Came home to find a note on neighbours car. Aimed at us. Essentially when we park he thinks we're damaging his car. We're not. I've made sure to park enough away so I can get out of the car.

I'm tempted to have words. Dh ushered me indoors though but I mouthed off (his windows were open so know he's home and can hear me) about how pathetic it is to have a sign in your car at all times etc. Same neighbour who's also blamed me for the horse poop on our car park (told me I need to clean up after my non existent horse - he's seen me with hat and whip going to lessons every weekend. There's a racing stables at the top of our hill and he's put two and two together...obviously it must be me). Twat.

Dh thinks maybe I could do with a nap. He says I'm grouchy today. he's right

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 18:21

On a more positive note I've just made a quiche. From scratch. Pastry and all.

MeadowHay · 21/05/2017 18:26

Em I'm not surprised you're grouchy after the night you've had and then having that prick of a neighbour! Be kind to yourself. You're allowed me to be grouchy when men are pissing you about. Glad catface is friends with you again!

Wreck Hope you're ok Flowers Brew.

Seacow Hope ECHP work is going ok.

Sunny Glad you had a nice day!

I did read back but I'm sorry as usual I can't really remember much Blush.

Today was supposed to be an NSD but ended up spending £20 on a birthday present for DH. His birthday is not for a few weeks so have put it away (wrapped) on a bookshelf and given him strict instructions not to peep! It's art from a local artist.

Nervous for my exam tomorrow as I'm not as well-prepared for this as I was for my last law exam, eek. Will get DH to test me on cases later. He is busy making us dinner now.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/05/2017 18:38

Cag our dds sound so similar, my dd had a patch like that around the time of her SATs but has managed to settle again now the pressure is off, hope your dd does to. I hate owing money (makes me very anxious) so for me it would be a big priority to pay off the cc.

Em i get the feeling your dh is going to be in for a huuuuuuuuuge shock when babyem comes along!! You might want to remind him that not all boys like footie ime kids have their own ideas on those sort of things Grin glad he apologised tho.

Wreck a shared ownership house sounds good, def worth finding out about and filling out the forms. Sorry things are shit with your dh Flowers

We have had a lovely day, its been really warm and sunny. My dad came over with his little dog and we took the dog to a local dog show! He came 2nd on waggiest tail and dd got 3rd for best child handler, she was very pleased Grin spent about £5 I think of entry and drinks.

Spent £15 in the co-op on food for the week.

Laska5772 · 21/05/2017 18:38

NSD today..Smile
Dh and I spent the morning on houseworkand laundry , (exciting... but we have DMil and DBil with us next weekend so wanted to get bedrooms properly hoovered out, beds made up etc... (Unlike many on MN, I really like my DMil so looking forward to it .. and DBil is also great..) .. DH is so much better at cleaning than me and actually likes doing it ! ( great eh? )

This afternoon was spent in garden - I feel like I may have caught the sun as was warm enought to wear shorts and vest top,.. Have planted out my sweetcorn plants and the courgettes and squash, and dug out another veg patch..
I reckon I may just plop this evening,, Dh has now gone back to mainland for the weeks work.
Dinner (just for me) was the rest of the roasted veg from yesterday with a fried egg on top and splash of chilli sauce.. rather yummy actually.
I have dentist appt in the morning , but thats just a check up.. I'm not expecting any problems..

needastrongone · 21/05/2017 18:42

Good luck meadow, for tomorrow.

Em, well done on the quiche, pah to the neighbour. He won't be your neighbour much longer.

Wrecked/Mammy I'm here on the Angry at DH bench. Least mine (sort of) has an excuse.

Not drowning is always a bonus Lonely.

Grin Fluffy.

Spends today $50, paying for Prom and an post exam trip to Alton Towers.

I'm pretty shattered too, I've even had a short nap.

Roast chicken dinner.

Made a huge quinoa salad for lunches for me this week, will add tuna, egg, cheese daily.

Also made brownies which are less healthy but yummy too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 21/05/2017 19:02

£20 in sainsbury on stuff I forgot. £50 car fuel.

Open air museum packed as it was a celebration of empire day. Lots of services, cadets, scouts and guides there. £1.65x2 for tea as CBA to carry a flask

Laska5772 · 21/05/2017 19:05

WineChocolateCake for all with 'D'Hs his evening..

Sometimes the fact that mine works away all week is a good thing , but soon we will be retired and I wil have to live with him full time!! (eeek,) we've not done that for about 20 years!!

I, it goes without saying, am an absolute utter joy to live with all the time - He of course understands this fact!! but not if I dont get coffee first thing Grin

needastrongone · 21/05/2017 19:07

Grin, yep, I'm perfect tooGrin

Sounds like a good day life, I'm with you on the flask thing tbh.

