Thanks :) yes it's backdated since mid December when I first requested the form.

At the moment I am just stunned and happy! I especially wasn't expecting an answer so soon, it's not even 3 weeks since the assessment. I was totally expecting to need the appeal because the conditions I have are so 'invisible'. I think I was incredibly lucky with the assessor, the meeting was ghastly by nature - talking through all the stuff I can't manage like normal people can - but he was patient and understanding etc.

Huge sigh of relief now, it is probably a one year award so I will need to reapply but at least for now it's taken the pressure off a bit.

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/05/2017 09:39

Well done Cag. That's great news. Smile Funny way to find out isn't it?

Mummysh0rtlegs · 13/05/2017 09:42

Best news cag!!!

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 09:43

It feels sort of 'right' - I know PIP is not an out of work benefit but it actually ends up being almost as much per month as I was earning from my very-part-time library job. And since I had to leave said job because of my health, it feels sort of 'balanced' IYSWIM. We have struggled so much more since I lost the ability to earn outside the home.

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/05/2017 09:45

Amazing cag that just must be so a weight off your mind not to have to appeal and with bumpcag on the way. And the money is already there!!! Cake

Ha ha laska I'm sure your worry will be unfounded when I catch up on spends later Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2017 10:09

Oh I am so pleased for you Cag, does this mean you get priority housing now?.

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 10:20

I don't think it would affect the housing as we are already band A having done the health application stuff, but I am not bothered as we are ending up about 35th on the list ATM - which suggests it could be under a year until we get somewhere! :)

Things are looking up :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/05/2017 10:23

Hopefully sooner if someone above you moves out of the area.

My driving licence is back, I can start match betting next week when I'm off.

cag great news!!!! Yay!!!

Catface got in the box. She wasn't happy about it but we got there.

Vet said nothing too wrong with her eye. But has given us antibiotics in case it flares up.

She's still the same weight as she was last time. So we've been told to feed her biscuits only. And to get an auto feeder. So dh is going to look into that today.

Have also just had to make a police report as our car was keyed overnight. It's most definetly deliberate as it's a wavy line pattern. No way would a car door or something make that.

There were kids hanging around outside last night too and apparently they'd been ringing doorbells in our building etc. So our building manager lady is also going to report to the police.

Gah.

laksa yay horseys!!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/05/2017 11:33

That is great news cag - very pleased for you.

Good news about catface em.

125 of your English pounds in Sainsburys. Too crappy to go to Aldi but DD owes me 9 and 10 was a birthday pressie.

If anyone gets the lego cards from Sainsburys and doesn't want them please can i have them - i will cover your postage and any fees associated with posting them. Thanks

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/05/2017 11:46

life will probably have some spare cards. Giving DD1 them as a treat every now and then but have loads (as in 20 sets yesterday!) from DM. So should have some for you but may be a while

Taytocrisps · 13/05/2017 12:09

I've just done my weekend catch up.

Sunny my main two pairs of jeans were bought in Next and Debenhams. I have them years and they're still going strong. But I don't have a dryer so maybe that's why. I tried on a pair of skinny jeans once and while they made my legs look like drainpipes, they made my arse look ginormous! So I stick with regular jeans.

DD was awarded lots of badges at beavers and cubs but they were mainly group activities/projects so everyone got the badge at the same time if they participated. The badges usually hung around for a long time before one of us gave in to DD's nagging and finally sewed them on Blush.

MIL and FIL have an electric car and it's rather eerie seeing them take off with a silent engine.

Cag sorry to hear about DD's 'friend'. Obviously she's far better off without her but it's a slow and painful realization. Flowers to you and DD. Great news about the PIP money. Are you going to treat yourself to something nice or be sensible and save it for new house related stuff?

Laska I'd be raging about the sponsorship form too. I've only ever looked for sponsorship at work once and I just sent an e-mail around to say that I had a form if anyone wanted to sponsor me. I wouldn't dream of approaching anyone in person. A guy in work kept bringing in sponsorship forms and they weren't even his - his Mam kept picking them up and then giving the form to him to find sponsors! In the end one of my colleagues said, "Look, I'll sponsor you today but this is the last time".

Meadow glad your oral exam went well. Your posts always remind me how difficult life can be for people who suffer from anxiety (everyday things like a trip to the hairdresser). I think I probably take my ability to do these things for granted and don't appreciate them enough.

em well done on the cake sale. The horse is very cute. Good news about Catface. Not such good news about the car Shock.

life hope you're feeling better today

Lonely well done to your DD in the school concert. I was laughing at your description of your baby's scan and how the 'boy bits' turned out to be the umbilical cord Grin. Also your naughty spaniel doing a poo on the vet's floor.

mammy sounds like a lovely evening with your friends

Lovely dresses Laska and need

Having a quiet Saturday today. DH is out for the day and he's staying over with friends later. DD was supposed to be going on a day trip with Scouts today but she was a bit tired and grumpy last night so DH promised her she didn't have to go if it was raining (I wasn't there when they had this conversation). It was raining and windy this morning so we cancelled. I'm not sure I'm altogether happy with this as I don't want DD thinking it's ok to cancel something just because you're tired/grumpy/it's raining etc. And I'm also aware that the leaders have given up their day to take the kids out and entertain them. But like I say, I wasn't there when they had this conversation so I won't say anything until I speak to DH and get the full story from him.

Anyway, DD and I are going to have a quiet day and cuddle up on the sofa later and watch 'La La Land'.

CremeEggThief · 13/05/2017 12:49

That's great news, Cag. Pleased for you.

NSD.

WreckTangled · 13/05/2017 12:50

£9 tesco (£3 was birthday present for this afternoons party)
£13.50 haircut for dd. She also got glitter, plaits and clips Smile

WreckTangled · 13/05/2017 13:24

I'm wearing my superga's today. I forgot how comfy they have. They do a pair in yellow. I need them

CremeEggThief · 13/05/2017 13:38

The only pair of Supergrass I had left me with a heal blister, after just a 15 minutes walk on first wear, that was so bad it took over a month to healSad. They were gorgeous too, but they had to go (on eBay). However, I find Converse extremely comfortable, but I know a lot of people don't.

CremeEggThief · 13/05/2017 13:38

Supergas!Smile

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 13:41

Tayto not sure yet - DH has gone to work so we can't discuss it till tonight. I have said we are putting a large bulk of the backpayment to the CC. Even if we do move it to a 0% deal it still makes sense to pay a chunk off right?

TBH though I think we will have a bit of a treat anyway. We hadn't booked any holiday this year as a family, and I'm even more desperate for one after this week, so we are thinking of having a couple of days somewhere cheap/local. Unless I can somehow find a cheap Eurostar ticket :o

Not got much food in the house and I'm having spaghetti hoops on toast. Now that's comfort food!

Cagliostro · 13/05/2017 14:01

I think it's a good opportunity to plan what baby stuff we will need to buy though and start pricing it up. Main expense will be a pram Shock

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/05/2017 14:23

Tayto tbh I think it's probably fine to cancel if she doesn't want to go, as long as any payments have been made. These events are much more fun if only the people who enjoy them show up.

WreckTangled · 13/05/2017 15:23

I'm at a children's party. The party food is all ready prepared by m&s. They even had a selection for the adults. Yum!

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/05/2017 15:39

Think we might be going to IKEA tomorrow, with DC a little bonkers . Looking for storage solutions for DD2s room and maybe dining room. We won't be able to bring back anything big though so will at least not buy on impulse

What is it that people rave about in their cafe if we end up eating there? I believe the food is good value and I'm lazy Blush

£1 milk and £3 kids activity books today but DP paid
