I have the fru flu. It's hit hard today. Perfect timing when it's a Friday and no preschool for wilf and Gabriel had his jabs yesterday. Feeling very sorry for myself.

We are having chick pea and squash raging for dinner. It's in the slow cooker now. I don't have any apricots though.

mammymammyIRL · 07/10/2016 14:04

Sounds yummy electric
I've saved us €115 on house insurance renewal unfortunately no cashback sites here to use for it Sad

WreckTangled · 07/10/2016 14:19

Collie hope the tablets work what does he think it is?

Nsd here although had to waste petrol as dd's school phones to say she needed her inhaler (which the dr said she didn't need as he doesn't think she has asthma) so that was a forty minute round trip.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/10/2016 14:20

Thats rubbish Collie and Mummy Sad Its no fun being ill when there are little ones to look after who don't really get it!! I seem to remember dd turning up the demanding behaviour when she was little if I was ill, hard work!! Back to back cbeebies helps Wink and don't feel bad about shoving beans on toast in front of them for a few days.

I have had a productive few hours Halo have so far rung; tax credits - needed to tell them about changes in childcare, car insurance people - re the woman who crashed into me on Wednesday and ee as they haven't applied the discount they said they would.

Have also put my meter readings in for gas and electric and they have dropped my DD down by £14 a month. Although I can see on my usage graft that in the last few weeks my electric has shot up, am wondering if that is less my usage and more that I am not getting the same benefits from the solar panels?

EE were apologetic and have also dropped my DD by £13 a month and have also said they will ensure the DD does out on the 1st of each month like I asked them to before

Car insurance people were helpful and I should be getting a phone call or two re the plan later today.

So all in all quite good and have saved myself £27 a month!!

Checked the account and have £84 in there to last until next week so thats not too bad, will wait till tax credits go in and may start ordering a few xmas pressies on Amazon.....

Mummyshortlegz · 07/10/2016 14:23

(Baby gone for a nap and I've plugged ds1 into his iPad with his headphones. Bad mom award coming my way...)

AGenie · 07/10/2016 15:27

Take care there mummyshortlegz and collie. My ds has had a lot of computer time the last few days while I've had the flu. We even made a good attempt at the whole first start wars trilogy. Definitely whatever gets you through. Flowers

I've still got this rotten flu, though it is getting better. My left arm has gone funny, which does happen these days when I get the flu. Odd thought. Electric how are you doing?

Collieballs · 07/10/2016 15:39

A stomach ulcer caused by my NSAIDs Sad the tablets didn't calm the pain down but a hot water bottle did. But now I feel sick again. I couldn't possibly vomit anything else!

Luckily DH is home now. He had to spend £5 on a new hot water bottle for me.

DS has been playing on the tablet until he ran the battery down Grin

WreckTangled · 07/10/2016 16:02

Oh no collie which NSAIDs are you on? I have some which are apparently gentle on the stomach. Do you take PPI tabs?

Collieballs · 07/10/2016 16:04

Naproxen. I wasn't on PPIs before but I am now. I would love a cuppa but I won't keep it down Brew

Cagliostro · 07/10/2016 16:07

Oh no sorry there are more unwell frugaleers :(

Naproxen is a total bastard for tummies. I had some to take occasionally but the GP was very strict indeed about when to take it with food etc.

OP posts:
Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/10/2016 16:11

Have you got any peppermint or fennel tea Collie? very good for dodgy tums.

I had gastritis a few years back and was told not to take NSAIDs now.

AGenie · 07/10/2016 16:33

collie are you able to eat anything?

WreckTangled · 07/10/2016 16:56

I've been prescribed arcoxia might be worth looking into when you're feeling better. You must feel awful FlowersFlowers

AGenie · 07/10/2016 17:09

Collie if you can get back to the place where you can only eat really bland stuff then it's doable to live like that for quite a long time. I've been on iron rations for two years while my body slowly sorts itself out. Hang in there. If you can't manage tap water, then Evian water is much much easier on the inards just until things improve.

Collieballs · 07/10/2016 17:21

girlie and wreck I'm definitely going to look at something gentler after this.

cag I've always taken it with my main meal. The doctor said some tummies are just really sensitive. Sad

I've had a cracker and some peppermint tea. My doctor promised that I would feel better tomorrow.

We worked out last night that we've been more poorly in the last year in this new house than we have in the last 10 years together! Shock

Shesgotelectricboobs · 07/10/2016 17:26

collie poor you sending Flowers and 🍵

genie feeling a bit better. No Coke and flu relief today. Just powered through.

Made myself feel better today with bright coral jeans and more dramatic make up that usual.

Because I've survived today day from hell I fancied a wine. Popped into our Tesco shop and found prosecco on offer. £3.99. So bought a bottle. So will have a glass once I'm home.

Tonight I'll be having fish and chippies then a glass of prosecco then heading to bed in the spare room (dh is a bit sniffly now too) so I can get a great undisturbed sleep.

Hopefully it'll bugger off soon.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 07/10/2016 17:27

collie chicken ginger noodle soup is good. We make it with chicken stock, slices of ginger noodles (obvs) and coriander.

AdoraBell · 07/10/2016 17:31

£3.99 in Boots on their version of high Vit C fizzy tablets. DH spent about £ in the bakers.

Collieballs · 07/10/2016 17:42

boobs chicken ginger noodle soup sounds amazing!! It's the first bit of food I have fancied for ages!

AGenie I think I'll be on a low fat diet for a while. Mostly bland.

Hope everyone else is feeling better too! Flowers

needastrongone · 07/10/2016 17:50

You outfit sounds good Em.

Flowers for Collie.

Glad you enjoyed London Cag.

This is the first time all day I have sat down since 7.30 and I am knackered but hey ho.

Out with the dogs at 8am, at the bank for 9am to sign up for a new savings account, actually opened 2. Popped in to DM's to take to the garden centre. Home, went for an hours run, grabbed the dogs and walked for another hour, collected my meat from the organic farm, bit of house work and then cleaned out the chickens and made tea.

I'll post a photo of tea, which I've just put in the oven, it's a new Jamie Oliver one and looks amazing.

mammymammyIRL · 07/10/2016 17:52

So sorry to hear of everyone still feeling unwell. I'm doing a 5k on runway this evening in aid of CF & planning a few drinks at home with some friends tomorrow night. Movies & popcorn for kiddos & something for us with booze after. Maybe lasagne Hmm

needastrongone · 07/10/2016 17:52
