trying no no nz for me. Dh is going on his own. We're hoping they refund for my flights and if not maybe they can use my money to bump dh up to premium economy/business.

mammymammyIRL · 31/01/2017 21:57

No NZ for this reason is the best reason ever Smile

Cagliostro · 31/01/2017 22:25

OMG EM!!! Yay, huge congratulations!

I wondered when you mentioned going to the GP about feeling funny. I had my fingers crossed for you.

I've never before been so very happy for someone I've never met! Massive grin on my face here. :o :o :o

Em, GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinSmileSmileSmile. Just the best news.

Enjoy it. Enjoy it. Enjoy it.

My only advice. There is no right way, do not tie yourself up in knots trying to make it so. YOUR way is the right way for you and that's what counts. You will be an awesome mum.

And I suspect you've had wine or gin at some point in the last 5 weeks. All the best DC are conceived of this way. Ask DS. SmileSmile

Needastrongone · 31/01/2017 22:28

Grin at *Fluffy's' knickers.

£5 Boot Camp. I am fit but that hurt like fuck.....no pain no gain...

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 31/01/2017 22:44

Aw, Em congratulations!!!! Brewand Flowers as no Gin allowed now.
That's so lovely.
Had a LSD, just birthday card for dad and a 99p coffee with colleague.
Working very long hours this week, evening stuff every day now until Saturday.
My class have designed an art exhibiton where they pick out paintings and research them, make labels and then invite the other teachers in to see the show. It's on Friday night Smile

Cagliostro · 31/01/2017 23:03

That's an awesome project MissA what age do you teach again?

Thanks for the new thread cag
Em that's fantastic news, so happy for you.

Low spend day today. Just £5 going to local indep cinema to see Manchester By The Sea with a couple of friends. It was the type of film that is a bit too arty & subtle for me I'm afraid (Philistine!) but glad I went & did enjoy chatting about it on the way home.

Have had some additional hours agreed at work due to us carrying vacancies at the moment so that will help our finances over the next 2 or 3 months.

ChristmasSeacow · 31/01/2017 23:43

Congrats Em. Hope you don't feel to rough through this first bit, it usually gets better in the second trimester. I flew long haul a couple of times in my first pregnancy (at 16 and 20 weeks) and it was fine but iirc you are not a fan of flying anyway and I can see why you'd rather be at home in case things go wrong (will most likely be fine though!)

Have you been losing weight Fluffy or has your elastic just gone?

LSD here, and I have shredded 2 black bags full of paper today - part of Operation Clearout to make room for new baby. Quite pleased with progress.

Welcome to the new people and nice to have you back Need

Did you get on hmrc website in the end Cag?

CathodeRayTube · 31/01/2017 23:50

Fluffy that's hilarious about the pants problem.

Wow! Em Congratulations! Nice work! Good news on the NZ trip too. Splendid.

Trying yes we're having rubbish luck healthwise. I'm hoping now I've found a good GP we might be able to do something about that. Fingers crossed anyway.

This bug's a howler. Still can't eat since Sunday. Hopefully soon.

ChristmasSeacow · 31/01/2017 23:54

This made me smirk today (for Cag and anyone else 'enjoying' the self-assessment season) .

It is true I am much better at parallelograms.

I've not managed to get the tax return done. However I wasn't expecting to as I mentioned the other day (it was a surprise that the code arrived in the post THAT fast) so the fact I've got plenty of it done is a bonus and I'm still feeling pretty chilled.

It's doing strange things like saying my marriage details don't match the info they have. Eh?! They know we're married, because of tax credits. It will be SO much easier next time when I have already been through it once. There are loads of things I don't understand (and TBH the little help buttons don't explain all that well in places) but I couldn't see it until I'd activated so only saw them for the first time now, you can't read the form before you sign in. I have a new friend who's offered to help anyway, and I'll phone up about the other details. I'll write the appeal letter too. But chilled is the way to go. I have had enough stress lately to let yet another thing get to me.

Oh, re: the guarantor thing. I spoke to the rental agent and he assured me that their company requires a guarantor for each of the four tenants in the houseshare and each is only responsible for their child's portion of the rent. Income required is their portion of the rent x30 so in DSD's case £12000. He was a bit Hmm when I mentioned debt and asked if DSD knows anyone else who can do it but there isn't anyone... although apparently they only do an employment check rather than a credit check anyway. Isn't interested in assets (and no need to be a homeowner, he wasn't even fussed about part of our income being benefits...) which is bloody weird as I thought the idea was so they could take you to court and guarantee (!!!) that you can pay them. Confused All very very strange. Hmm

On a lighter note, today was great - expensive mistake of not prepping food, £23ish. But otherwise really lovely, as we had the first session of another learning group and it went pretty well, and we played lots of games after.

