Second free trial boot camp class done this morning. I feel elated at what my body is capable of. I've done adventure races & have none booked currently but I know when I do I'll be more capable.

If bootcamp doesn't continue in my locality after one month I would consider following this trainer to another location.

Well done Em. I remember the enormity of the Down's question. It felt like ds's first exam, and took up such a lot of brain cycles at the time. There are lovely things to come too though, like seeing the dc move on the scans. Nobody ever tells us about the fun and love, so just so you know - there is good stuff to come too. Smile

My ear is still numb. Smile

WreckTangled · 08/03/2017 12:11

Em well done for having he whooping cough vac. Yy to downs screening it gives you a risk factor and then you can decide if you want the more invasive one if there's a high risk baby does have it.

£7 somethings macdonalds. Mmmm
£6 something charity shop
£9.10 in poundland
£29 accessorize on a swimming costume which I need.

I've decided I want to move to petersfield. Will be impossible as different country and we can't afford to buy/private rent. Meh.

Behind on the thread but just had to say YIPPPEEEEEE Snuggly congratulations on the arrival of your babies! One of each, wowee :) :) ecstatic for you all. Star Thanks

Ipsomatic · 08/03/2017 13:58

I just read a decluttering article that says it's good to give non-clutter gifts, like meals out. It seems like a good idea for an adult, but do you think it works for kids? They seem to like stuff a lot. Our attic is getting really very full of kid stuff and it doesn't sell very well on ebay.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 08/03/2017 14:00

Oh god. I have shopped. There is enough food there to last us 10 days I hope, plus bits for dd3's birthday on friday. So so spendy, see photo for my list!

It breaks down to: £149.24 food and cleaning/toiletries, £35.36 of that was meat. For 6 of us, thats £2.50 per person, per day for 10 days (ignores cupboards full at home).
£52 on birthday, cake bits, cards, un-birthday presents don't ask
£20.74 on unplanned things. But but, bargain of the day, mini tart tins at tesco, reduced from £2 to 25p each. I might have bought 22 of them Blush
And £9.50 on chicken food. This will last 2 weeks, and at about 5 eggs a day, we're about breaking even!

Glad about the whooping cough vaccine em I'm pretty sure I had it early doors with ds, was very poorly and it was going round at the time. Ds' top front teeth came through without enamel (they were like chalk), and my dentist said an illness like that can affect odd things in a newly developing fetus, so more mum guilt for me. Yy to downs test too, forewarned is forearmed.

Why Petersfield wreck ?

Oh my Goodness Snuggly thats is amazing news, congratulations Grin Grin Grin Hope you are o.kay and babies are doing well, now the fun starts!!

Have had a slightly hectic morning as had two friends over with their toddlers who are lovely but quite full on, I think you forgot what little ones are like quite quickly!! Was planning a trip to Lidls this afternoon but might just have a nap instead Wink

Spent £3.50 on biscuits and snacks.

When dd was in PICU there was a young baby in the bed next to hers with whooping cough Sad def the right thing to do Em likewise with the test for DS. My sils sister has recently had a baby with DS and she felt the same as you, she wanted to be prepared. He is adorable and doing really well, so far I haven't noticed any differences to any other baby (not sure what I expected tbh!)

WreckTangled · 08/03/2017 14:52

Knitting it has everything it's a market town with rail links to London. Ten minutes from Portsmouth, swimming pool, lovely little bakery, big shops too like joules and accessorize, fat face. A little market with fruit veg and fresh bread. Yet at the same time it is surrounded by countryside. Good charity shops too Grin and macdonalds I just get fed up of having to go in the car for twenty minutes to get anywhere.

Oh and I have no enamel on my back teeth but the dentist attributed it to me having chicken pox when I was younger. Must be autoimmune.

We have a lovely little boy at our school with Down's. He's a terrific football coach and so extremely kind to my ds, always. I can't imagine the place without him. His Dad's brilliant too.

My tooth thawed out and feels okay (Phew!)

