Well done need and em

Needastrongone · 20/03/2017 16:04

Brill news Em.

Not so brill about the lino Wrecked.

Thanks for the congratulations on the race. I am really chuffed tbh. You are right knitting, I'm no where near back to full speed, I don't expect to be for another 18 months or so.

Mammy RPE is Rate of Perceived Exertion. How hard you feel you are working. My pace was 20 seconds per miles faster than 3 weeks ago, but it felt like I was working at the right effort. I think after all this time I know what works for my own training, I eat really bloody well (very clean, unrefined, 8-10 F&V a day) and I am as light as I have ever been, which is all helping.

Good luck for the race, how's the training been going?

Em. Well done. Not everyone gets promoted when pg. That bigger salary has come just at the right time.

Need Congratulations. You've worked really hard to achieve that so quickly.

Destiny Great idea.

NSD. Took list of plants to trade nursery with SAE, they said they'd give me a quote which probably means I'll never hear from them again.

mammymammyIRL · 20/03/2017 16:54

Ah need I get that, that's my guage as well but I didn't know what it was called! I'm always surprised when I see my splits at end of a run and see how they've improved because I go as hard as I can comfortably without having to stop and walk. I ran 6.3k without walking a step yesterday.

My training at the moment is bootcamp 5 days per week for 30 mins, (although this week I get to do the full hour 3 days as I'm on holidays I'm more excited about that than being off work) and one run at the weekends, my time is improving each week so it must be working. This week's run will be the 10k race on Sat, the week after I'm thinking a short run 5/6k as the following week I'm doing a 10 mile road race, I've two months then to build up to a very hilly half marathon. I'm going to plot various distance along the route by car to practice each weekend. I'm going to try running mornings during the week before work after bootcamp finishes too

Oh wreck no wonder he was sorry, that's a lot of damage. Someone will have to fix it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/03/2017 16:55

That's pretty bad wreck. I think you are going to have to say something as you will see it all the time now.

Nsd but tempted to pop to a shop for some bits for the end of the week when dh is away. Supposed to be baking for comic relief and need a lemon and mixed seeds. Might make something else

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/03/2017 16:57

I'm off to the gym in a moment as just getting my mojo back. I think I'm going to get one of those pelvic toners from my ziffit money as things are not as they should be still. Fgs.

mammymammyIRL · 20/03/2017 17:02

Wow em that's fantastic news, I missed that post somehow!

WreckTangled · 20/03/2017 17:24

Unfortunately it can't be fixed it will need replacing. I'm getting dh's boss to do a fitting invoice because Dh swapped a days overtime with his boss for him to come and help him fit it.

Brightermornings · 20/03/2017 17:27

Wow mammy all that exercise is hardcore.
I've had a really low few days. Not sure if it's all the Mother's Day adverts. My mum died when I was 13 so a long time ago but it's still hard at times.
I'm supposed to be doing HIIT and kettle tonight but I've spent a lot of the day on the loo (sorry tmi). I think I'm going to have an early night I haven't slept great the last couple of nights.

WreckTangled · 20/03/2017 17:31

Our council tax as gone up by £12 a year

Needastrongone · 20/03/2017 17:31

Hope your'e okay life.

Mammy. Sounds like a good training plan. I do Boot Camp on Tuesdays with DD and have a PT session once a week. This is all for strength and core work, as I neglected both terribly previously. My only tip, and it's a very strange one, is - don't be afraid to run slow, very slow. My race pace yesterday was 7.15mm. A lot of my steady runs are at 10mm. You get the miles in your legs and stay fresh, and you are training the right energy systems in the process. Imho I think most folk run far too fast, and are always slightly fatigued. Paula used to run 8mm, her MP was 5mm. The guys at the club don't really understand why I run with the 'slower' groups. None of the guys are the club bar one or two can comfortably run 50 miles a week and none of the guys at the club race pace are that much different to their race pace. I've done no speed work at all yet.

Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs. Smile

mammymammyIRL · 20/03/2017 17:32

brighter this is a major lifestyle change for me because I'm all about concentrating on the food for weight loss not exercise. Well that hasn't been working so I'm going to focus on exercise in conjunction with my healthy eating and see how that goes.

It's a 4 week bootcamp so not forever, hoping though it'll be on again though

MeadowHay · 20/03/2017 17:34

Bright Hope you are feeling better soon (both physically and emotionally) Flowers.

Well done to the runners!! You are awesome, I absolutely don't have the commitment to achieve like that Shock. Although I am a bit worried about my heart health atm as I'm in a shocking state fitness wise so do need to start improving, it's just difficult as I am chronically tired because of my MH problems.

