I think it's a girl Em based on absolutely nothing

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 08:17

Sounds great Em!

Cag Do you happen to know of any fun games that teach division? We did really well playing darts to teach ds subtraction. Doing it the boring way with dividing sweets into boxes and lego men into batallions is okay. But a proper competitive dice game or board game or something would be so much better. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

My frugalleer challenge at the moment is resisting the temptation to go to the open day at the local private school. So tempted, but 15k a year is a lot of money, and there's no guarantee that they could teach arithmetic either. My mum used to make a bunch of money tutoring kids from private schools

Laska5772 · 10/05/2017 08:24

Boy, definately a boy.... (based on only having a boy myself!!)

In a bit late as I am going to straight unison meeting this moning to hear doom and gloom about our new tory councillors and our new tory MP candidate ( our old tory Mp had to stand down a couple of weeks ago after telling a class of 16yr olds that Gays were a danger to society!! .. its nice here in the seaside sticks but sometimes I do want to move back to Brighton

I think im due a hair cut apointment today but mine only costs £16!! (pixiecut) so some advantages to being in the seaside sticks!!

Rght i had better get in car and negotiate the yokels, tractors and cows clogging up road .. (will be school buses)

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 08:43

Em If you're taking bets on baby gender I'd like to bet on it being a girl. Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/05/2017 09:45

I reckon a girl as well Em and a boy for Cag Grin

There is an app called Hit the Button thats good for maths Sunny helped dd with her timetables but also has division etc. She has two math tests today Sad roll on tomos when its all done and dusted.

Its lovely and sunny here so planning on doing a bit more in the garden, going to take a couple of things to the tip and have a general tidy up. Need to pick a couple of food bits up but hopefully no more than £10, also want to do some baking.

Thats a lovely thing to do Em skin cancer is scary, I have cared for some really young people who have died because of it. I am a big advocate of sun cream!!

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 10:27

There's no coffee on this training AngryAngryAngry

SnugglySnerd · 10/05/2017 10:34

I think it's a boy, Em.

Need I spoke to soon yesterday, we were up loads last night. I'm bloody knackered!

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 11:17

Girlie I need to start wearing a hat. I'll try harder. Thanks for the game recommendation. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/05/2017 11:25

I was thinking the same as Girlie.

Any healthy baby is a result.

Wreck Is there bottled water instead?. The NHS runs on hot drinks and slightly dog eared biscuits from a roses tin circa 1990.

ChristmasSeacow · 10/05/2017 11:43

I've had a lot of NHS tea and coffee from NHS urns and IME they are rarely properly hot. They might have five you s favour there Wreck

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 12:14

No drinks supplied at all! It's so boring I'm struggling to stay awake. Just sitting in my car with the radio on having some lunch.

MeadowHay · 10/05/2017 12:22

Laska Omg, I genuinely read what you wrote as 'wreckshit', hahaha! Grin I didn't realise I changed it slightly. Freudian slip!

Wreck That training day sounds grim Hmm.

I have a fairly busy day ahead (for me, anyway). Two hour revision session with my mentor soon, then popping into work for a couple of hours to start writing these reports I have to do. Then come home and need to clean out the guinea pigs and then make tea for DH and I when he comes home from work. It's hard because I am easily sleeping 12hrs a night at the moment because of my fatigue so I lose so much of the day just being asleep.

I also ended up spending an extra £3 yesterday on a sandwich at work because of bad organisation but my anxiety was through the roof so it couldn't really be helped. Today should be NSD I'm hoping though. Asda shopping coming tonight, well timed as DH used the last of our milk this morning on his breakfast (don't begrudge him it but still annoying!). My fault though as I'm 'in charge' of organising the grocery shopping. Do you find that with your partners you both have your own sort of personal chores that you always do? There are some things we share but usually we have quite well-defined jobs each. E.g. I always do the grocery shopping and he always does the washing up. Although for us there are a few jobs I can't do because of my sensory issues (such as washing up) so he has to do those, so then I guess I tend to take on the other things otherwise he would end up doing everything.