This has been a hell of a week with dm in hospital and my trying to do my first dentistry after 3 years of burnout or PND or whatever it is. I think a couple of days off may be in order.

allthebestplease · 08/03/2017 17:03

knitting great haul, was it all from Tesco? I do a mixture of Lidl, Nisa and my nemises because I literally pass it ever day doing the school run...Waitrose.
I accidentally spent £42 on the most amazing bra. I have no boobs and am fed up of putting tops on and my stomach sticks out further than my boobs (I'm a size 8 but have a stick out tummy). Anyway bra has loads of padding. Lady doing fitting was really nice and told me about her boob job, so in effect I've saved myself £4,500 Smile doubt Dh will notice though.
I got a free sample of foundation from Clinique which will keep me going.

Wreck I agree with the move the place sounds ideal. A little like the place I dream of moving too but cant afford it (Tenterden).

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 08/03/2017 17:10

all just a few bits from tesco, most was lidl and morrisons. I visited the lot, except aldi and sainsburys!

Look, 25p each!

SnugglySnerd · 08/03/2017 17:11

Thanks everyone! I'm a bit sore but otherwise ok and the babies are really cute. Will tell more when I'm back home, I don't have much data on my phone!

allthebestplease · 08/03/2017 17:12

knit I love those, such a bargain.

Frugalness: I did sautéed cabbage and leeks for dinner and I'm going to turn the leftovers into soup by adding some stock

Beeneatingburnttoast · 08/03/2017 17:32

NSD

Lunch my colleague made was huge as expected but yummy

Course was really good and hoping I can use the skills so that my next job application shows off my new found ability with pivot tables. Grin The trainer was really good and as I organised it my colleagues were really grateful to me. Which is always nice to be appreciated.

polka definitely sounds like you are now on the right track.

em sounds like you are making good decisions with vaccines and tests

My colleague kindly dropped me off at a different station so I only had to take one train home. But still a very damp wait though and a soggy walk back to my car

Beeneatingburnttoast · 08/03/2017 17:37

ipso I definitely prefer non clutter gifts. I know if sounds ungrateful but we have so much "stuff" now.

I suggested to DP that we ask PIL for some babysitting for Christmas rather than stuff. He wouldn't do it though Sad I also ask for vouchers for DD2 if possible so we only buy what we need. Would love cinema/food vouchers or days out for the summer would be so appreciated.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 08/03/2017 17:38

I thought I had the Marie kondo book on my kindle but only had a sample so was really gutted. will look on the threads until the book goes on offer

CremeEggThief · 08/03/2017 17:44

£9.70 travel to work, but no spends apart from that.

I definitely prefer non-clutter gifts. As I'm sure everyone knows by now that getting rid of stuff makes me happy.Smile

Cagliostro · 08/03/2017 17:47

Lesson with 2 more new pupils went well and they stayed to play with the Caglets after. That's 4 different pupils today (last one at 8pm). I'm extra grateful that I can earn money from my own home today - I had a really awful night painwise and it was no better when I woke up - no way in hell could I have gone to work in my old job today. (I am feeling marginally better this afternoon)

Needastrongone · 08/03/2017 17:48

Clearing up some spends while I have 2 minutes before going for a run

£107 - 2 competitions for DD (fucking expensive pony)
£160 D of E Gold final payment for DS
£21 running kit for club.

MeadowHay · 08/03/2017 17:55

Snuggly congratulations! I feel really weird as I was genuinely thinking yesterday "I'm sure Snuggly is having/has just had her baby because she's been awfully quiet!!" Shock Grin I'm so happy for you!! Hope you are all doing well, take care of yourself xx

NSD today although we will probably get Dominos pizza for tea but DH will be paying for that as he'll be getting it on his way home from work. So still counts as NSD for me...right? Grin

Just been in work this afternoon for a few hours. Keep getting these awful banging headaches which I'm sure are hormonal as I seem to keep getting them whenever I have a period, but it's weird because these aren't even real periods as I'm on oral contraceptives. Hmm

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/03/2017 18:29

knitting - bargain.

NSD yeah

ememem84 · 08/03/2017 18:36

Nsd today. Yay! The hospital said they'd deal with the parking ticket!