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 19:14

Thanks all for indulging my rant and for the kind words.

I've also just nailed a katsu curry. Tasty le yummers. 😀 Threw all my angry energy into it.

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 19:19

Laska5772 · 21/05/2017 19:20

I fancy Chicken Katsu Em though never had one, . Dod you n make yours? Recipe?

I do a mean Turkey schnitzel so I suppose that could be a good base to start with . I bake my schnitzel rather than fry.. using medium Matzo meal (a friend taught me to do that as that was what his mum used to do)

WreckTangled · 21/05/2017 19:24

I love katsu! Looks delicious em

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 19:29

laksa id never made it before. I found the recipe on Pinterest allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/29578/chicken-katsu-curry.aspx

It was easy actually. The only tricky part really was breeding the chicken. Maybe next time I'll buy pre-breaded stuff.

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 19:30

Using matzo meal does it make it crispier??

Laska5772 · 21/05/2017 19:42

I dont really know em. It is a bit of a messy process breading the schnitzel as you need to mix the matzo with the herbs and spices you are using and then dip the flattened turkey breast pieces in an egg and garlic/lemon mix and then the matzo meal..(I often do this twice over to get a good coating). Then i bake them on an oiled sheet and drizzled with a little more oil.. They do go crispy , but we then eat them as they are with salad and slaw or salsa..

I wonder now - seeing the recipe for katsu - if it really would make much much difference if one was to just use pre breaded chicken.. because the main flavour is mainly coming from the sauce I would think.? .

SnugglySnerd · 21/05/2017 20:03

Wow you lot have been busy this weekend, have just caught up.

Love the quilt, Lonely, I wish I could sew. I'm saving baby clothes for a memory quilt but I'll have to find someone to do the actual sewing.

Sorry to hear about DH and Catface, Em. Pleased he has apologised now.

We've had a busy weekends and managed not to spend any money. Have spent a lot of time wondering why babies wake up and cry every time we sit down to eat. Every single bloody meal. I can't wait until they start solids just so I get to eat something hot with them sitting at the table !

Cagliostro · 21/05/2017 20:03

Oooh that's making me hungry. Giraffe do an amazing katsu noodle bowl. I need something spicy! But instead I shall have the second half of the can of tomato soup I opened yesterday :o

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 20:06

laksa I bloody love a schnitzel though. Mmm. There's a restaurant here which serves it with fries with a. Gigantic helping of cheese bacon sauce. Mmm.

CremeEggThief · 21/05/2017 22:20

Spends: £7.85 on a Pret lunch and £2.95 on a mocha. Had to help out at a school /church event, so needed lunch and a coffee in and around waiting for buses, on a Sunday hourly service.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/05/2017 02:41

Still up. Still working on the EHCP for DS. It is so bad, I didn't realise how bad until I started trying to make amendments yesterday Angry. They've messed up the admin and broken the statutory guidance all the way through, I shouldn't be surprised but it is shocking. I really don't see how the process will be complete before I have the baby, and yet i can't imagine how I will plough through all this paperwork with a baby in the mix too!

Need to THINK CALM THOUGHTS eat Maltesers

Had a takeaway tonight as I didn't have the time to cook. My chicken tikka masala was a violent coral-y pink colour... hoping the baby doesn't come out a funny orange colour now. Like a little baby Trump.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/05/2017 02:49

Oh and DH extensively scratched my newly painted baby bedroom door in the process of trying to shove a chair through that was too wide. I swore at him. He snapped at me. He had no common sense, it drives me crackers!

Joining the 'DH is on the naughty list' group.

ChristmasSeacow · 22/05/2017 05:07

Urgh. Birds are singing. Dawn has broken. I'm off to bed, up again in 90 minutes.

mammymammyIRL · 22/05/2017 05:21

I'm awake seacow I slept in spare room for possibly first time since we've been together & now that dh is gone to work I'm gone back to my own bed, don't want dc asking questions!. I'm just so cross, I was civil for our family day out yesterday but he never apologised. He took it upon himself not to attend counselling this week as he was going to gp for a different matter so then I was the one who suffered an outburst instead Angry
I read here on mumsnet it's not an anger management issue if it's only the spouse & dc he can't control his temper around.
Me staying in spare room might show him that it's not being brushed under the carpet this time. Grr

We had a lovely day out yesterday and all I spent was €2.20 on charity donation & we put €20 into a child's birthday card as both dc were invited to party at softplay centre

This was a outdoor drumming & Zumba session we attended yesterday
