Flowers life, I bet you do still miss your dog.

DH woke me up early leaving for work. He couldn't sleep, so got up at 5am. Loon.

Going to use some of the selling site cash for a pizza with the DC Saturday night, as DH goes away for 2 weeks on business.

Giving blood later.

Tea will be egg based, probably fritatta and spicy wedges.

Spends will be £5 for Boxercise this evening. Did 6 miles with the club last night.

Ursulatodd · 13/10/2016 06:57

£2.15 yesterday on a coffee out (actually hot and actually in a cafe!)

LSD planned today - just need a couple of bits from supermarket. Will probably go to tesco as its closest to where I'm going today. However one of my must-buys is marmite - will it be on stock?!!!

I need inspiration - I have chorizo and halloumi - I'm thinking some kind of tray bake with salad?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/10/2016 06:59

Have you nc Lush?

Grocery shopping today & shutting down my shepherds freindly account.

AGenie · 13/10/2016 07:18

Thanks Girlie I've made an appointment to see the GP. I've got so many things wrong at the moment that it's getting really hard to keep track. She's being much more helpful since the school got in touch directly about ds though. That seemed to put me on the list of people she actually tries to sort out.

I'm still scanning slides here and finding it really quite enjoyable.

Also I'm practising hard at meditation stuff and getting moderately relaxed. Creme you would be proud of me. Yesterday I spent a whole hour listening to my pilates DVD with my eyes shut, and not doing the exercises. I was under a nice warm duvet on a pile of cushions at the time. I'm getting quite good at the pacing since I started my housework rota.

Might have.... Smile.

Probs won't last, I am who I am on here!

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/10/2016 07:26

Thanks lush. I think you are nearly my size ish what's the sizing like on hush. I'm a 10 bottom usually and depending on the cut a 10 or 12 top (large norks) not sure what size to go for as i want to try the dress everyone raves about

Shesgotelectricboobs · 13/10/2016 07:33

genie I went to my acupuncture sesion on Tuesday evening and have decided not to make another one - as I've made great progress with my anxiety and other related issues (digestion sleep etc).

My lady did put me in touch with "the meditator" she runs meditation courses here. A full weekend to teach you the skills. It's expensive £200 but it's something I might look into.

I'm trying to get work to focus on mindfulness and meditation. They are very much believers in work hard relax hard. But don't seem to support the relax part (my boss thinks it's odd that I switch emails off my phone while on holidays/weekends). But saying that no one works past 5 we work hard when we're at work and the office is clear of people.

Still maybe a in house meditation session would be useful.

Collieballs · 13/10/2016 07:42

Nice name change hush Wink

NSD today. We ought to be finding out important stuff regarding the house today. So bloody anxious but excited about getting out of here. Grin

Wildernesstips · 13/10/2016 07:55

Boobs there is a really good free mindfulness course on Future Learn.

I bought the Lego VW Beetle set last night for DS2 £70 for Xmas. If you spend over £50, you get a free London bus set too on Lego shop, plus cash back.

SnugglySnerd · 13/10/2016 08:03

Morning all. I think I've worked out who Lush is!
Should be NSD today. Going to see midwife and taking DD for her flu spray. Going to do some drawing or sticking or something else I can do whilst sitting down in the warm and blowing my nose!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 13/10/2016 08:18

Stay warm snuggly lots of hot drinks.

wilderness thanks I'll look into that!

Have upped catfaces food allowance. Still giving her two breakfasts (each half the portion of biscuits). She showed no interest in the second breakfast. We've just left and are on the way to work so maybe she's chomping away.

She hopped up to the second step this morning and meowed. So she's def getting back to normal. Grin she was a noisy little thing last night. Sad

AGenie · 13/10/2016 08:40

electric that's really interesting that you're thinking about the same stuff as me. I have learned that when the physical symptoms of anxiety get too much I can control them by relaxation (actually ironing with whale music in the background - I never normally iron) . I've decided to take it a step further and try to get my baseline level of stress down a bit by doing lots and lots of resting. I've no idea whether it will work, but it's worth a try I reckon. My big hope is that my appetite might come back. It went all wrong when ds weaned. Fingers crossed.

Tryingtosaveup · 13/10/2016 09:04

Nice name change. Very subtle so we can connect who you are.
I would like to nc but have forgotten my password.
When I feel anxious I find I can reduce it by going for a long walk alone. I always have needed time alone to recharge anyway.
£5 out last night. Was a charity talk so the £5 was a donation.
Couldn't face the supermarket and don't even like marmite. I do put it in casseroles though as it's full of vit B
Might force myself to go to aldi later.

