Karcher It sounds like that's your winter quarter bill. They ought to work out what use throughout the year and divide by 12 so you don't have increases.

I'd sack them off, pay the debt & have lower bills from here on in. Are you with British Gas?.

Where did you find the cheapest quote?.

Karcheer · 27/04/2016 14:27

I've quite a lot of fresh blueberries in the fridge, I think muffins probably make the best use of them.

We are with Scottish power and I was looking at the coop

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2016 14:39

Oh good because British Gas don't let you leave with debt.

www.food.com/recipe/very-simple-blueberry-muffins-278278?scaleto=12.0&st=null&mode=metric Vegan muffins. Obviously you'd use real milk but no eggs needed and vegan stuff is always nice and moist because of the oil.

I'll find the mse energy club for you, it's whole of market.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2016 14:43

cheapenergyclub.moneysavingexpert.com/register. Here you go. It'll show you deals uswitch etc miss off.

I've been transferring money to savings, my bank accounts not looking so healthy now Sad

I'm not a natural saver, I want to sit in naice city bars drinking champagne and drive a two seater again!

needastrongone · 27/04/2016 16:24

Karcher, there's nothing to stop you switching to the cheapest tariff your supplier offers while you make a decision, especially given you have submitted recent readings.

Fluffy I know what you mean, I had a frugal win today as the farrier refitted the ponies existing shoes rather than fitting new (he's light on his feet so they don't wear very quickly), I was expecting £65, but was charged £40, but then I did spend £8 in M&S, as I was feeling flush.

Therefore, spends;

£40 farrier.
£8 M&S.

I'm roasting a chicken, but we are having wraps for tea, I want to use the rest for sandwiches, risotto and stock.

In money news, we had our very first cash payment at work today. We are not really in the line of work to do cash sales, this was the first time in 12 years someone has asked to pay via cash. They rolled up with £17k in a rucksack, which I counted, then had to take to our bank. I wasn't robbed, thankfully Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2016 16:34

Omg did you have to check them for money laundering? My relative in law has to money launder clients.

I hope their not going to make a habit of doing that to you.

Karcheer · 27/04/2016 16:42

Omg fluffycloud I miss my convertible car/cocktail life :/

I'll try those muffins.

So apart from my train ticket and hair I got two cards. (£6.98)...

WreckTangled · 27/04/2016 16:42

Shock where do people get this kind of cash from?! I struggle to find a couple of pounds for the car park Hmm

Where's lila? Hope she's ok.

We've got spag Bol for dinner from the freezer. I won't have spaghetti though will just have a bowl of bolognese as I'm getting fat nothing to do with all the chocolate I eat

needastrongone · 27/04/2016 16:45

Ha, yes we credit check all our customers, unless they are using a credit card, and even then we make further checks if the value is over a specific amount. Touch wood, we have very little bad debt.

It's been banked now anyway!

needastrongone · 27/04/2016 16:48

And what they bought is very niche, and used for a specific purpose. So all above board, just a bit random!!

CremeEggThief · 27/04/2016 16:53

OMG, 17k!Shock I bet you couldn't get it I the bank fast enough, NeedSmile.

Spends: £3.50 return bus fare, to go to my nearest collect plus to post off my first ever box to ziffit. I decided I might as well be in for a pound as a penny, and treated myself to a latte and a HUGE brownie for £4.30 (I couldn't finish it all, which is not like me when it comes to chocolate, so I brought the rest home for later) in a café at a nearby plant nursery. The coffee was perfect and I had a nice little walk looking at the plants afterwards. Oh and 49 pence on a pint of milk. Total : £8.29.

Yes, where are Lilac and Laska? Has anyone seen them on other threads?

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/04/2016 17:19

Blimey Need Shock I think I would have wanted that money handcuffed to my arm to take to the bank Grin yy to money laundering, my mum has given me a much smaller sum than that to help towards the new house and she had to swear an oath before a solicitor to make sure it wasn't laundered!!

Have had another busy day, off out again in a min to dds swim lesson. NSD though Smile

Spoke to the vets, Argos (pet insurance) were meant to pay them directly so I now owe them £134 which is fine as money already in my account. Can't believe how much its cost already though, over £300!! Honestly my cats are such money pits, thank God they are insured!!

needastrongone · 27/04/2016 17:51

Ha Ha, the reality is, I only went from the car park to the bank, I wasn't in mortal danger Grin

Glad your DD is enjoying all these clubs and lessons girlie, mine enjoyed them too, and doing a variety helped to figure what they really loved to do.

