fluffy it's all lovely! I love Gorey (east of island with a castle) and st aubins (most west) both have great restaurants.

If you stay in st helier hotels can be pricey depending on which one you choose. But there are loads of self catering options. Busses are great from st helier.

If you are seriously thinking about coming over and want recommendations on where to stay let me know.

ememem84 · 13/05/2017 20:49

Also re the car - not sure yet. The police came round this afternoon and dh spoke to them and showed them the damage. They've reported and we're going to speak to the kids we think did it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2017 21:00

Thank you, Jersey ticks all the boxes for us. Just need to get Dh on the plane. And money.

When a young relative of ours damaged a neighbours car by accident his parents house insurance covered it. His dad was not impressed!.

It's odd. We've moved here for 7 years and no issues. Then last night suddenly this. It's bizarre.

I said to dh that I bet it happens again tonight as saw the same kids (I think) hanging about. Earlier this year pre pregnancy we had been talking about getting a new car. I'm glad we didn't.

MeadowHay · 13/05/2017 22:01

Hi all.

Cag I'm really happy you got your PIP. I am really sad I have all this extra stress I'm not going to lie but I'm really glad you don't have to go through the same thing. And tbf the first time I applied for PIP I got enhanced rate of both components a few weeks after my home assessment which was great. So I had a good-ish first experience of PIP. Then it all went to shit this time lol. I deffo think you should treat yourself to a little holiday!

Spent £1 on scouring sponges today and that's it so LSD. Volunteering with our refugee children went well. Poor DH got stuck playing about 3 billion consecutive games of snap with a large group of children which was really hard for him lol but he's amazing and managed. The children are already getting so much more confident at speaking in English after just a few months of me being there, it's really lovely to see.

Enjoying Eurovision, but I used to like all the mad shit and it's so much more boring these days, mostly same-y pop songs in English, nowhere near as much fun as the mad old days.

Thanks to everyone who congratulated me on my oral exam btw. Next exam is Tuesday now, sigh. Two weeks though and then all done...

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 22:04

Thank you meadow I'm sorry you are having such a battle with your application. It's really scary how cruel they are being to people with anxiety etc. Just so nasty :(

Watching Eurovision too. I missed the first few but I think Cyprus might win, that was seriously catchy.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 13/05/2017 22:08

NSD today, DH wanted a takeaway but I said no, got to try and regain control of the purse strings.

Tomorrow Wilf and I are going to see Lego Batman, it's kidsclub so cost us £5, I'll buy him some popcorn too so probably another £5. I'm going to take a can of coke and a bag of skinny popcorn and some breadstick in my handbag. Classy!

Packaged some things up to return to amazon and sainsbury, so two parcels to go tomorrow and one went today. Also got cashback through from December, £36 from the RAC.

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 22:40

Oh or Croatia. That was bizarre. Sweden was pretty catchy too

I didn't resist a takeaway today, nausea back in full swing and still coughing like crazy and even pasta was beyond me! DH will have to eat the sausages I was going to put in it.

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 22:48

Not that I could actually stomach eating it myself lol

Coppersulphate · 13/05/2017 23:11

Absolutely brilliant news Cag, soooo pleased for you. You needed some good news after DD was bullied.
Lyme and Charnock, are great. DGD is also a big Mary Anning fan and the museum is awesome. They can dress up in Mary Anning type clothes and you can book on fossil walks. Brilliant place

AuditAngel · 13/05/2017 23:11

Day iPad is playing up and keeps sending me back to the bottom. I'll catch up later

Thursday £1 for DS Police Cadets subs; £4.49 lunch in KFC (on the run) £14 in M&S for tights. (And laddered one pair) £7.10 on Oyster travelling to/from an event in London, £28 taxi home from station at 12.30 am, £5 for a drink. This was a work event and I can claim all if this.
Friday £100 for DD1 sailing course, lunch £6.50 (I wax starving)

Saturday was very spendy. Took the girls to swimming, then shopping. H&M £56, shorts/bikinis/ various bits gif the girls. £63 in Primark, lots of bits for the girls, a kaftan each, T-shirt each. Included a party gift for Sunday for DD2.£6.75 in Greggs, salad for me, baguette for DD1 and doughnut for DD2; £4.50 parking

Tesco was a shameful £250. This was a 2 week shop plus shorts for DS and 3 bras for me plus a couple of pairs of pants.