Spend a few quid in library café on sandwiches and a cup of tea for my lunch as we had run out of bread Blush. Being organised is hard! DH went up the road while I was at uni though to buy some bread & milk and post some things but he paid for all that so I'm not counting it personally Wink. He is back in work tomorrow for another four days of 12hr shifts.

Tomorrow I am on the interview panel for my replacement at work Shock. I am anxious but looking forward to it as it's a new experience and I imagine it will be interesting.

MeadowHay · 20/03/2017 17:34

Oh and woops Em congrats on promotion!!

Needastrongone · 20/03/2017 17:35

*their training pace, sorry.

Ipsomatic · 20/03/2017 17:53

Fluffy Have you tied this website? www.dutchbulbs.co.uk
It's a plant wholesale that also sells to the public. I really like them for spring bulbs and dahlias in particular as they are cheap as chips. Good for ferns too.

The "R" on my main keyboard has broken which gives comical results. Looks like this:

I an't esist the uge to type lette ""s all the time. They ae just copping up eveywhee.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 20/03/2017 17:55

Well done em

PolkadotPony · 20/03/2017 17:58

Went back to college today, absolutely exhausted. Just spent £15 on electric today.

ememem84 · 20/03/2017 18:14

Thanks guys!!! It was really unexpected. But am really happy. Now the hard work starts.😀

need well done on the race

destiny I'd never thought to do that re foundation....great idea. It may be a bit cheeky. But you need to know which one suits you best right?

Lasagne salad and garlic bread for dinner tonight. Yummo.

And the biggest news..... we have hot water again!!! Yay!!!!!!

CremeEggThief · 20/03/2017 18:54

Congrats, Em. Well done.Wine
I agree with the others, Wreck. You're going to have to complain about your lino.

Hope you feel better after your early night, Brighter. I can imagine it's a tough time of the year for you. Brew

Spends: £15 postage (2 small parcels for my sister's birthday and a Mother's Day gift for Mum) and a card to the Republic of Ireland.Shock I don't think I'll ever get used to the expense of postage; it seems to have risen every time I post something! £25.77 on a pub meal for me and DS. I had battered halloumi and chips and he had gammon and chips and we both had San Pellegrino lemonade and a brownie and ice-cream for pudding. So, very reasonably priced.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/03/2017 19:13

I'm ok need just a bit vexed that i can't do what i want anymore. I have a weak pelvic floor and a mild prolapse. The NHS while having a great woman's physio here can only tell me to do kegels cos lots of woman would love theirs to be as mild as mine. Don't get me wrong I'm a public sector worker i understand funding cuts.
Anyway it took a turn for the worst last year and has never been fully right again. I don't help my self by forgetting to do the squeezes. I have heard heard many good things about the pulse toners so thought i might get one.
I also need to sort out my core, unfortunately a lot of core exercises are not pelvic floor friendly.
As you can tell I'm not embarrassed in talking about it but many are so person trainers tend to get embarrassed

Cagliostro · 20/03/2017 19:22

Wow em congratulations! 🌟🎉

Brighter big hugs sorry it's such a hard time of year 💐

On way back from friend's house where we did a learning group thing. We stayed on after and she made us dinner which was le yum. Got the bus instead of train which is actually more expensive (out of county so our bus passes don't cover it all) but I am not well enough for the extra walking involved in the train journey. And we are on a double decker bus home (rare round here) so the Caglets are happy 😂

Ordered £50 Tesco delivery for tomorrow, some of that is loo roll etc though. I looked at our inventory throughout though and I reckon I did pretty well focusing on what we need to make the existing stuff into meals. The rest was fruit and lunch stuff. I have no idea if it means next week will end up even more expensive as we have to restock but hoping this was a valuable exercise anyway. I'm terrible for just sticking anything in the trolley without really thinking (even online!)

Ipsomatic · 20/03/2017 19:31

Life I'd be interested to know how you get on with your pelvic floor muscle training. Mine is a shambles too. My last GP said I should get something called a gyne exam done to see if all is as it should be, but I phoned my new gp surgery and the receptionist said she had never heard of one of those and that I wasn't allowed to see a female gp as I'm registered with a bloke. Not sure that can be right really.

WreckTangled · 20/03/2017 19:46

Ds can swim! The extra lessons are finally paying off. When I say he can swim I mean he can move in the water unaided without drowning Grin I'm so proud!

Ipsos I would have thought it's just a vaginal examination?! Any GP can do it but our male gp's would much rather you booked in with a female.
