I took the liberty as we were nearly at the end of the last one.

Its chucking it down with rain here (and there was me thinking summer had started Hmm ) makes drying washing really tricky as obv can't hang outside and now the storage heaters are off drying inside takes forever.

Dd has football tonight so off out in a min, we have pretty much cleared out the fridge this week. Managed to rustle up some pasta and chicken for dinner with pesto, it was Lidls pesto and was waiting for dd to kick off about how it tastes different to usual but she actually cleaned her plate and commented on how nice it tasted Grin

Ememem84 · 10/05/2016 18:34

Dh has pulled a blinder for dinner tonight. I've been going on about how I'm wanting a burger from tgi's for ages.

He's made them. So tonight for my tea I'm having. Homemade BBQ bacon cheese burger (homemade burger and bun). Sweet potato fries. Salad and garlic mayo for dipping. This is why I married him.

I've been to the gym today too. So can have extra fries!

Decided I'm not taking care of myself. So must up the gym and healthy eating except not tonight and making sure I do moisturising etc. I feel happier when I've got a nice face and used nice moisturiser and have a bit of a fake tan.

CremeEggThief · 10/05/2016 18:54

A steal at £8, NeedSmile.

PurpleRibbons · 10/05/2016 19:31

That's lovely Em, meals in your house always sound amazing!

AdoraBell · 10/05/2016 19:50

em not much wrong with HM burger and sweet potatoe fríes.

Had To go into town today, spent £2.15 on a coffee. Eléctrician was round earlier, bill To follow but he didn't actually do anything. Thinks because we have low energía bulbs there is enough current in the neutral cables To make them flash when the live is switched off Confused

Unescorted · 10/05/2016 20:03

Look at Ch 4 - super savers. Puts us lot to shame!

Ursulatodd · 10/05/2016 20:08

I saw that advertised unescorted - will look forward to watching on catch-up.

Need I think you may be right. Cleaner has txt back twice apologising and offering to do extra next week. We'll see how it goes.

I'm going to sound like a right lazy cow now after cleaner saga...£20 getting the car valeted. I do do lots of cleaning and chores myself honestly!!

Ememem84 · 10/05/2016 20:25

unescorted watching it now. Omg. I'm all for vouchers and stuff but I think sometimes it's just too much!

CremeEggThief · 10/05/2016 20:31

Just tuning in now for the 2nd half.

CremeEggThief · 10/05/2016 20:58

Hmm, I'm not sure how much the families in Majorca actually enjoyed their holidays. All the penny pinching and cutting corners seems very stressful. I prefer being frugal in day to day life if it means we can have a few treats on holiday...

babsmam · 10/05/2016 21:08

Em yum.
Will watch it on plus 1 now

And dh came in and turned it off. Paul Hollywood baking instead

Yeah I'd much rather spend on a holiday. If I'm away and havvs the sole purpose of chilling out and enjoying myself I'm not going to scrimp and coupon on holiday. Maybe before.

Dh has just looked at flights for our trip to Italy. With BA over £900. With easyjet £500. Bargain. beginning to wish I didn't love Italy so much. It's effing pricey

PurpleRibbons · 10/05/2016 21:22

We've just been looking at camp sites and planning where to go in the summer. Might also be buying a new (to us), bigger tent from a friend. That's a frugal holiday!

I think too much scrimping can spoil nice things. If you can afford it then holidays are the time to budget a bit more spends.

Purple nowt wrong with camping. We are off at half term.

Ememem84 · 10/05/2016 21:42

purple I love the idea of camping. I think it could be quite romantic. Have been once. Our tent flooded. I cried. I was 6. Never again.

Ive had a tent at festivals but that's a bit different no?

I should add. Our holidays are more Spendy now there's just two of us.

We're getting the sightseeing out of our systems before babies come along. I don't fancy Schlepping around Florence with a small child. Not saying it couldn't be done and actually totally admire those who do.
Just don't fancy it myself. For me Holidays with small children should be about family time. Swimming pools. Sunbathing. Silly beach games. Ice creams. Running wild and free. No shoes.

Not museums full of breakables wine tasting and cookery school. That's for grown ups.

I mentioned camping to Dh. He is now looking to camp in Florence. He loves camping.

Thanks folks :o literally the quickest I have ever signed a form in my life. It's in the prepaid envelope so they'll send the cheque when they receive it. It did go on about it being used to pay any CC arrears first, but mine is at £0 anyway so we will actually see all that money. YAY! I'm surprised it was that much - the only time we really built up our CC debt was our wedding, and that was a small comparatively dirt-cheap affair.

Yep Fluffy now I've got that done I am sooo looking into account fees! :) I'll have a read tomorrow. After no doubt being on hold to tech support, as our printer isn't connecting, so I can't set up the instant ink yet. Grr.

Big thank you re: the posted coins Em! Thanks

I may have bought a laminator and guillotine today Blush cheap as chips from Wilkos. Oops. £18 for those two plus a pack of pouches. Ready to make resources for my maths class and piano pupils. Had another enquiry about that today!

beesarethebest · 11/05/2016 07:36

Hello! And welcome back to ohhelp!

Couple of nsds but paid for a symposium in London (will get that back) and because I'm attending it on behalf of new place, it'll be later than usual to get the money back but hey, at least I will.

Been busy with work (shouldn't I be slowing down?!) and lots of meetings with boss to hand things over. He's realising I do a lot. Not sure he will get round to doing them all. Not my problem.

Lots of meals being bought for me as well... It's nice when people find out I'm leaving , that they start wanting to meet up?!! Grin

Off to wake kids up now.

Whataboutwhathuh · 11/05/2016 08:00

Has anyone got the shepherds friendly quidco cash back yet? Mine says it's due to pay out tomorrow, seems fast!

WreckTangled · 11/05/2016 08:13

What I went through topcashback and it's still pending.

Should be a nsd. Going to have a blood test in a bit plus lots of housework.

ohhelpohnoitsa · 11/05/2016 08:44

Morning all. Feeling good after 12hours sleep! About to take the dcs to school and playgroup and spend the morning working on exam stuff (on my day off) to earn some extra money. Lovely. It is earmarked for a week in Dorset in summer. I will however, be going for a coffee before I start as I have a free voucher. Hope you all have a frugal but enjoyable day.
