creme I will remind you never to go to Aldi again. It sounds a total nightmare.

Cag Well the money will come in handy. At least it's over now.

Em Dh always says you don't mess with the Israelis, I've heard before their immigration staff are quite, umm, forthright in their questioning.

£5.40 on work stuff.

Comeonmommy · 04/05/2016 20:47

Spacek - I do it as soon as they have paid me based on speed of payment and how many stupid questions I have had to answer!!!

I am also an 8-10 but right now I am definitely on the 10 side of the fence. Am trying to eat healthy - really really want to slim down a bit before summer arrives !!

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 04/05/2016 20:58

I need your advice ladies...

Currently have credit card of 2k..0% interest

I have roughly savings of about 7k and 1.4k in help to buy isa ..

Do I just bite the bullet and use my savings to pay off CC (currently pay 200 standing order per month, and any extra I throw at it) or shall I take advantage of the 0%. It just gives me massive anxiety to have it looming over me yet if I see my savings go down that too gives me big anxiety. Feel like I can't win.

8FencingWire · 04/05/2016 21:08

dont, do you have a regular saver account? One that pays 5-6%?
What you could do, is open one and 'pretend' you're paying the CC. Then, when the 0% comes to an end, you simply pay it off with what is in the regular saver, but the interest is yours for a new pair of shoes. How does that sound?

PurpleRibbons · 04/05/2016 21:21

Well done Need's DD!

I just washed myself with shampoo! I squeezed it out by mistake thinking it was shower gel then didn't want to waste it. I'm not sure it was any different except for the smell!

CremeEggThief · 04/05/2016 21:21

Fluffy, it was a shame, as I like loads of the stuff I got, but on balance, it's too much hassle. Let me know when they finally go online or if I ever afford driving lessonsGrin.

The Co-op bank are offering £150 cash to switch. I think you have to pay in £800 a month. More details on the MSE email and website. I've applied for it, for my HSBC bills account.

CremeEggThief · 04/05/2016 21:25

Don't, I would use £2000 to clear the balance. You'll still have plenty left in savings and £200 to spare every month. I'm paying my 0% off at £60 a month (£1650 balance roughly) and I would LOVE to have that £60 spare every month.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 04/05/2016 21:27

I currently have the santander 123 account... Halifax help to buy isa.

I just hate seeing my savings drop. I've had a lot to pay out this year and my balance just seems to be suffering.

CremeEggThief · 04/05/2016 21:29

Excelled report, NeedSmileWine. I wish DS had your DD's work ethic.

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 04/05/2016 21:29

Am I missing something with my santander 123 account. I'm sure it was 3% interest each month or is this over the year?

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/05/2016 21:31

Our mortgage stated that we had to be debt free so if your saving for a house it needs to be gone.

Ememem84 · 04/05/2016 21:35

fluffy yes. They were. Especially on the way our yesterday. I was questioned. Bags searched. Colleague wasn't. He thinks it's because we said we were travelling together. But weren't a couple. And I had a Turkish stamp in my passport. I was a bit shaken up afterwards. They tested all toiletries. Wanted to read my meeting notes Etc.

My colleague was great though. He could tell I was getting freaked out. But nothing he could do other than wait for me. Then whisked me off for a huge pre flight wine. Then more wine on the plane when I just burst into tears. (Scared overwhelmed tired I guess-it's a lot of travel for me). And he also never mentioned me falling asleep on his shoulder. that never happened

£36 at gatwick on gin for Dh.

Tomorrow will be nsd. Im not working so am spending the day typing up meeting notes and trying to unknot my calves. We walked miles yesterday. I was in flip flops. And am in a bit if tight leg pain. May have to get the tens machine out....

Ememem84 · 04/05/2016 21:38

Also £10.89 back from eBay. I bought a dress and it hasn't arrived. Buyer said it was posted on 14/4. It doesn't take this long to get here.

They said no refunds but the money's been returned. I'm wondering if they ever posted it...

dress will probably turn up tomorrow

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/05/2016 21:44

I can't believe what a bunch of skinny minnies you all are Grin honestly your making me feel like a right lard arse Wink

Well done to your dd Need she sounds like a complete Star I had a meeting with dds teachers after school today, was also very positive. They said she was working hard, motivated and progressing well so can't complain about any of that!

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 04/05/2016 21:54

Fluffy does that include things like car finance:o in relation to mortgage...

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 04/05/2016 21:57

I'm 24 this year. I think Im going to set a goal to get enough house deposit by time I'm 28.. Maybe 29 lol.

I think these next few months I'm going to do lots of extra shifts as and when I can. From one bank post it is monthly pay and the other is weekly.

I think I shall keep weekly pay in a separate account and then divide that up as appropriate.

Cagliostro · 04/05/2016 21:59

Still haven't got anywhere near catching up with the thread! Blush

Been a busy afternoon helping DSD with her coursework. Pretty much her last piece now (where the heck did the last two years go?!) - won't be able to do that when she's at uni! :o

But... unexpected win. Best friend phoned me earlier and has basically found me some work! She was asked by a friend whose mum has set up a business, and needed some proofreading/editing by a native English speaker (it's post-translation editing IYSWIM) so suggested me knowing how much I enjoyed the typing/editing I did recently. So I spoke to the lady on the phone and got me a little job :) will just be ad hoc so not a lot of money, but sounds like just the kind of thing I was hoping for :) :) :)

Cag, that's excellent news. Delighted to hear it!Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/05/2016 22:10

Well done Cag Things are looking up!

dont No, cc and loans, hire purchase etc. They asked about mobile phone costs too. He said he was always shocked at how some people were spending so much on phones.

babsmam · 05/05/2016 06:06

Good news cag, if I dare say it things seem on a positive trend for you.

Don't, depends if you can live without the £200. They way I see it you have a choice of carry on with cc bill or pay with savings and redirect the £200 to pay back your savings.

Nsw is a disaster. Who knows what today will bring

babsmam · 05/05/2016 06:11

I took the liberty of starting a new thread. Can't link on the pad but here is the title.

May the frugaleering be with you - frugal chat and support for frugalers old and new.

AdoraBell · 05/05/2016 10:01

That's fantastic Cag

Well done to DD need

NSD yesterday, today I'll probably spend about £12/15. Will update on new thread.

CremeEggThief · 05/05/2016 10:30
