Ah wreck that's awful.
Knitting I'll be over tomorrow for my slices
I can't nap either snuggly.

Cagliostro · 18/03/2017 21:12

Barclays CC is looking the most likely. Although there's a few different types with various lengths of 0% and different fees.

Stupid question possibly but can we go and apply in branch for this? Or does it have to be done online?

OP posts:
IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 18/03/2017 21:50

cag it's almost too east to apply online. Really quick and easy. Last time I went through mse website and got the pre-approved one (mbna, good length 0%).

shit been busy and just realised the time! Still got 4dc running around upstairs. Right. Off I go with my riot act and BIG voice...

Cagliostro · 18/03/2017 22:18

I couldn't see how to find out if we had any preapproved ones? I'm sure we've had letters from Barclaycard saying we are, but I never read them before as we didn't want another credit card. [facepalm] I was mostly worrying about filling in the form wrong, as the eligibility checker on MSE went on about other household income and stuff which is hard to quantify now we're both teaching different amounts each week and CTC/HB changing every five minutes.

DH's packaged account fees email DONE. Not sure we remembered enough details so it could be totally pointless but it's done now and that's something. We have achieved SOMETHING today. Hurrah!

I do feel better than earlier though, thanks to chilling out catching up on Broadchurch (OMG) and SWFL (WTF!!!) and then having a nice bath using my fancy l'Occitane stuff I was given at Christmas. Almond oil cleansing thing. Lovely, but I now smell a bit like a Battenberg. :)

Woo hoo Dh isn't working today. Should be a nsd.

Wildernesstips · 19/03/2017 07:24

Spent £38 in Homesense on new pillows, protectors and some cards.

Worked out that DS1 should get a slightly larger maintenance loan next year which is a big relief as he is on the minimum this year.

Polka that's great on your eBay sales - roughly equivalent to two pairs of Clarks kids shoes!

ememem84 · 19/03/2017 07:27

Dh was awake at 430 stupid jet lag but I've just been presented with tea. 😀

SnugglySnerd · 19/03/2017 07:35

Not a good night. DH kindly got up with the twins without disturbing me. When I eventually woke up I told him he should have got me up to help. He took this to mean I thought he couldn't manage and snapped my head off (he doesn't cope well with tiredness). Then we both slept through the alarm for their next feed and didn't wake up until 5.15. By the time we'd fed them DD1 was up.
I've got up with her and left him in bed in the hope of a better mood today!

Remembered DD needs some cake or sweets to share at nursery for her birthday so will need to get that today. Shouldn't cost too much though.

WreckTangled · 19/03/2017 07:46

Oh no snuggly. The tiredness always caused arguments here too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/03/2017 08:04

Don't the babies wake anyway if their hungry?

wreck Your poor DD, I thought we were past this kind of shitty behaviour these days.

Welcome Divergant.

Polka Excellent ebaying there.

£20 yesterday on a Chinese but Dh will give me his half today.

PolkadotPony · 19/03/2017 08:05

Oh wilderness I didn't think of it like that. Yay to me 😊

Tiredness always made my exH snappy too, and men quite often take comments like that entirely the wrong way. When he gets up just tell him he did a great job/you appreciated it/thank you and move on.

I'm hoping to return to college tomorrow so need to withdraw cash for the girls childcare this week (just £15) and £4.50 for my bus on Tuesday, but these are counted as essentials. Taking packed lunch to college for the first time tomorrow.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/03/2017 08:41

Well done on the eBay polka
Ah snuggly when he gets up I'm sure it will be fine. It's early days and you are both tired.
Sleep deprivation used to be a form of torture remember.

Soft play today. Morrison for the forgotten bits

Ipsomatic · 19/03/2017 08:50

Snuggly I remember that with ds too. People wanted to help by not disturbing me if I was asleep when ds woke, but it just meant that I finally got up to a situation that was out of control. It's a tricky balance and hard to do perfect diplomacy when everyone's tired.

I'm still thinking hard about cars. Must stop really. Time for a day off.

SnugglySnerd · 19/03/2017 09:38

Just lost a post due to stupid phone, I think it's on it's last legs, it keeps doing random things! Must check when contract runs out and see if I'm due an upgrade.
Thanks for sympathy about sleep (or lack of). I'm sure it will improve over the coming weeks...

ChristmasSeacow · 19/03/2017 09:55

Hello all

Snuggly is your DH still on paternity leave? When does he go back? I found it quite hard doing the nights on my own once DH was back at work (he still helped occasionally but I tried not to need him!). That's with just one though. And we were both knackered for the first few months anyway, along with occasional snaps at each other. Don't think it can be wholly avoided, it is very wearing being permanently shattered!

Good eBay result Polka. I have a house full of 'stuff' and still never seem to make any money out of any of it!

Wreck it is so disappointing that kids still behave like this. Can the school do anything?