I've ordered the shopping for tomorrow, £90, a few batch cooking bits as well as easy stuff, just hope I can find the energy to somehow DO it, as I'm knackered and achy this week. Also lots of yummy bits to make nice fresh salads etc. And a (hopefully) Mumsnet chicken to see us through the next few days, which DH is sticking in the oven as soon as it arrives.

Seacow :o :o :o that's brilliant. Not least because parallelograms are awesome.

ChristmasSeacow · 01/02/2017 00:07

Glad you are not stressing Cag. I tend not to stress about things I can't control - so if you've done what you can then pah, what else can you do?

Guilt makes me feel very stressed (i.e. When I know I am ignoring a problem and not tackling it) but if I am tackling to the best of my ability then that's got to be good enough. Stay chilled!

I'd be long asleep by now but DS has just been woken by a bad dream so my mind is fizzing!

Cagliostro · 01/02/2017 00:22

:) It's taken me a while to learn that but I'm getting there. :)

Sorry about DS's nightmare. Autism and sleep. Bah. DD only just dropped off. We finished reading Heidi tonight - she's loved it but the last chapter mentions the word death a lot, which is enough to set her off, poor kid

mammymammyIRL · 01/02/2017 00:29

AngryAngryAngry 30 mins in bed & I'm going to go bunk in with dd, dh is snoring & can't go to spare room cos dm is visiting, she also snores Grin

mammymammyIRL · 01/02/2017 05:34

He turned over just as i was getting to to leave, 5 hours sleep is not enough Sad

WreckTangled · 01/02/2017 06:44

Yes em!!!!! So bloody excited for you!! Biggest congratulations Flowers I wouldn't have been able to do long haul when pregnant, it's bad enough when you're not!

fluffy that's funny! I got some pants in primark but I don't like them as much as my sainsburys ones.

Ds has doctors this morning. Not got much else planned. I need to get more flea stuff for the cat £££ and I forgot cheese and spinach.

ememem84 · 01/02/2017 06:45

Thanks guys. I'm feeling super sick but so far haven't been sick. Dr told me that feeling sick is good. Means healthy hormones.Grin

Catface hasn't left me alone. She got a bit pouncy last night when I was in bed.

christmas you're correct I hate flying I get really nervous and flappy. So it's better I don't put myself through it. Dh totally agrees. If it was a shorter flight it'd most likely be fine. But 26 hours in the air with stinky smelly people all cramped up while feeling sick....? No thanks.

ememem84 · 01/02/2017 06:56

Things to do today:

Try not to throw up
Take boss for coffee this morning and tell him - I don't have to tell him until after 12 weeks according to staff handbook but if I'm feeling crap I'm likely to get irritable. So it's only fair.
Get folic acid - gp prescribed it.
Holland and Barret for healthy snacks - and crystallised ginger eugh.

Bank account overhaul. Before October we want to move house. So. Need to save for everything.

Also need to have a chat with my riding instructor. To let her know. I think I want to carry on. But she may not want me too. Gp is happy for me to carry on as it's something I'm used to doing and I don't do anything too risky (no hunting cross country or huge jumps). But If instructor isn't on board obviously I won't. Saying that even if she is I may give it a go and not want to continue.

WreckTangled · 01/02/2017 07:01

Em have you had the flu jab? It's full flu season right now.

SnugglySnerd · 01/02/2017 07:10

Em MSE email has a20% off code for Holland and Barrett website!
I used those travel sickness wrist bands in the first few weeks, they helped with nausea. Funny about Catface, my moggie won't leave me alone either. Remember you shouldn't be changing cat litter now.

NSD planned, but we'll see what happens!

ChristmasSeacow · 01/02/2017 07:24

I spent much of the night over in the baby names board... it's fun over there Em, one man's meat is definitely another man's poison! (Not as much fun as actually sleeping but I am sleeping v badly these days due to pregnancy-related carpal tunnel syndrome - and a bit of DH snoring too. I heartily sympathise Mammy )

DS is in nursery today so I will be going back to bed this morning. I feel as though I do waste too much of my precious child-free time napping but I am always trying to catch up from crap nights Hmm . Somehow I doubt the utility room will get painted before this baby arrives!

I think I only need strawberries today, which is about as close to an NSD as I can get!

Fluffy do you have any result yet on your DH's health concerns?

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/02/2017 07:25

Some people will do anything to avoid their in laws. Grin I was never sick em but felt permenatly queasy. Rich tea biccies were a godsend and ginger tea.

CathodeRayTube · 01/02/2017 07:33

Em If you want a really enjoyable book to tell you what's going on with your dc then this one is super-great. I liked it best of all I read.

www.amazon.co.uk/Day-day-Pregnancy-Book-DK/dp/1409345181/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1485934276&sr=8-2&keywords=dk+baby+day+by+day&tag=mumsnetforum-21

Ever day of your pregnancy it has a picture of what the baby looks like and what new parts it is growing and all that kind of stuff. It really makes the time pass in an enjoyable way.

Take it easy there and enjoy all the dreams of the future.
