I'm middle of the road h too lonely. Smart enough for work, hair done but not loads of make up or nails.
I'm could be smarter but i don't care as no dress code at work either. I've grown into being stylish as i didn't really have a role model when young.

Football today, last match of the season. Also EH and friends for dinner. Roast gammon tonight

Loveabaconsandwich · 02/04/2017 08:30

I do need to make a bit more of an effort, I have lots of make up (including a lovely urban decay palette) but not enough time to put it on in the morning. Some nice high heels too but impractical with my power walking to the train station and dealing with the jobs in the office. I may reinvent myself once I get a new job or become a SAHM

Hope polka is having a good time with her sisters. I think that was this weekend

Loveabaconsandwich · 02/04/2017 08:49

Has anyone tried using an ecoegg laundry egg? Someone mentioned it on another thread. I was thinking it might be good for washing towels and lightly soiled things. Maybe not dirty socks! Could save some £s after the initial purchase

ememem84 · 02/04/2017 08:54

In theory should be nsd today. We're going for Sunday lunch. We have money gifted to us for Christmas for a family Sunday lunch and dm has very kindly said she'll pay any difference.

We're going to one of my fave places. It overlooks a little harbour here and feels like you're on holiday (think cute Cornish fishing village or french harbour town) I'm having a fishy pie. And maybe a very small icy cold glass of Muscadet.

Still in bed at present. Dh brought me s healthy (?!) breakfast of pop tarts. And tea.

ememem84 · 02/04/2017 08:59

bacon I was looking into them the other day. A super eco organic friend of mine was raving about them. I'm not totally convinced it'd work. So haven't bought yet to try.

I think my concern would be that things wouldn't smell clean iyswim. I like the smell of my washing powder. Dm always used bold lavender growing up. That's what i buy because it smells familiar (marketers dream I am...!) dh bought the coop own brand ages ago because it was cheaper. Nothing wrong with it or any other washing powder. Other than it smells wrong. I flipped out (was years ago so was probably on my period or something) and we now compromise. Bold lavender for bedding and towels. Other stuff for other stuff.

LonelyOversharer · 02/04/2017 09:01

Sounds like my kinda healthy em

Have a good run today need think the weather might be with you too.

How far did your dh go cag ? Hope you get some flat out eyes closed time today to slow the world down a bit.

Got nowt done last night, so choc crispy cakes made and in fridge, carrot cake in the oven and sorting cream cheese icing now so I can use the mixer for pizza base. Have got all the toppings to prep while the cake cooks, need to leave in 2.5 hours. Dp gone out for cycle.

Cagliostro · 02/04/2017 09:14

Oooh pop tarts Envy

DH still has 3 hours left! Haven't heard from him since before the 8 hour mark when he had done 50 miles. Hopefully he's paced it right and hopefully no injuries this time! I know he felt a bit star struck as there were champion ultra runners there :o so he's given up hopes of a medal.

Should probably get dressed

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2017 09:21

I tried those Eco egg things but it wasn't great.

You can make laundry gloop, all the recipes use borax but you can't buy it here & it works fine without.

I use the food processor to grate the soap.

Probably should get up too.

ememem84 · 02/04/2017 09:22

lonely can I come live with you? Inner your house smells amazing with all the baking!! I'd happily test recipes. 🙂😀

Dh made himself a fried egg sandwich. My midwife said to avoid runny yolks on eggs. I made him eat his delicious smelling breakfast in the other room. Because otherwise I may have pounced on it.

I know all eggs are salmonella checked etc. But midwife said some things aren't worth the risk. whether she's right or wrong that's debateable but I can probably last until October without a poached dippy or fried egg.

We're packing for another epic and pricey trip to the distant dentist. Wishing we'd had a week to recover from the last time, and hoping the job gets finished this time.

If we get it done and dusted then we can enjoy the holiday after that.

Aw, injured again! He's gutted, still walking rather than stopping but so disappointed for him - he was in 4th place when he pulled a muscle :( he's doing well to continue though. Most of the others are walking too now

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/04/2017 10:42

Oh no cag that's bad. Good on him for keeping walking though.

