Welcome back blue and lilac.
Blue are you liking the reduced hours?

WreckTangled · 28/04/2016 06:45

Yesterday was a nsd. Today might be as in working then dd has swimming lessons but I need to pay the deposit for dd's party too at some point and that's £70. I won't tell you all how much it is actually costing.

I've got my appraisal today at work first one in almost three years. Boring.

lilacclery · 28/04/2016 06:51

I can't even claim to be lurking I was completely awolGrin have only read back the last page & I'm touched you guys missed me. This is the only thread I'm on on any board. I've just been crazy busy. I subscribed to ynab this week & shortly after found a three month trial. Will find the link for you guys Link
I haemorrhaged money last weekend but today is payday so back to basics.
Have €16 of stuff to return to Penneys but reality is I'll probably exchange because I need a top to go with a skirt I bought for gd communion at end of May

Karcheer · 28/04/2016 08:20

Morning,

Today I'm going to make muffins Grin

Only spend today will be £20 getting my nails done. It's our anniversary so treating myself.

I found a bottle of prosecco which I can give my friend for her birthday.
Dh out tonight so I'm going to have salmon (from the freezer) jacket potato, and either salad (if it still looks edible) or frozen veg for dinner tonight.

So hopefully won't spend more than £20 today.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 28/04/2016 10:01

Yesterday was a nsd, except for £20 paypal for... a spin dryer on ebay! Zanussi (all white goods zanussi, dp is weird like that) and I only have to trek to Darlington to get it (this afternoon if my mum can do school pick up for me), in the little car, should only cost £8ish in fuel.

Thanks fluffy for the push, have been fighting with the tumbler for a while. Its a decent condenser jobby but whenever I need anything (jeans mostly) is stops in the night because it's water tank is full. Plus we always had twin tubs when I was at sea, so this will be a bit nostalgic!

Freeze your blueberries! I use them from frozen for muffins, crumbles, smoothies etc. I overbuy for lunchbags (they like them one week but not the next), so tip them into a freezer bag before they go hairy.

Good to see everyone present and correct, except maybe cag? Hope she's not too poorly at the moment.

girlie beware the avocado plant!! Triffid. Very fun to grow. Mine reached 6' in the greenhouse before I gave up on it!

Ememem84 · 28/04/2016 13:26

Took skirt and trousers back £31 back on my card.

£24 on 12 cupcakes to be delivered to Dh at work while I'm away next week. No reason other than I'm away, he's having a hard time at work at present And am the best wife.

Potato salad with salad for lunch. We had our first freshly dug (not by us) jersey royals yesterday. Yum.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2016 13:53

Well done on the spin dryer knitting. You'll notice the difference, especially if you've got sensor drying on the dryer.

I estimate they half drying time going by the water left after drying at increasing spin speeds in the tumble dryer manuals. It's a damp country so drying out isn't always an option, if people have a dryer they might as well use them but pay less to run them.

£10 sainsbos but will get £6 off shopitize & clicksnap.
£36 lidl & got loads of loo roll and washing powder plus compost.
£10 Aldi because the cat gets cystitis if I give him lidl food.
£2 planting troughs for my living salad & liquid tomato feed in poundworld
£23 on a dog bed for the cat, 5% cashback.

Returned a bra in the post.

£140 Cheque from the water board arrived so will pay it in tomorrow because it needs to go into the joint account.

Ipsos · 28/04/2016 13:55

That's very interesting about the dental implants Girlie. I don't have anything like that but I'm going to keep an eye out for stuff like that in future.

CremeEggThief · 28/04/2016 14:34

Just switched home contents insurance through Topcashback. John Lewis is offering £45.45 cashbook, so I opted for that. My policy will be £7.45 a month, which is only 36 pence cheaper than I currently pay, but it includes laptop cover and it's a lower excess, so we'll worth it, IMO.

NSD so far. My Sainsburys delivery which should be £45.04 is coming later, but that won't come out until tomorrow. My meal plan:
Today- gnocchi, pesto, petit pois and Linda Mc Cartney sausage rolls.
Friday- veggie burgers, oven chips and salad.
Saturday- pizza.
Sunday - veggie roast dinner (Quorn roast, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, broccoli, Yorkshire puddings and gravy.)
Monday- quiche,chips and salad.
Tuesday- Lentil Bolognese with spaghetti.
Wednesday- same as Tuesday.

