head.

LonelyOversharer · 06/05/2017 22:41

Oh I love prince of thieves. I recorded it in hd last week, so I can watch it again and again, like I did revising for my a-levels! The tree on Hadrians wall (5 miles from home in sherwood forest eh Kevin Hmm) is just a few miles as the crow flies from us. Makes me want to watch the movie every time we go past.

Doing lots of work tonight, and ran the dogs with the bike as well. They are now suspiciously quiet.

Love the kittens mammy

LonelyOversharer · 06/05/2017 22:43

Is it the revolting licorice flavour one wreck ? Thats the worst one we've come across. I hope your ds feels better quickly (not that that will help the medicine go down).

needastrongone · 07/05/2017 06:49

Life. I would quite happily tell you to f**k off if I thought it necessary. And we are very similar, I just keep going and going until the cracks appear. And I really like the bucket theory, as well as the 'fuck it' shelf. Yep, mines full. It feels a touch less full for having some peace in the house though, you are right. I need the head space at the minute. And I need to accept parking stuff on the fuck it shelf until I've time/energy to process it. This week will help.

I would love you and Creme to visit any time you want, I suspect we would all get along very well. My only caveat would be that you feed the pony gin and me the carrots and polos and see what happens Grin

Ta x

needastrongone · 07/05/2017 06:56

If my typing is weird today guys I apologise. My laptop has lost all colour, takes 3 attempts to boot up and is generally dying. However, it has lasted 3 years, was only a cheap Chromebook for £150 in the first place and has served me brilliantly and frugally well in that time and I would actually recommend if you just want to basically browse and do low key stuff.

It's a work laptop and I've just ordered an Ipad as a replacement. This is new company policy and we've transferred our stock and data onto Ipads as the guys have needed new ones. Taking them out to clients and looking professional as we have been able to afford it as a business.

Nice dress choice Laska.

I loved Prince of Thieves at the time, AR was brilliant in it!

Wondered where you were Meadow and glad all is well.

My laptop only shows are strange splodge for the kittens so I'm unable to say awwwww!

Night out in town last night but we went early doors and had tapas and 3 G&T's each. Still, we were in the posh area of town and is was expensive and I spent £50 in total.

DH gave DD £20 as she went to town for a TGI's with her friends.

Loveabaconsandwich · 07/05/2017 07:03

Gutted I missed Robin Hood. I love that film

user keep the tags on the new stuff and then if in say three weeks time you haven't used/worn it then return for a refund. Means you don't need it if you haven't actually used it. Or return sooner if you know you don't need it already!

Hoping for a NSD and a usual chilled out Sunday

user1487175389 · 07/05/2017 07:27

Thanks Loveabaconsandwich, I'll do that. It's weird how I don't even want to put the clothes in the wardrobe - such is my guilt!

needa thanks for the chrome book recommendation. My notebook is on its last legs and if I'm serious about this business thing, I need a laptop I can rely on, so I'll bear that in mind.

WreckTangled · 07/05/2017 07:48

Copper the lease car is cheaper the more business miles you do...

Lonely yes it's phenoxymethylpenicillin and it's horrible!

Dh isn't working today woo hoo! This makes me ridiculously happy.
