Meatballs!!!

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/05/2017 15:40

cag frugal part of me says pay off a good chunk of the debt. But little holiday sounds good too!

ememem84 · 13/05/2017 15:42

Popped down to local Italian food festival. Watched Gino d'acampo do some food demos.

Refused to pay £6 for pasta and tomato sauce. Also refused to wait for an Italian meatball sub sandwich. Not waiting 35 minutes for something. Even though it looked awesome. 12" loaf, meatballs mozzarella, leaves, salami, tomatoes....

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2017 15:51

love Have you got a family card? They usually do offers for family cards & maybe a coupon at the kiosk. Cafe offers too.

Well that raises the birthday party bar somewhat Wreck.

I do believe it's a NSD.

Hi all, OMG Cag that is awesome news, am so so pleased for you Smile

So yesterday was a LSD £1 to dd for a cake sale at school and 60p for sweetie Friday.

Today def not a LSD Shock

So spends;
£3 parking
£8 Subway (dds treat lunch post SATs)
£7 on a fidgit spinner thing for dd.
£6 Wilko various bits
£7 Superdrug various bits
£6 on 3 plants for the garden which look lovely and I thought were quite cheap!
£32 in Boots, got my nice La Roche cream on 3 for 2 so saved £15, picked up some of the Boots own coconut shampoo and conditioner that everyone keeps telling me is really good for the price. The creams will last me ages now.
£2 on a couple of bits at a food festival that was on.

Eek my poor bank account, am hoping this months pay packet will be quite nice though as should get two months worth of petrol, plus some over time and a bank holiday I worked....

Dd is at a school residential next week which means I should be able to get through another week without needing to do a big shop!

needastrongone · 13/05/2017 17:32

I need to stop browsing for shoes on the internet!!!!

Spends
Tenner on an hours riding lesson for DD. First lesson on loan pony. She's a very good, honest sort with no apparent quirks. Extremely chilled out, not bothered for company, happy to stand for hours for grooming, loads well. Really all the things that Dpony isn't ha ha. Willing but needs more aids than ours, who you can sit on and he will do it for you. She's very unfit too, so was knackered and sweaty after a tough work out in a sand school.
Twenty quid on more bacon from the farm than I thought possible.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/05/2017 17:32

£9.40 on Saturday takeaway. £10 skatepark
Feeling much better so hopefully over the worst of it.
Our figit spinners finally arrived so 2 happy DC.

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 18:00

Glad you're feeling better life

Need stay away from the shooooooes!!! Not really. Shoes are fun.

I think I've found our pram. £££ for our budget but looks ideal for our needs TBH. It's on sale but is it too early to buy... especially when we have little space Confused. Wasn't planning to buy anything until 20 week scan.

WreckTangled · 13/05/2017 18:07

What are your needs Cag? What are you looking at?

ememem84 · 13/05/2017 18:13

cag which one is it?

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 18:14

Girlie am I right in thinking you've been to Charmouth as well as Lyme Regis? I've heard it's great for fossils, too. That was where we were going to go if we managed a longer holiday this year (as it would take ages to get there).

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 18:24

this one www.mothercare.com/search/?q=mothercare+orb

saw a friend with it and love the flexibility of it, also tempted because it can become a proper pram but without a carrycot attachment (which would be a right PITA due to having limited storage space - made that mistake with DD's pram!)

Main requirements are that it's easy to fold and good on public transport really.

WreckTangled · 13/05/2017 18:32

That looks good Cag Smile I had a mutsy evo and loved it. It went flat so could be used from birth (I didn't bother with the carry cot because of this) and I could fold it easily even with my hand issues.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/05/2017 18:53

Does look nice cag. What's the delivery times could you order it for later delivery.

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 19:10

Good idea life if I could delay it a bit that'd be ideal. I would want to go into mothercare and check it out properly first (couldn't ask my friend who has it as she doesn't know I'm pregnant :o) so can ask them too.