I should be making scones but CBA so frozen jam Roly poly for pud and ready made custard. Lazy

CremeEggThief · 02/04/2017 12:16

Sorry to hear he's injured, Cag, but he's still as much of a star in my eyes.Star

Having a lazy Sunday morning here. Got up at 11.30, stripped my bed and had croissants and coffee for breakfast. After I finish my coffee, I need to wash up, put the washing on, have a shower, make my bed and put clean, dry laundry away, make Sunday dinner, wash up, put more washinge on and more dry laundry away. Should be an NSD though.

Cagliostro · 02/04/2017 14:47

Thanks, same for me! Super proud of him regardless. He's just sad he didn't quite get to 100 miles which he would easily have done otherwise. But he has instructed me not to let him do it again 😂

He's sleeping now, DSS took me and DD to her dance exam which seems to have gone ok (quickstep) and DSDs are coming back later for a takeaway. Will find a voucher online as Pizza Hut are good for the 50% off type

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/04/2017 15:22

We have had a nice morning, went on a bike ride into town and then went swimming before cycling back, have def done our exercise quota for the day!! Beautiful day though and was lovely cycling along the canal, was the first time we have attempted to cycle into town and was pleased as only took 25 mins. Will def be doing that a lot more this summer.

Swimming was £7
40p sweets for dd

Have done two lots of washing so can get it out on the line and dry.

Might go and potter in the garden for a bit...

mammymammyIRL · 02/04/2017 15:44

Cag I just read your blog post, it's brilliant well done ✅
€56 spent on alcohol last night, was a great night & €4 on lottery tickets.
My sister did superbly on her cycle yesterday
My df paid for Sunday lunch out
I'm going to go for a walk in a forest park on my way home today & check out their campsite while I'm there

Today will be a nsd

Cagliostro · 02/04/2017 16:00

Aw thanks mammy 😳💐 really sweet of you.

Well done to your sister!

Wonder how need is getting on?

ememem84 · 02/04/2017 16:15

So full. Lovely Sunday lunch.

If I didn't look pregnant before I certainly do now. Food baby has overtaken real baby. Oooooooof

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/04/2017 16:17

£5 wickes.

Cag next year I bet he goes to register & you'll be all "err hang on a minute". Super achievement. I couldn't get to the end of the road!.

SunnyLikeThursday · 02/04/2017 16:45

I went along to an event as a community photographer yesterday. Sort of like being a professional photographer, but unpaid, and it was really good. I got to meet lots of people who were running all sort of interesting things, and ds had a great time trying out various children's activities. It was a real buzz and we enjoyed it.

I'd like to say that it was free, but the camera cost and arm and a leg three years ago, and I had to spend another £11 on a replacement skylight filter after dropping my camera yesterday, so not quite an NSD. Nuts to it though. We had fun.

I haven't read back in detail, but oh your poor DH Cag, I hope he's okay. It's a bugger when things like that happen.

Angry at your dad Fluffy.

I'm back! 25 miles of hill, mud and bloody good fun. The weather was kind but the going underfoot was tough as we were high up. Once stretch of 4 miles of peat bogs which was a bit energy sapping and I might have fallen in one.... Grin But a different atmosphere to road racing, lots of check points with refreshment stops and chances to take some pictures. And a massive bowl of stew, rice pudding and coffee at the end, all for the princely sum of £7.

But bloody hell, some climbing and rocky terrain too. Took us 5 hours, but that's including the stops. Was about 4.5 without.

Legs took it fine, I'll be stiff tomorrow but no more than that. All the kit I used work well and my fueling was good too, all good practice for the three peaks challenge in May. Might lose a toe nail but think that's it.

I absolutely did love it though and could handle an ultra for sure. I always did prefer the endurance stuff. I have the speed in my legs, but my heart is in the distance.

I'll post the elevation for Lonely and the state of my legs.

I do enjoy a good challenge and this was bloody good fun today. Grin

I just made rabbit-shaped Easter cards to send to family and I had to take the fluffy tails off the ones for relatives in Ireland, because it costs £7+ to send large letter to Ireland. I had no idea before I did those cards.
