Mammy dh and I worked out a cleaning rota as I have been spending all of every day rushing around herding clutter and cleaning in never ending circles. My new scheme is this:

dh does dishwashers, folding clothes and hoovering stairs as needed when he has time, which he often does.

I do:

Monday: tidy lounge and hall, run roomba
Tuesday: tidy dining room, run roomba
Wednesday: Do bed covers, run roomba in bedroom
Thursday: Clean bathroom
Friday: Clean kitchen

I also do dishwashers, washing clothes and folding clothes as needed.

The weird thing is that now I have a rota, I'm finding that when I go to clean a room, it is basically still clean from last time and only takes minutes to do.

It's great, and is giving me much more rest time. I've no idea why we're not in chaos like before, but I like it.

collie sorry to hear it's so difficult. Good luck there.

collie

That would piss me off no end. Start the complaint now. While the angers there.

By the time you've moved you'll be even more exhausted than you are now & it's harder then.

Like when we won dhs court case with his mad ex & then had to start another one to recover the car while the cps pursued her for stealing off the mortgage company. It was hard to keep going for so long.

Which nail coating did you have need?

Needastrongone · 14/10/2016 12:38

Had it before Fluffy, but I like it and it's really hard wearing, which is good for me with the pony and dogs etc.

Eurgh weird hand photo, I have no idea why they look so fat and the photo is upside down!!!!

CremeEggThief · 14/10/2016 13:00

Lovely nails, Need.

Collie, I don't know what to say really, but no wonder you have a stomach ulcer with all this going on. I agree that you should set the complaint in motion as soon as you are up to it. The whole situation is infuriating.Angry

Snuggly, hope you feel better soon.

Wreck, I hope you enjoy the Hen night. Spend all the money. You deserve it!

Very neat job she's made of that.

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2016 13:50

Sounds good genie must come up with something ourselves, because cleaner is off for a few weeks in November. I seem to spend lots of evenings folding clothes but I don't mind that because can do it & watch tv at same time Smile Plus I want to enhance what she's doing weekly this month not just let it build up until she visits again

need your hands are not fat!

Two fingernails on my right hand got stained with tan on 30th Sept, I'm waiting patiently for them to grow out. My nails are finally strengthening thanks to using Sally Hansen miracle cure strengthener

NeversellahouseCollie · 14/10/2016 13:53

need my nails are a very similar colour! And I love it.

fluffy I was literally screaming down the phone earlier and the complaint procedure has begun. I think we may lose the house we were moving into.

It's weird. You start off thinking you're on a tight budget. Then you realise you may lose £3500. Then you convince yourself that losing £3500 isn't too bad. I'm stressed and negotiating my financial loss with myself Confused

Absolutely terrifying.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/10/2016 14:07

It's disgraceful actually, surveyors get paid lots to know their shit.

This is why house moving is so stressful, you're reliant on other people & other people can be bloody useless.

NeversellahouseCollie · 14/10/2016 14:19

Agreed. I was talking to our solicitor earlier and she was explaining how house buying works in other countries. Why is the UKs system so awful and antiquated? Why are surveyors possible of screwing up a basic mathematical sum? Why why whhhhhhy?

Have until next Thursday to decide what to do. As it stands - carrying on the way we are is too risky. It will probably work out fine but there's a tiny tiny chance it won't.

I can't chance risk with a DC. It's not fair on him at all :(

NeversellahouseCollie · 14/10/2016 14:20

Oh yeah and if it goes ( . )( . ) up (tits up) then it'll cost us a fortune. so the risk is real & painful. I have a headache

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2016 14:46

collie Will ye lose what ye have spent so far?

Needastrongone · 14/10/2016 16:17

Mammy I'll nip upstairs and find the nail stuff I use, which is incredible and costs a few quid and last forever.

Collie. When we bought this house, we got it from a small developer. The downstairs internal walls but none upstairs. We wanted to change the layout upstairs to suit us better. The builder was fine with this, but as we were changing the spec, they insisted we pay a £7k retainer, in case the chain fell through and they would have to revert to the original spec. The plot we bought was very popular (it's massive and the garden is so we knew if we lost our sale we would essentially lose 7k for nothing, as it would be snapped up quickly. It just added to the stress. I feel the pain. xx

mammymammyIRL · 14/10/2016 16:22

Ah thanks need

Needastrongone · 14/10/2016 16:23

I've been meaning to post that I made this for tea last night. Incredibly easy, cheap and filling. I cooked a gammon joint and will use the rest for sandwiches and a risotto. Otherwise, it's frozen peas, stock, a potato and an onion. Fed 4 of us and me for lunch today.

Needastrongone · 14/10/2016 16:25

It would be lovely with just chilli as a veggie option.

Needastrongone · 14/10/2016 16:28

Here's my walk with the dogs today. One more reason to be active and outside, difficult not to be uplifted by the Autumn colours. And at £14 for an annual pass, amazing value.

Wreck, I hope the DCs get well soon, but anyway, go out and enjoy your friends hen do. Spend the money.
Snugly, hope you feel better soon.
Collie, moving house is the worst thing ever but just keep thinking it will be worth it.
When we bought the last house ( the one I moved from earlier this year), the surveyor made a total balls up. I mean total! The owners had taken supporting walls out and he didn't notice. I had scaffolding up INSIDE the house within 10 days of moving in. We were unable to sue the surveyor then but it was about 28 years ago and I think the law has changed.
Glad you are complaining while it is all still fresh in your mind and raw.
Hope it works out soon. Is the problem with the house you are buying or the one you are selling ?
NSD ..been out all day at meeting and no real chance to spend anything.

NeversellahouseCollie · 14/10/2016 17:27

Wow thanks for your stories trying and need. :)
We have lost the house we were going to move into. Lots of anger around and I hope the anger will fade over the weekend. Our buyers still want to buy so we have to find somewhere else pretty quickly!

I feel surprisingly happy. After being so poorly and potentially losing loads of money - I have a new perspective on things.

Anyway, I didn't do the weekly shop on Wednesday so have to do a top up shop tonight and a big shop during the weekend.

Back to frugaleering!

AdoraBell · 14/10/2016 17:29

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/10/2016 17:29

Collie. Bless you. You poor thing. Tis utterly shite, that's what it is.

Sounds trite, but I promise that in a few months time, when you are in a lovely house, this will feel less crap than it does now. x
