£195 in sainsburys. Got some party stuff for DD next week, sale clothes for my growing weeds and a bit of food
Ds has chosen pizza for tea so another £30 there. Need to transfer some party fund money

Shesgotelectricboobs · 02/10/2016 15:26

Amazing day for a birthday. Sun is shining. Lovely Sunday lunch. Probably too much wine.

I love birthday day drinking.

ItalianWiking84 · 02/10/2016 15:35

Happy birthday boobs CakeFlowers if you want the flowers perhaps give them to a care home or hospital if any near you? They always love fresh flowers....
Still sick, soooo annoying...
Picked up the second hand Tripp trap today for 20£, needs s good washing but else it's fine and spend 15£ on petrol.

Thanks for the mac'n'cheese recipe, I've screenshotted it Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2016 15:51

£110 toys r us but the dc owe me £60 from birthday money. Got a Christmas pressie for ds that was reduced

Shesgotelectricboobs · 02/10/2016 16:19

I'm taking the flowers to put on my grandparents grave. Dh bought me flowers so did my sister and my mum.

So excess of flowers. Not enough vases first world problems

The hotel gave me a book for my birthday (their head chefs cookbook). So lovely!!!

SnugglySnerd · 02/10/2016 16:27

Happy birthday, Boobs!
It is a beautiful day so I am really annoyed that we have basically wasted it all. We got up late, planned to do a quick DIY job then plant bulbs/tidy garden. When we came to do the DIY the vital part was bent so we had to traipse to the shops to change it. By then I was exhausted and fell asleep on settee so DH took DD out for a walk. We are all bored and getting cross with each other, we haven't had a nice day or a productive one. DH is cooking goulash in the sc and the smell is turning my stomach. Sorry, I'm very grumpy today. At least we haven't spent any money!

Collieballs · 02/10/2016 16:33

We only half packed the shed. there is so much rubbish in there Hmm

My new clothes ban started off with a brand new hole in my jeans! Massive too. Angry

Cagliostro · 02/10/2016 17:06

Got a few pages to catch up on, but happy birthday boobs (adds to list of 'sentences I never thought I'd write')!

Awesome evening yesterday, just me and a couple of friends playing board games and chatting. Had a nice couple of days at mum's as well before that.

I've done a few surveys today - panelbase has got £4 pending already (on top of the £3 you get when you sign up) and I'm on £2.25 with valuedopinions. Have to say I'm not so impressed with the latter, it seems you have to do quite a few questions on a survey before getting told you aren't eligible Hmm. Still, I'll stick with both as it's free money. Hopefully when my Nectar card arrives I can do surveys via that as well, I keep seeing them mentioned on here?

I am totally craving a takeaway but I'm going to do lazy pasta for the Caglets (I just shove some frozen mixed veg in to boil with it) as I should still have a ready meal left for myself. Living the high life, me. :o

Thanks for the thoughts re: the cheque from my mum. I'd forgotten about it. I dunno. She mentioned helping out with a new sofa as ours is knackered TBH but also our house is a fecking tip at the moment and I don't really see the point in getting a new sofa yet until we've got more stuff sorted.

The rebellious part of me doesn't want to use birthday money for it! Possibly a throwback to when I was a teen and my parents said as a well done for my exam results I could get my room refloored, so I excitedly chose something (affordable) but without me realising they paid for it with my money.

But then I'm also worried I'll just bank the cheque and it'll get soaked up into the overdraft etc, because I feel weird spending it now when my birthday isn't until December, and then when we actually NEED a new (would be second hand) sofa we won't be able to afford it.

It's £200 BTW.

I would quite like to use it for a (very small) tattoo, or pay for my party, as I'm 30 this year and I finally have a lot of friends I want to share it with! But being sensible it should just go in the bank... I may split it. How long can I leave a cheque for without paying it in?!

£1.40 - packet of nuts in Cafe Nero. Visiting ILs today don't ask so DH has paid for petrol today instead of lasting until end of the week.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 02/10/2016 17:47

cag 6 months I think...

Parents gave me a cheque too. And am torn between spending it on nice things for myself or credit card. hate being a sensible grown up

If I were you I'd save half. Then use the other half for either a party or tattoo.

My three little birds cost me £60.

Depending on how big a party you wanted you could easily do it for £100. Area in a pub, some nibbles and maybe a glass of fizz for everyone? That's what we did eventually for my 30th.

I have been thoroughly spoiled today. Dh gave me clarins and a voucher. Uncle and aunt sent a voucher for next (yippee). Sis bought me some lovely things (scarf cook book and some stationary for work), and parents also got me a box of jo Malone stuff and a candle that's meant to smell like fresh Pinot Grigio (and is in half a wine bottle) but actually smells like gin. Grin

Feel as though I've put on a million stone today. Oooof.

Shesgotelectricboobs · 02/10/2016 17:55

Said to dh this morning that I need to book 2 days off work soon and blitz/deep clean/ declutter the flat.

He looked frightened. It needs doing though. Our spare room has turned into a shit tip. Wardrobe is getting out of control (nothing is in order...) and I just feel that we need to have a proper clean.

Better doing it myself as well.

I can sort clear and take things to charity shop/tip.

Maybe not this week maybe next...

AGenie · 02/10/2016 18:05

electric I need to declutter too. Thinking about asking for a skip and blindfold for Christmas.

Glad your birthday was good. CakeBrew

Shesgotelectricboobs · 02/10/2016 18:10

genie am now lying on bed. With a cup of green tea.

Got my comfy socks on and am contemplating a nap.

So yes, a successful birthday. Can't believe I'm 26 again 32

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/10/2016 18:17

Cag

Lie. I lie on VO to qualify. Plus I keep all their emails and hit the start survey button. It doesn't always work but in a day I can get an extra £1 or two on each account which is a result.

If anyone asks I'm a mother, we have sky and took two or more long haul flights a year Wink

CremeEggThief · 02/10/2016 18:31

Grin at Fluffy.

Cag, definitely spend the money on a tattoo and a party. 30 is a landmark, after all. Tell your mum that you only want a new sofa after you've got your house up to scratch. Beware of Panel base too. I got a lot of money (well, £25) from them quite quickly. Then they started phasing me out very near to the end of surveys; they were worse than VO for that.Angry

Sounds like you had a great day, Electric.

SnugglySnerd · 02/10/2016 19:28

I need to declutter too. It's hard to get anything done in the house with a 2yo though!

Collieballs · 02/10/2016 20:07

Decluttering with a toddler in the house is so hard snuggly. I don't feel like I'm getting very far Sad

Shesgotelectricboobs · 02/10/2016 20:09

Annnnnnd I had a nap.

So good!

lifelongfrugaleer · 02/10/2016 20:14

I agree re the cheque, save a bit, frivol a bit yes I know it's not a word
Pleased you had a good birthday boobs. We finished ds's at pizza express. £45. Lost my 50% voucher but got sent a 25% one so not too bad.
Keep on going collie, twill be worth it.
Sorry you had a rubbish day snuggly.

Also need a toy cull here but no time off left and sooo busy. Could do with a car boot sale or eBay. Will get there eventually or be forced when nothing more will go in the attic

Tryingtosaveup · 02/10/2016 20:28
