Lovely weather does boost your mood, I can see how folk suffer fro SAD for sure. I hope you are ok Creme? Getting the balance and the right working environment to support you must be hard.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/05/2016 15:55

Its a gorgeous day here as well 24c! I have been good and gone for another swim Halo this exercise malarky is becoming a habit Wink that was £4.20.

Popped into Morrisons and left £11 lighter! Got some cleaning stuff I needed, some sun cream (I bought Morrisons own last year and was impressed so have bought again this year, factor 30 and high uva protection plus none greasy and costs £3.50!) and a few foodie bits.

Taking boy cat back to the vets in a min, his blood sugars are still high despite the insulin increases Sad they want to do more blood tests.

Need heard from the solicitor today, she said everything is going through fine and she is sending me some paper work to sign!!

northender · 05/05/2016 17:08

Sounds like it's going well so far girliefriend
Have spent more than anticipated this week mostly due to a very expensive visit to the dentist with ds. He needed a scan and then more work doing & an extraction (baby tooth with no adult tooth behind it).
£20 on lunch in town with dh today which was lovely, we got a table outside in the sun.
The weekend is jampacked, mostly with cricket. Ds plays all day tomorrow, is scoring on Sunday & dd has training tomorrow, is scoring on Saturday & playing on Sunday morning. Throw into the mix ds going to Wembley with dh on Saturday (something he won) and I'll be fit to drop by Monday, when SATs start for dd Grin. Wine anyone?

Ipsos · 05/05/2016 17:19

Frazzled Yes it smells great and is weirdly effective. I spray the basin and bath with vinegar from fine garden mister, then leave it for two hours. The I clean with a blob of johnson's baby shampoo and the basin comes up just super-shiny. Much better than with actual bathroom cleaning stuff oddly. Saves me getting bleach everywhere too.

Good to know Em. Sounds very hard work. Well done. :-)

I went and bought new clothes for myself again today (less than a year since I did this last - shock!) I bought one pair of black next bootcut jeans (£20), one pair of smart lace up shoes from Ecco sale (£45) and one small shoulder bag from Clarks (£18). I'm now a tidy frugaleer again. Slightly reeling at the thought of having spent money on my appearance.

Ursulatodd · 05/05/2016 17:24

Creme what a lovely view to lift your spirits! Is it supply teaching you do? Hope something comes up soon.

Accidental NSD. Scoffed my lunch at break-time Blush planned to go to the shops for some kind of lunch-time treat but had forgotten my purse! Ended up eating some bran flakes I found in the back of my cupboard. Tasty, but not quite Chocolate!

We're planning to buy a garden storage bench and bike shed over the next day or so. Just looking round at options. Plastic is so much more practical but wood looks much better!!

We're having JPs with the scraps of everything in the cupboards/fridge including a pear, avocado and gherkin salad I just invented!

WreckTangled · 05/05/2016 17:58

Nsd.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/05/2016 18:05

Thanks Bab

£6 homebargains.
Need work stuff later so budgeting £60.

Used mse link to apply for a credit card from M&S. I should get £30 in vouchers. £35 if I buy something from the food hall.

dont Do you claim the allowances for washing a uniform, buying tights and rcn fees?. You and Girlie get good rates as nurses.

AdoraBell · 05/05/2016 18:33

Thanks for the new thread babs Thanks

Over spent Blush about £23 on various bits, can't remember exactly what now.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 05/05/2016 18:58

Thanks for new thread

Nsd here had 2 meetings today at work and must remind myself to not rise to the bait when being challenged and engage brain before opening my mouth - never going to happen though.

Unescorted · 05/05/2016 19:21

isos the plastering was a success. I am waiting for it to go off. Poly filling and 2 layers of paint at the weekend. Bits still all over.

cag good effort. I would have been in ears at the injustice of it all. And even better to pick up the translation work and paid notice.

ursula for wood for your burner go to local joiners. They have to pay to get rid so are more than happy for you to take it away.

Comeonmommy · 05/05/2016 20:16

I am hoping if i comment on here via laptop i will then be able to find you on my phone?????? can't seem to search for a new post on the app or am i being daft????

WreckTangled · 05/05/2016 20:18

You go to topics>money>credit crunch and the thread is there Smile topics is in the bottom right hand corner

Comeonmommy · 05/05/2016 20:33

Ahhhhh, Thanks Wreck, I will know for next time!!!