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 12:35

Saw this little article about introverts thought some people might like it here

My car is saying 22 degrees. Lovely.

ememem84 · 10/05/2017 12:45

£50 in boots on clarins. I needed new moisturiser and scrub as mine have run out. I also got a full size scrub, a travel eye make up remover and a hydra quench serum for free in a cute beach bag, double points plus an additional £10 worth of points. So essentially it was probably free the amount I got back.

My friends dd who is two thinks the baby is going to be a puppy. Or a bunny. And it's going to be called "cutie [her name] face"

As long as it's healthy it doesn't really matter. 😀 But I think dh desperately wants a boy. Someone he can talk sport with! Haha!

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 13:07

Wrecked that's great, that thing about introverts. We had a very similar discussion with the school. Ironically, one of our main problems at home is that ds is so sociable that dh and I can't keep up.

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 13:29

I though you might like it sunny.

Just woke myself up jumping in my sleep BlushBlush

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/05/2017 13:37

Thanks Wrecked I really did. I've done that jumping in sleep thing too. Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/05/2017 15:12

Just been reading about the poor girl who died at Drayton Manor Sad heart breaking and frightening, dd is off on a school residential next week and am feeling even more anxious about it now.

Have had a lovely day gardening and pottering about, off to pick my girl up from school now!

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/05/2017 15:30

On my way home from work and should be home before 5pm. First time in almost 3.5 years!

£3.80 on lunch

Hilarious moment earlier- seniorish person who really shouldn't be seen doing this, was asleep in their office Grin

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 15:34

Did you get a photo bacon?!

I'm nearly finished then got an hours drive home but that's ok. Cheese burgers for dinner!

WreckTangled · 10/05/2017 17:44

Home. Fed up to walk in to a mess in the sitting room so tidied that then annoyed to see the kitchen messy (I left before Dh this morning but sorted the dc's clothes, school bags and made all the beds Dh did dd's packed lunch). The dw hadn't been loaded and the table hasn't been wiped down from dinner last night. There's also a basket of clean washing on the floor which has been there since Sunday evening when Dh got it in (I washed, dried and folded three loads he's washed and dried one but just left it?!). Humph. I should start dinner but I'm going to leave it for him to do because I said when I started working every day he would have to help me more, not that he doesn't do anything but I can't do all the day to day stuff now. He said he would but he hasn't really.

Whinge over Grin LSD. £3.60 on lunch.

CremeEggThief · 10/05/2017 17:45

95p on a doughnut.

I know, Girlie. How did it even happen? Devastating newsSad.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/05/2017 18:03

That would piss me off too.

£21 driving licence renewal. It's less if you have a biometric passport but I've never had a pp.
£3 stool
50p lettuce.

Cordials turned out not gingery enough. Going to add a tb spoon of dried.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/05/2017 19:21

£35 in Morrison's.

Cagliostro · 10/05/2017 19:43

I generally imagine em with a little girl! :)

No idea on mine though and it's gonna be a long wait for you all if I manage not to find out :o :o (not sure though as they now have the ultrasound on a wall TV so you can see the whole thing - so surely if there's, erm, evidence of the sex then I can't really miss it?!)

The annoying thing today is that DH had a letter from the bank and they're refusing his packaged account refund thing :( they said because he'd moved up from a regular (free) account that means he knew it was available. So being pressured into upgrading isn't enough apparently. Will absolutely have to do the balance transfer now - this is so embarrassing but we decided not to as we really thought, going on others' experiences, that the refund was a dead cert Blush and that we'd be able to pay it off in full using that money. Dammit.

The good news is I managed to take the Caglets swimming today, obviously without DH, and I feel fine! Really good in fact! I have found it exhausting in the past and get worried about dizziness but we gave it a go and I'm really pleased, I've been wanting to go swimming more and I think now I can manage it without having to wait for a rare opportunity to go with DH (due to work, home ed clubs and needing to use the pool off peak). Hurrah!!!

Unfrugal though as both underwires have poked through on my costume! Blush