Was DH's birthday yesterday. He had a good day, in spite of the missing present. A Victoria sponge always makes his day. My sister babysat last night so we could go to the cinema. Saw 'moonlight', was pretty good but not quite what I expected (well acted but quite slow). We went to Jamie's Italian first and it was a bit rubbish - 40 mins for our drinks to arrive and the food was unremarkable at best. £60, plus almost £30 for cinema tickets and £9.50 for parking Shock. London is not cheap. On the plus side my lovely sister doesn't expect to be paid for babysitting and even turned up with a little gift for DS, her own dinner (I offered takeaway / fridge plundering but she is on slimming world so said she would sort herself out) and a bundle of gorgeous clothes for the baby from John Lewis! My sisters are lovely Smile. The other one is babysitting on Tuesday while we go to a pub quiz with friends. If it wasn't for my sisters we'd never go out!

Today is domestic stuff. More housework / decluttering / favourite posh meal for DH. Should be an NSD unless I decide I need something for the guinea fowl sauce (would quite like tarragon).

WreckTangled · 19/03/2017 10:18

I'm trying to get some names but I will speak to her teacher.

mammymammyIRL · 19/03/2017 10:53

Totally feel your pain snuggly
Ipsos my mother used to do that with dd she couldn't be hungry again then I would have to deal with dd who was so hungry she couldn't latch on & repeat Smile with ds I was left to deal with a baby who was awake 20+ hours per day for 2.5 years & has left me shattered physically & mentally Grin

Need enjoy run today
I'm just going for a short one with my buddies from bootcamp, one doesn't run so we might go back to basics today

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/03/2017 10:55

Sounds like a nice evening out Seacow sometimes its just being 'out' thats nice rather than what you do iyswim?! Might be worth a moan to Jamie Oliver online somewhere about the long wait though.

Oh Snuggly you are both doing so well, i wouldn't know where to start with two babies Shock never mind adding a toddler into the mix as well!! Are you bfing?

Wreck girls can be so mean, dd has had her fair share of run ins and nastiness over the years Sad def speak to the teacher.

Well done Polka on the ebaying, thats brilliant Star

Plan today is to do not much this morning, I have had a nice long and much needed lie in, and we are off to see Beauty and the Beast this afternoon. My mum is insisting on paying, again Hmm but i think I will insist on paying for the McDonalds afterwards Grin

Dd seems all better so thats good.

Cagliostro · 19/03/2017 10:58

Good luck wreck hope they are helpful! Thanks Sounds like a class chat is needed perhaps.

I made a frugal decision today. Friends are coming over for board games and thanks to doing the food inventory I knew exactly what we had in. Not enough of any one thing. But I do have lots of marinaded chicken in the freezer so DH has nipped to the coop for noodles and stir fry veg which will only cost a few quid. Compared to normal when I would've suggested a takeaway or going out for food. Marinade BTW is honey, garlic, ginger, lime juice and soy sauce - le yum. Other than that just a few snacky bits for while we play, none of us are bothered about drinks so no expense there.

I was pleased in the SWFL I watched last night that they liked having a night in. It's always been my preferred entertainment!

WreckTangled · 19/03/2017 11:22

girlie it's the boys! There's only 9 in her year and 23 in the class but she says she wasn't sure who it was. The girls were running with her and the boys said 'why are you running with slow coach?' Which obviously upset her. It's quite simple though, if she starts not wanting to do pe/gets embarrassed I will remove her from it. My life was much better when my dad excused me from pe. I find it really hard though as I don't want her to hate her life because of it and wish she was someone different like I spent my teenage years I want her to use it to spur herself on to achieve great things.

Lunch is either soup or pasta sauce. Should start labelling things that I freeze Grin

Ipsomatic · 19/03/2017 11:42

Mammy Gosh I'm the same. My ds didn't sleep either. That's why I'm a bit under the weather all the time. I'm getting there though. How long is it since you started sleeping again?

mammymammyIRL · 19/03/2017 12:10

This time last year ipsos but I've been back working full time since he was 6 months

MeadowHay · 19/03/2017 12:19

Wreck I started hating PE when I was in year 6 after comments from boys in my class and it got even worse when I moved to (all girls) secondary school. I never spoke to my parents about it though as I was embarrassed and anxious. I used to get so anxious about it that sometimes I would end up vomiting on days when I had PE at school and stay home instead. My mum noticed the pattern but just used to laugh about it and make out like I was lazy Hmm. People were horrible to me because I've always been terrible at PE due to poor coordination from my Asperger's. It really has affected my attitude to sport into adulthood Sad. Although when I was about 15 my city council was doing free gym memberships for under 18s so I started going to the gym sometimes which finally gave me a way to keep fit that I enjoyed (as it was something I did on my own so didn't need to worry about other peoples' comments).

Today in theory could be NSD but I may do some online shopping later...I need a bunch of things that I never get around to buying when I'm in town as always so knackered after volunteering that I just want to go straight home.

DH working overtime today, he gets time and a half on Sundays so been doing a lot of them recently. Next week is his last though as we're going away later in April and then he's agreed not to do any overtime during May & June to be at home more to help support me through my exam period which will no doubt be extremely stressful for me.

Seacow Sounds like you still had a nice time though. We wanted to see Moonlight but never got around to it. We saw Hidden Figures last week which was amazing I can't reccomend it enough.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/03/2017 12:42

34 fricking quid for soft play and snacks.