CremeEggThief · 28/04/2016 14:36

*Well, not we'll!

Welcome back, Lilac.Smile

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/04/2016 17:14

Hi all, am so tired very ready for my day off tomos!!

I'm not sure if its that Fluffy I just did a quick google to see if there is anything else out there about dental implants and cfs and found this article about Dick Van Dyke who suffered for 7 years before realising its was his implants! link

Dd just throwing a paddy as apparently everyone else owns a dog in the whole wide world apart from her Hmm

Spends today £44 on petrol.

Is payday, was a very sad pay packet though as no enhancements due to being off with dd. Will be an extra tight month.

northender · 28/04/2016 17:31

Didn't feel well today so didn't bake for the retirement lunch, bought cakes £5 instead. No other spends today so far.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2016 17:55

Flipping heck, you're just about to move & she wants to add a dog to the household?.

Personally I'd politely decline.

We don't have a dog so she is not alone.

lilacclery · 28/04/2016 18:07

Thanks creme
Girlie my dd 6 is quizzing me these days to know why she doesn't have a phone apparently one of her classmates does!

Today was payday but nothing to get excited about I budgeted it out as best as I could. Have class tonight & will aim to pay most of those earnings off my credit card. Personal spends will be €7 on my eyebrows tomo & a Diet Coke or two sun at a christening.

Determined to bring my debt down Ynab shows you your net worth - mine is minus €4K, I'm determined to get that to 0 before purchasing a different car. I don't have my temporary savings on budget as they're just for upcoming big bills so not savings as such. Actually just thought I also don't have my credit union savings balance there either that improves things by about €1.5k

babsmam · 28/04/2016 18:07

Waves at knitting and is now even more curious about how far away she lives. Oh and totally outs self for the nth time
Em Grin loving the cupcake idea
More bleeding food today £15 Morrison's

WreckTangled · 28/04/2016 19:22

beesarethebest · 28/04/2016 19:29

Tomorrow will be spendy. Off to London! Work and meals.

needastrongone · 28/04/2016 19:35

You can have one of my dogs girlie, two mad spaniels, take your pick Smile

Hope you are ok North.

Such a busy day here, I am quite jiggered so will be having an early night.

Spends.

£52 Aldi, including food for the weekend competition, some camping plates etc for the horse box.
£18 nails.
£30 battery charger, but that's for work so will be reclaimed.

Done lots of catching up and tidying up and sorting and shopping.

I sometimes wish my life wasn't so busy!

Cag, are you OK? xx

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/04/2016 19:36

Haha fluffy we are def not getting a dog!! She loves dogs and in an ideal world of course she could have one but in reality where I am a single working parent with two high maintenance cats its not going to happen!!

Lila yep dd also claims to be the only child in her class without a phone, poor deprived child she is Hmm Wink Grin

needastrongone · 28/04/2016 19:39

Glad you are ok Lila.

PurpleRibbons · 28/04/2016 19:45

Great to see you back Lila, hope everything is ok.
Also welcome back blueteapot, I'm afraid I can't help with a replacement, I'm still on a quest to find one that pours straight without dripping everywhere!
I'm definitely going to try and grow an avocado plant, that sounds like a lot of fun! Not sure where I'll put it though.
NSD today, very tired BUT all my coursework is marked! Hooray!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2016 19:55

Has your cold gone Purple?

WreckTangled · 28/04/2016 19:56

I've had to write a note for dd to take into school tomorrow. She came out and almost immediately started crying saying she has to stay in at break tomorrow to finish off her handwriting. Once I manage to get it out of her it turns out she didn't mange to finish it because she was trying to do her best writing and started after everyone else because she took so long to get changed after swimming. She's been upset before that she takes longer than everyone else to get dressed but she does struggle (she has something similar to muscular dystrophy so weakness in her arms legs and hands, struggles with buttons and tights plus has ankle braces she has to get on). Anyway I've asked if she can do it at home rather than at break time as its not like she didn't finish because she was messing around. I really am that parent but she's only five and she's so good at school despite finding things physically difficult.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2016 20:02

Poor little thing, don't they give her a hand? Kids aren't the best at dressing themselves at the best of times.