Evo looks lovely wreck I'd not heard of the brand before

Ho hum I seem to also be looking at holidays Blush Just looking...

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 19:25

I'm being sensible as well though and looking up things that I can now access due to my PIP award. Need to wait for my letter, but it's looking like for one thing I'll be able to get a disabled bus pass. Which would save over £600 a year!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2017 19:27

You could always put the money to one side & wait for the July sales cag Devon is lovely

Em That's a big paint job, will you go through insurance?.

Am also avoiding shoes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2017 19:33

em If I ever manage to get the money to visit jersey which area is best for resturants & pottering about & beaches? I don't mind a cab to the zoo but during the day we like to potter don't worry totally not a stalker I can go to Guernsey if it's weird

I had all the Gerald Durrell books when I was little.

Just noticed TCB has £1 back on Ben and Jerrys. Tescos had it on offer yesterday for £2.50

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 13/05/2017 19:52

Charmouth is lovely Cag but other than the beach there isn't much there, that said Lyme is 5 mins away and there are lots of other lovely places near by as well. For some reason the link to the pram isn't working for me... I was always a but superstitious about buying prams too soon!

HollyTheHarrier · 13/05/2017 20:01

Happy weekend all! Great news cag on the PIP, that must be a real weight off your mind. You definitely deserve a break if you can get one.

meadow well done for getting through your oral exam. I cried in my last ever French oral exam, final year at uni, just through sheer stress and panic when I couldn't work out what to say 😳 people I work with now wouldn't believe it if I told them given the nature of our job. It got easier with time, or rather I learned techniques to cope.

lonely good luck with the road race. Your stories make me so tempted to join a cycling club...

Have had a fairly quiet day as I'm still recovering from a stomach bug. Spent £22 on food shopping which should last the week with everything I have in already, and £5 on tea and a cake while I was in town.

Lovely evening here, might pop out for a walk as I'm not really up to running yet.

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 20:07

Ah cheers girlie yes it does seem much smaller. A friend said the beach itself is even better for fossil hunting. And would certainly go to Lyme Regis as well because of the museum etc. It's DD's dream! In fact I just ordered a birthday present for DD (10 next month!) - don't know if you've seen the Lottie dolls, they have a fossil hunter version. I know she will rename her Mary Anning (she wants us to name the baby Mary if it's a girl!) :)

Just watching the Masterchef final and then eurovision. Lazing on sofa as nausea has become much worse today

allthebestplease · 13/05/2017 20:07

Such a relief cag about your pip. Look on eBay for a pram, no point paying top dollar.
Our oven has died, I wish it had waited until we moved. So sadly have had to buy a take away, haven't bought fast food for 18 months.

£40 Lidl.

We are still being very frugal, trying to stick to £100 a week budget for all food, treats and going out spending. It's probably more like £120 a week. But a focus of the mind has highlighted how much frivolous spending I/we did.

LonelyOversharer · 13/05/2017 20:08

That pram looks good cag and it's got £100 off. Have you checked reviews? how I found mumsnet Could you order it to go to your parents if they have more room?

Had such a fun day! All 3 dd's in town. Dd1 is still a 34f (I thought she'd gone up a cup), and we got 4!! bras, one very pretty coral one, and three the same in different (pale) colours for school. She was excellent. £82.

Then we trawled about and got jeggings for dd1, two tops for dd2, a top and a hair band thing for dd3, h&m and primark £40 total with 2 beach towels, hairbands and assorted primark queue things. We got shoes for them in m&s, rose gold loafers (dd3), gold sparkly sandals (dd2) and silver plimsoles for dd1, almost took her to schuh for superga ones, but decided against (for now, tagged for Christmas though) £63 with a t shirt for ds too.

£28 in morrisons for lunch and condensed milk (millionaires shortbread becons tonight).

Dp just brought us a takeaway (chippy/Chinese) and I'm half way through my baking.
