Ouch Cag. Dd was 8lb at 36 weeks and Ds 7lb13 at 35+4.

Dh and I are thinking of going to Auckland for a couple of nights. Mil will be gutted if we head up there two days before the end of the holiday but we're a bit bored here and rain is forecast for the next few days. It will mean putting it on the credit card too so not sure what to do.

SnugglySnerd · 11/04/2017 07:06

I'd do it, Wreck, when are you likely to get the chance again?

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2017 07:15

So would I, it's not like you're down there all the time is it?.

God Need your poor pony.

ememem84 · 11/04/2017 07:16

meadow I'm in jersey. The threading place was in the beauty section of local dept store. They do an offer for £90 for 8 visits. Which does save money. I told the lady I'd think about it. Hmm

There is a cheaper place here. £7 a go. But the lady who runs it is apparently a bit flaky. You can book an appointment but she may not open the shop that day. But doesn't tell you until you get there and see the closed sign.

Brows look good though. Smile

ememem84 · 11/04/2017 07:19

wreck I'd do it. Just you and dh? Or with the kids? If with the kids take them to Kelly tarltons. And make sure you park and ride on the shark bus. Dh wanted to go last time and I insisted on the shark bus. 😀

This is my fave holiday pic of dh. (And my fave pic of our holiday - leafface ems)

Sending leg healing vibes to dpony.

Do it wreck.

National trust day today

allthebestplease · 11/04/2017 08:49

em great photos.
We are getting excited about the house move I can't believe its now going to happen, it was a whirlwind weekend. It's a chalet bungalow, old person lived in it so very 1970s, we want to make it modern but will just take our time doing it up as it will be a forever home. Literally a 4 min walk from where we live now. Just waiting to hear back on the best mortgage deal.

Spent £20 in Waitrose and £25 in lidl but fingers crossed that will last the week.

We have paid £8,000 off of credit cards now have £3,000 left to go but hopefully that will be clear before we move house. (dh has been working overtime to pay off debt but the overtime will stop soon).

Coppersulphate · 11/04/2017 10:04

Def do it Wreck. You won't regret it.
Need, poor pony. I do hope it will be ok and the vet can sort it.
Em, hope you sell your flat soon. Tell us more about the shark bus.
On train to collect DGD. Peace will disappear for a week, but she is good fun.

Cagliostro · 11/04/2017 11:56

Definitely do it Wreck like others said when are you going to get the opportunity again?

Love the photos Em :o

Seacow music therapy would be epic. One of my pupils is profoundly autistic and the way music helps him is incredible. I'm not doing anything special, it's just the magic that is music-making!

Need big hugs/apples to DPony, poor thing :(

Yeah girlie was natural birth, as they had no idea how big he was (I said on the day I was a bit worried, dr felt my tummy and said no he's about 9lb Hmm but literally the first thing the MW said when he was born was "ok never mind the babygro, you're gonna need a school uniform" 😂 TBH though I since found out that bigger babies are easier to birth because they're helped along by gravity 😳 Plus it was second labour anyway.

Made it to Tesco this morning, wasn't up to doing a delivery order last night. Spent £42 including Easter egg, DH has everything for his food for the week and I've got a few bits to take to mum's, but the Caglets and I will mostly be fed there :o going tomorrow until Saturday. So won't need a delivery this week. Had a sit down in costa after, £8

Feel a bit better for the sunshine, think we will take our lunch up to the patch of grass by the flats in a minute to make the most of it :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/04/2017 12:25

Wowzers Cag I am seriously impressed your poor fanjo tho I think dd was about 12 weeks old before she hit 11lbs Grin that comment by the midwife made me laugh!!

I have had a very spendy morning £50 new tyre, previous one wasn't salvageable (will come out of car savings pot) on the plus side my kind neighbour put it on for me which saved having to pay someone to come out to do it.

£40 new phone house phone as the old one died ystd, also not salvageable unfortunately was about 8 years old and all the internal bits fell out when I took the battery cover off!!

£72 in Morrisons, about £55 of that was food and the rest was other bits like sun cream, wine, plants.....

Am going to spend another £50 on replacing the spare tyre later as well

Just as well I got that random money back from the solicitors as would have cleared the accounts otherwise Shock this month has been awful money wise.

Dd is off at an own a pony for the day day, she looked very smart in some new for us jodhpurs that were kindly given to us by a lovely mumsnetter.