HushisLush · 13/10/2016 09:07

Snuggly, not great to be full of cold. Keep warm, never mind the heating bill. Drink lots. Don't worry about sticking the telly on either.

Interesting thoughts on relaxation and stress. I find being busy and active is my stress reliever. Having come back to running after an extremely long lay off I realise how much it gave me other than a fit body. It was good for my mind and soul. I find 'standard' methods of relaxation incredibly frustrating. I actually find sitting down for more than a few minutes annoying Smile

life, I am an 8 bottom and 6 top and go for XS. The sizing is generous. There's a thread in S&B about the dress and sizing is discussed there. The reviews are informative. Also customer service excellent too. I think there's free delivery and returns at present, so you could try a S and M maybe if you could manage that? They refund very quickly. Couple of days. Alternative is the ruched skirt and a sloppy joe jumper, very flattering.

HushisLush · 13/10/2016 09:10

Trying I gave a few hints in my post, there's nothing on here that I don't say in RL anyway. DH, who is bi-polar and makes me look lazy (!!) finds walking the dogs for hours one of the keys to staying 'well'. He thinks getting ddog1 saved him 4 years ago during our darkest days.

AGenie · 13/10/2016 09:11

Trying yes I'm the same. I've always found time alone is good. I didn't have any while ds was at home before school because he had sleep apnoea so I worked 24/7 for four years. I'm just gradually recovering from that. It's taking time, but I'm getting there. Being on this group is great because it gets me a natter, which I miss from the days of having an office job.

Has anybody seen the news about the price negotiations between Tesco and Unilever? I'm watching with interest as I gather that the result is likely to spill over to all other suppliers and retailers, and ultimately to our household budgets.

Lush I have no idea who you are. I'll keep trying to guess.

HushisLush · 13/10/2016 09:15

Genie, they are discussing on Radio 5 in a phone in now, if you would be interested in listening?

Oh, you need to know who I am!!!

SnugglySnerd · 13/10/2016 09:23

Ah, I was right then!!
TV is on and I'm toasting crumpets. DH is working from home so I might be able to negotiate a little lie down later!

Cagliostro · 13/10/2016 09:57

Subtle hint there Hush 😂

AGenie · 13/10/2016 10:27

Hush I guessed it! I guessed it! I know who you are. Phew!

Gosh, I never thought you would change your name. It's like the dawn of a whole new reality. Serves me right for not following fashion.

I just spent about 20 seconds cleaning the bathroom as per the rota, and then cleaned the bath by getting in it. Check out my pacing.

If the pound crashes right down, and stays there, do you think that will mean that things like the British ship building industry and the wool industry in this country will get a new lease of life?

I mean if we can't afford to buy stuff from abroad any more, then it might finally make sense for Scottish farmers to sell wool, and Mums to knit jumpers again. I might be able to grow vegetables and make a meaningful contribution to the household budget, rather than having to spend £1 on a packet of carrot seeds, when it only costs 8p to buy an imported carrot.

I'm torn between being pleased that local skills will finally be valuable again and worrying that if we can't manage to grow carrots or knit jumpers then we might just have to go without.

I'm also not quite so keen on not being able to afford bosch electric screwdrivers, but I suppose it's swings and roundabouts.

What do you all think about this stuff? I gather that the pound has now gone beyond the lowest value ever recorded now.

OP posts:
SnugglySnerd · 13/10/2016 11:15

I hope that you are right, Agenie although I knit so slowly that DD would be about 25 before I could finish a jumper! Grin

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 13/10/2016 11:15

I never managed to catch up on the last thread. So here I am again!!

Plenty been going on in my life. I can't keep up really.

Hope everyone else is well.

Collieballs · 13/10/2016 11:25

There's a baby event on at Boots. And if you spend over £40 online via the mobile site you can get £5 off with this vouchercode. MOBILE5

Found it on HotUKdeals :)

italian where are you? Are you busy doing hygge? Hope all is well xx

AGenie · 13/10/2016 11:42

Snuggly LOL! I'm a rubbish knitter, as it happens. I think I'd have to stick to growing veg. Maybe this is all just a subtle ploy by the government to make us realise why globalisation was a good thing really.

I just did a slightly bad thing and bulk bought some of our essentials in case Tesco take anything else off the shelves. Just the things we can't manage without because of food intolerance. Now envisaging run on tesco by frantic 1950s-style housewives.
