Welcome Star,
Just been out to look at the moon. Amazing.
Looking after DGS today and took him to a soft play place. Bought him lunch ( which he didn't eat) £ 13.50 . If I'd been at my house I would have taken a picnic but this place don't allow brought in food.
Still got to pay traffic fine.

Great bargain, Mammy.Star

ChristmasSeacow · 14/11/2016 23:01

Trying, can you see the moon then? It's been cloudy here today. I went out yesterday and took some photos (it wasn't quite full, just 97%, but clear skies)

Thanks creme delighted Smile

Cagliostro · 15/11/2016 01:26

Awesome moon photos! Too much cloud here Envy

Just spent £11.50 on one cinema ticket. I remember when they were £8. I am going to see an anime film by myself, I'm in shock that it's actually on in my town and I am no way going to miss it! DH is off thankfully so I can go child free.

Seriously need to get organised with easy food to take out and about with us as yet again I found myself nipping to the shop(s) today on our way to/from a group meet. Costing a lot.

Too much cloud here too.

Should be nsd.

Have had £400 refunded from electricity as in credit which is good as we didn't have enough money for the rent to come out Blush

Work today. Oh actually I will need to pay hospital parking later as I have a hospital appointment at 5:15. That's practically bedtime huh? Not sure what I'll do about dinner. Even if they're running on time I won't get home until 6:15 and ds usually goes to bed at 6:30. Might have to do them a packed tea to stop me going to macdonalds.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/11/2016 06:13

Bargain mammy well done.
The moon was lovely

Nsd planned today.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/11/2016 06:15

Havee a pic nic tea wreck.

Forgot I have a hospital appointment today. £2.50 parking

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/11/2016 07:04

Amazon prime is £59 until 18 Nov

ememem84 · 15/11/2016 07:08

life re Amazon prime is that for everyone? Or just new users. Wondering if I sign up again will it let me have the reduced rate...

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/11/2016 07:39

Think it's just new users. It's on the front page of Amazon at the top.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/11/2016 08:08

Could your Dh be a new user em?

ememem84 · 15/11/2016 08:17

fluffy I think I could be the new user as I think dh signed up for it. Will look into it later - thanks life for pointing it out.

Just spent £37.50 on parking tickets. Ah. Have to drive today as have somewhere to be after work. Parking tickets will last a week or so there's no time limit.

Stuck in traffic at present. Ah!

"They" announced yesterday that they're making another car park in town only 3 hours parking. Given that most people work in "town" and live out of town and the busses are rubbish it makes no sense.

I tried to get the bus the other day. There is a bus stop right outside our flat. The bus comes at 8. Then goes the opposite way and takes an hour and 10 to get to town. This is without traffic. I arrived at work 25 minutes late. The earlier bus is at 650am. When there's no traffic. So I'd be in work for 715. Aaaaah and they're taking away Parkin spaces!!! Aaaah rant over Smile

mammymammyIRL · 15/11/2016 08:44

wreck are dc with you at hospital appt? Could dh feed them and you eat after bedtime? Last night, I had my dinner at 9pm when dc were in bed and I could relax and enjoy it, this isn't always possible because I'm starving other days.

Too cloudy here to see the moon but seacow your photos are fabulous.

em I'm lucky never to hit traffic to or from work (working in the middle of nowhere has it's pluses! With Dublin traffic people go the earlier time and then go to the gym in the interim before it's time for work.

WreckTangled · 15/11/2016 10:14

mammy the dc will have to come with me as I'll need to leave before dh finishes work

CathodeRayTube · 15/11/2016 11:35

I've been and registered with my new GP now and explained to the previous one that we're off. I should have done it years ago really as we couldn't get to the other one. Hope the new person is nice.

Need I know that kind of month. :-) Sometimes the spendy months solve huge problems though and make life much easier afterwards. I hope it's been good that way.

We don't seem to have spent much money recently as most of our current issues are not ones that can be solved with money. Oddly the grocery bill is way down after our forays to M&S and Waitrose. Ds is very excited about choc ices.

mammymammyIRL · 15/11/2016 11:46

Tesco sandwich deal with pasta pots/salads wreck?

cathode that's great advice about spendier months that make life easier being worthwhile and really resonates with me at the moment. Dh put a deposit on a second hand ride on lawnmower yesterday. €300 gulp. His mother's one that we inherited when she died 11 years ago had given up the ghost and it was a case of buy another push one that made the job very difficult and take a long time or bite the bullet and invest. We checked our woodpellet silo and we've got a good supply which will see us through the winter and I'd money in a fund for the next delivery so we're borrowing from that. Either the car will sell and we'll reimburse the fund from that or we'll save a bigger amount for pellets to compensate

CathodeRayTube · 15/11/2016 12:02

Spoke too soon. The oven just packed up. What is it with white goods this month?

CathodeRayTube · 15/11/2016 12:04

Mammy that's exactly the kind of thing I find as well. I'm glad you see it too. When I first joined the frugaleers I spent a bomb on a completely new set of clothes for myself. The spreadsheet looked really bad at the end of the month, but I felt so much better. Smile

At the moment I'm throwing caution to the wind and turning on the heating to keep us properly warm, but I do think it's helping.

Needastrongone · 15/11/2016 12:33

Thanks Cath. Some spends yes, and some are frivolous, born out of DH having an exceptional year so far. But, my goal is to live within the monthly income, and not think about the dividends and I've blown that.

I'm so glad you've registered for the new GP. Funny isn't it that we never get round to things that we really ought to have done yonks ago? A new and positive start hopefully.

I'm with you too on heating. I'm not on the breadline therefore not being cold in my own house. I agree, I think we would get ill.

Interesting about the food. I'll have a think about that, as I'm getting more stuff from M&S too lately. I've just chucked some Aldi rolls as they were awful. I never chuck any M&S stuff.

Love the moon pictures.

I'll keep up from now on.

£5 on an exercise class that I am now dying from.
£?? M&S as I have some vouchers.

Needastrongone · 15/11/2016 12:33

Often the element with ovens btw.

WreckTangled · 15/11/2016 12:42

Luckily we have enough food to do a packed tea for them. They can have humous wraps Smile

Yes our element went once. Blew the fuse.

CathodeRayTube · 15/11/2016 13:03

need that's good to know that you agree about the heating. I think I have a mindset of feeling I need to scrimp everywhere, that is counterproductive for us.

We keep getting NHS emails that say we should stay warm to avoid viruses, so I've bought a load of warm clothes and am going to keep the house warm this winter. It's weird how big a difference adjusting our radiators made. Even downstairs is warm now.

I called the oven repair man and it's £80 callout and labour, so I hope the intermittent fault shows itself tomorrow. The element runs but the fan fails.

ememem84 · 15/11/2016 13:15

Spends today £0.60p beef hula hoops.

Nice left over chicken nugget lunch. Grin