Nsd today - spent most of my day on a course then just posted some clothes I have just sold on eBay - it all adds up doesn't it!

Dreaded shopping tomorrow - will be approx £75. Can't wait for Aldi to finish building their store - am hoping my shopping bill will go down a little then.

Am also thinking of clearing the accounts down to zero the day before payday - put whatever we have left into a savings account - rather than think I get to spend more the next month. If it's just left in the account it's fair game but if i know it's in a savings account - might feel bad taking it out to waste on impulse buys?? Oh and I'm not talking hundreds of pounds or anything but anything is better than nothing

PurpleRibbons · 05/05/2016 20:41

Thanks for the new thread.
I'm going away for the weekend, just spent £27 on treats/beer to take with me. Hope the nice weather lasts!
Will catch up when I'm back! Have a lovely weekend all

Unescorted · 05/05/2016 20:42

Have a good one😁

Ipsos · 05/05/2016 20:53

That's great unescorted. You're house will be like a show home at the end of all this. Smile. Is the plastering hilariously messy? Our floor was covered in what looked like wet mud when the first man put the sort of gritty plaster underneath. The proper surface plaster was a much tidier affair. Good luck with it all. Looking forward to hearing more. :-)

lilacclery · 05/05/2016 21:20

Think I should just give up on trying to catch up on the old thread & get to grips with this one instead!

Tesco delivery last night €73.15 & aldi tonight €59.42. Had hoped to keep aldi much lower than that but I made the mistake of going in hungry Grin lucky I had a list, all healthy too except for one pack of fun size bars for the dc.

Tesco included a pizza with my delivery & as you can see from my delivery that was not in keeping with my shop. Got to keep it anyhowGrin

Some of you know of my struggle to lose weight despite running slimming classes. Well ds is sleeping through past 6 weeks & I've lost 7lbs in that time SmileSmileSmile

It was a NSD right up until this evening.

£27 one year family and friends rail card.
£10 zip oyster card for DS so he can travel free in London. He's 5.
£74.90 on two open returns to London from where we live up north. Not bad if I say so myself.

My sister lives in London so we are going there for bank holiday end of may/may half term for 5/6 nights.

Excited doesn't cut it :), will deffo need some tips on how to keep costs down. We have merlin passes so will be doing attractions whilst there.

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2016 22:58

You can get 2 for 1 deals on lots of attractions with the family railcard, Don't. Have a look at the days out website. You have to print out any vouchers you choose though, as most places won't take electronic confirmation. What part of London does your sister live in? I know London well, as I lived there for 7 years and still visit once or twice a year, so I can probably give you some ideas, if you like.Smile

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2016 23:00

Have a fantastic weekend away, Purple😃.

Ipsos · 05/05/2016 23:07

That's fabulous news Lilac. Well done. :-) That's a nice easy solution compared to some of the things you've tried. I lost 2 stone when ds slept through, but that was because I was beyond knackered. I do hope that your weightloss is just because you are happy and well slept.

babsmam · 06/05/2016 07:04

Check you all out with your cleaning and walking while I boil and get stressed in my office. Also same today. Envy hey ho it's Friday.
LSD yesterday, can't remember the details.
Nsd planned today.
Weekend will be a mixed bag and depends on the weather. Need to either start painting the house or getting quotes

Creme
She lives in Walthamstow. We have three days to explore.

I wanted to visit legoland Windsor or Chessington world of adventures (merlin pass) however not sure best way to travel. Would also like to go on London Eye, madame tussauds. Basically everything I get with my pass lol.

We should go down to London more but it's having the time.

This is going to be like a holiday/break for me and DS. May look at saving for holiday abroad for next year with a friend.

Anyone have any tips on where to eat etc? Or anywhere that is worth going.. I'm worried I'll end up spending loads on the tube ha ha

lilacclery · 06/05/2016 07:12

ipsos thanks my weight loss is due to careful monitoring of food intake also & a little exercise but I've been doing that since I had dsAngry
Six weeks ago I'd 30lbs to my target & 34lbs to my own happy weight now I've 7 lessGrin

Also I've now finished work at my last place after all that hoo-ha if anyone remembers.

I'm doing bank work for now. I'm actually doing a shift in the community to the team I was suppose to be going to. I'm excited. I'm doing a six hour shift and they've gave me some nice visits and not too many. I'll offer to pick up any extra to ease work load off other people if I have time and to show my ability and what I'm made of. Here's hoping it all works out xxxx