£4 church donation.

LonelyOversharer · 14/05/2017 00:54

Baking done. Am burst so off to bed. Still got some chopping up to do, and need to butter the scones. Will do it before we leave at 6.

Have happy Sundays everyone!

Fluffys frugaleer thread. All welcome.
lifelongfrugaleer · 14/05/2017 07:17

Cracking baking lonely. Yy to you putting so much into the club. Hope today goes well.

Audit, dance question. I need pants to go under a white leotard with a sticky out tutu. I've got nude and hoping they won't be too high-rise. Have you seen any white on your costume travels. Average age 10-11

Spendy day today. Ds has outgrown his footy boots, he is at a party but I will need £20 to pay DD in. Both could do with footy strip's but don't need. And dh wants to go to try ferrero rocchier I've cream at a near by farm.

ememem84 · 14/05/2017 07:17

Omg life look at all that cake!! Yum.

cag nausea Eugh. How far are you now? Hopefully it'll start to ease off xx

mummy enjoy lego batman! I haven't seen it yet but I've heard it's funny. I like doing the lego movie. 🙂

Today's plans are: washing, tidy up a bit then miggt head to the zoo. It's free today (well free as in make a donation instead of paying) I think as Henry cavill is there. Yay superman!

Also need to tan up my legs. It's mid May and I'm still wearing tights. This is not right.

WreckTangled · 14/05/2017 07:28

Lonely those cakes look amazing!

WreckCat brought a bird in this morning. It was still alive. He loves us.

£6.50 for spinning this morning need to leave soon. Will probably die but need to try and shift half a stone in four weeks.

Then we're off to my best friends for a BBQ. Can't wait as I haven't seen her for about two months.

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/05/2017 07:35

Lego batman is good. Lots of adult humour too.

AuditAngel · 14/05/2017 08:09

Lifelong a couple of suggestions. I buy completely plain white.Sainsbury's for packs of 10 for about £5, but these are really plain, and I find a bit low in the keg. Tesco do some really nice ones, about £5 for 5 pairs, again, very simple, but with a nicely lace waistband. I think these would go below the skirt of the tutu, although for DD2 (6) I coukd see them on her, not helped by the fact they had to wear white tights and she us very olive skinned. M&S do a version too, but more expensive.

One alternative is to dye white ones with tea, so they go beige. To do this I stuck 2 teabags into a jug, let it go really stewed, then stuck the pants in until the tea was cold.

Final suggestion, you coukd try a pair of size 6 flesh coloured no seam knickers from Debenhams. I tried these a couple of years ago on DD1 but they were too big. Depends on how big your 11 year old is. I could try them on my 10 year old later when she gets back from Granny's house.

Our dancing teacher insists on plain white, then we spend all Showtime telling the little girls to tuck their pants in because they are showing!

lifelongfrugaleer · 14/05/2017 08:20

Thanks audit. I will be at sainsbury later so will have a look. There are 30 in my room of various sizes.

Cagliostro · 14/05/2017 08:37

Am 14 weeks em so really hoping it will stop soon! I had felt better for a few days so hopefully that's a good sign. :)

Hoping my PIP letter comes through soon so I can get on with applying for the other things like the bus pass. I only just renewed mine (£154 for 13 weeks) but DH can use it until it runs out.