I have a good friend coming down tonight and the plan is to tackle the garden tomos, she is an expert gardener so am really glad of her help. The borders will be going in!!

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/04/2017 12:34

I just had a man round to look at our damp wall. He says the damp proof course is a layer or slate that's breaking down and it needs injected with stuff to make it sound again, which would be done by taking off the skirting boards and injecting from inside the house. He's going to quote to do that and also to replaster. It's sounds like a very clear-the-room-and-redecorate-afterwards kind of job.

We also went to see yet another dentist today. This time a local but very upmarket private dentist. He was very good indeed with ds and had an even simpler plan for how to make the tooth sound again. I think we'll be seeing a lot of this bloke in the coming weeks as he gradually figures out what ds is willing to put up with.

All in all, I suspect it's not going to be a cheap month.

Girlie Boots and superdrug have the la Roche posay on offer. £6 worth of extra points in boots too on the app but it expires today.

£11 sainsbos jeggings. Really impressed with them, premium range.

£4 powder
£4 squash and deodorant
£21 lrp.

Got a sparks card each for us.

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/04/2017 12:47

DC are with my parents and we have spent the morning painting. Hoping to get the second coat of colour on tonight.

But there is sooo much woodwork to paint Angry . Moving into the spare room has made me notice the woodwork we never got around to painting in their either Sad

Having a fry up for lunch. Decided to do that instead of going out for a DC free lunch together Halo so saved some £s

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2017 13:14

£28 work stuff.

I hate painting woodwork too Sad

Loveabaconsandwich · 11/04/2017 13:31

Although I do love the first coat of woodwork paint that transforms it from yellowed white dirty woodwork to nice freshly painted wood. But I lose the will when it needs a second or third coat.

Hoping for a NSD.

Next exciting job- trip to the tip before collecting DC. It's all fun here!

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2017 13:37

Cag, your Easter egg might qualify for the topcashback offer, £2 for eggs over £4 each. Just had mine pay out from Saturday.

Sunny Sounds expensive Sad

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/04/2017 15:48

Fluffy Yes I think it will be. Not sure about the damp proof course, but we already spent £600 on the dentistry and this new fellow charges £65 for each 15 minutes. This morning he succeeded in counting ds's teeth. How on earth do people afford private schools with all this extra stuff going on?

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 11/04/2017 16:51

Wow those prices! Shock :(

Thanks Fluffy is that one of those things where you photograph the receipt?

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2017 16:58

No there's an offer on the boots app, £4 back if you spend £20 plus £1.50 for over £5 on skincare.

The superdrug is 3 for 2.

Cagliostro · 11/04/2017 17:03

I meant the easter egg thing! I got it from Tesco :)

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/04/2017 17:14

I'm on WiFi in the very expensive national trust pub. £10 on tea shop today and £50 so far on dinner. It's a nice pub though full of NT families.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/04/2017 17:18

Sorry I got confused.

Yes, it's under instore, then click groceries. It's easier on the app.

ememem84 · 11/04/2017 17:30

This is the shark bus

Hosp apt today. Heard baby's heartbeat for the first time. Amazing!! had a little cry all good though!!

em this is totally allowed. I defy anyone not to tear up a bit when you hear it. There's a real new little human in there! Magical.

Spendy, asda £40 lunch for my tribe and bits and bobs. Jammies for dd3, who seems to be shooting up atm. Then £16.99 for storage boxes in argos, for shop, will get this back. Oh, and £78 to wool warehouse ffs I would post a pic of my stash, but the Internet isn't big enough.

seacow my garden is ongoing, but this year while the rain has stopped there is a lot to do. Hard landscaping. I dream of getting to the point where I can potter about pulling up a stray weed, while my kids play angelically.

ememem84 · 11/04/2017 19:08

cag still can't believe baby was that big!!

need poor pony. Hopefully it'll be a speedy recovery!

On a more frugal note I took leftover lemon pasta for lunch. Win. But then met dh after my appointment and he bought me a sandwich. Fail.

But pasta will still be ok tomorrow. Win.

Nsd for me. LSD for dh as he paid for sandwiches.

dinner was spicy fish tacos. (Baby wraps, an entire box of fish fingers, salad, cooked onions and peppers and sriracha mayonaise. And some lime) mmmmmm

Dh is going to the shop tonight. I'm staying home to finish tidying the house before estate agent comes round tomorrow to take pictures.

Must buy fresh flowers tomorrow.