I'm the only one awake in the house! Might start making a list of things I need to get done. Next up, maternity swimming costume. My regular one does still fit (only because I've lost 1st10lb between new year and pregnancy - yay - it was super tight when I wore it last year!) but the underwires broke out. And now that I know I can manage swimming again I am determined to take the Caglets more often. We are so lucky - there's a home ed discount scheme used by our local pool where if you go during school hours it's £1.50 per child and £2.50 per adult! Bargain!

Also really need a couple of hoodies. I live in a huge one with a print on but it's got holes in the sleeves now and it's the only one that fits. Not going for Redbubble again though as the print was fading after a couple of washes. But I'd go for the same size as I prefer baggy anyway and it should still fit the bump for a while. It's going to be weird having a huge bump in autumn - both the Caglets are summer babies! I'll be glad not to be super heavily pregnant in August though. :o

Don't even want to think about regular maternity clothes yet though. I'm mostly still living in my old work tops, I hate clothes shopping :( leggings would be a good start though I suppose, but that means I'll need some dresses/tunics? I have no idea. Hopefully not needed for a little while anyway.

ememem84 · 14/05/2017 08:38

Eugh dancing outfits. Brings back nightmares of my dance lessons when I was a kid. We had to spray our bums with hairspray to stop pants riding up. Do they still have to do that?! And the hair. Oh lord the scraped back hair sprayed so thickly with super hold hairspray it actually hurt!

Hoping for lsd today. We need washing up liquid.

Yesterday's spends were £25 riding. I felt comfortable enough to jump yesterday. Yay. Pony was behaving beautifully was really responsive and so I went for it. My instructor hasn't banned me from jumping per se in my "condition" but since she found out she's been giving me the option. Sometimes I've taken it. Sometimes no.

She's entering me into a competition next year. It was going to be this year but we feel it's too risky. So the first one next year. Eeek!!! But I've always wanted to do it. Ever since I was a kid! Even if I do appallingly I'll still get a "competitor" rosette. And to be honest I just want one rosette!

Have just home made pain chocs for breakfast in bed homemade being took them from freezer and bunged them in the oven I've never tried to make croissant or pain choc from scratch before. May give it a go one day....

Forgot to take off make up last night so my face feels very dry. Eugh.

allthebestplease · 14/05/2017 08:50

Just an idea regarding pants in primary get size 6 g-string type of knickers.
Off to buy a new to me oven (boo) £60 from eBay, luckily they don't live far.

AuditAngel · 14/05/2017 09:39

Please don't put primary kids in g-strings. One mum in our group did it (before we were there so her DD was 6/7) and even now people are commenting. In her first show DD2 had to go commando under a gold leotard as it showed whatever went under it. She wasn't impressed, but as she was 3 she did as she was told.

Just a thought, are they wearing tights? Ours wore H&M tights which are like opaque tights, in white, depending on the size they are 2 pairs for about £4 or £5, much cheaper than proper ballet tights. We also always use these for panto. Since they can really kill tights at panto, this saving is worth it. DD1 killed 2 pairs this year, and the other 4 pairs aren't fit for much else. I used DD1's ex panto tights for DD2 to wear for show rehearsals, only giving her new tights for the actual show, so 2 pairs used for 4 shows, and washed up fine for her for panto this year (will be her first year of Oshkosh, she only just missed out last year)

AuditAngel · 14/05/2017 09:43

I love the Next dress, I liked the floral the most. I have a £20 voucher from my birthday, so am very tempted. Our work dress code has been changed for a 3 month trial. Instead of business wear, if not seeing clients we are now in Smart casual. I don't have clients, although still need business wear for visiting other offices (I spend one day every week in Hertford office, and next week have a day in London)

Cagliostro · 14/05/2017 09:51

DD was told she can't wear knickers under her ballet leotard! Even for normal lessons. Eek. It's much stricter than her other dance lessons.

Cagliostro · 14/05/2017 09:53

Wow em that's so exciting!!! So would that be a jumping competition? Where you go over fences and stuff? [clueless about horses emoticon]