Pets are money pills aren't they?

Yes, where are lila and laska?

needastrongone · 27/04/2016 17:53

It's snowing, but the sun is shining, which really is random.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2016 17:57

Not seen either of them creme. Isn't collect+ easy compared to Royal Mail? Just scan & a reciept comes out. No faffing. Love it.

So today's spends.

£21 sunscreen and effaclar duo. £1.50 CB. I was going to buy city block but LRP ss was cheaper.

£104 paying off cc for good. Had to pay a late fee so I'm annoyed with myself. Will cancel it when the payment clears.

£15 work stuff.

60p reduced crisps.

Money in

Got refund from gourmet society membership, £40, so that's this weeks food shop taken care of.

Ememem84 · 27/04/2016 17:59

need woah!!! £17 in a backpack. Amazing.

fluffy yes! That's what I want too. My ideal would be a bar overlooking the sea. And a cold bottle of prosecco or muscadet with a fruit des meres to pick at. And crusty French bread. All day. Long.

I met a client for lunch today we went to a fave restaurant of mine to try the new bar menu. It was yum. She got there before me and found us a sunny spot by the windows overlooking the harbour. I had crab on toast and chips. And a glass of prosecco she'd ordered while I was on my way. she also paid for lunch. (Or her business did). So almost living the dream!

Walked to and from work.

Must start packing.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2016 18:39

I forgot.

£5 litre of teak oil in wilkos & 95p on sugar soap.

This weekend I'm doing the garden furniture. I'm determined to be ready for summer when it arrives.

babsmam · 27/04/2016 19:07

£14.40 in the co-op. Still forgot bleeding granola. Pay situation not as dire as thought but still wrong.

Lilac was going through rough stuff, hope she is OK. Hope laska is OK too.

£17k get in. I would have rolled in it , just for a bit,

blueteapot · 27/04/2016 21:17

Hi guys :) sorry I have been AWOL lately, although I have been lurking.

Payday today and time to get back on the bandwagon properly - things just got (considerably) tighter as I'm now on my new lower wages.

Frugal wins today -

Went to a different softplay with the kids and they had a special deal on - £2.20 as opposed to £7.40. Brought along our own snacks where we would normally buy - I didnt bring enough drinks though (lesson learnt!) so had to buy some.

Needed milk and local shop had yellow sticker trays of bbq chicken reduced down to £1.70 for 1.6kg so I got a few for the freezer. Cooked some for tomorrows lunches.

The handle broke on the actual blueteapot so I am on the lookout for a new one. It was such a good teapot and £1 at a boot sale... any recommendations for a really good teapot that will ideally stand the test of time?

Going to have a read back through now :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/04/2016 21:25

Cag don't suppose you have dental implants do you? Have just heard of a friend of a friend who has been seriously ill with CFS for 5 years, had to give up work and was being cared for by his wife. He had his dental implants taken out and is now completely fine Shock its scary really that something like that could cause such serious problems.

Also if anyone wants a cheap project dd is growing an avocado plant for an avocado stone, its surprisingly easy! You need an avocado stone Wink 3 tooth picks and a jam jar. Fill jam jar with water and poke the tooth picks into the stone so it can be suspended over the neck of the jam jar with the bottom bit in the water iyswim.

Then just keep topping the jar up with water so the stone is always in water and after a few weeks it will crack and roots should appear. Apparently you have to wait until the roots touch the bottom of the jar before attempting to plant it.

CremeEggThief · 27/04/2016 21:29

Nope, no dental implants in my case, Girlie.

frazzled74 · 27/04/2016 21:39

Stocked up in pound land on crisps, dried fruit, biscuits etc. £20. My online shop is coming tomorrow and we will then be stocked for 2 weeks fingers crossed. I've got 10 items selling on eBay and they all have watchers, nothing will make more than £5 but it all helps and it's good to have a clear out .

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2016 22:06

Do you mean amalgam fillings Girlie?

northender · 27/04/2016 22:09

Quite a low spend day here, probably as I've not had time to spend any money!! All my taxiing is done now and everyone was in the right place at the right time. Ds did very well in his cricket match so is happy, dd had a good drama lesson, I just need a rest now.
Going out with my parents for tea tomorrow but I think dad is paying. A nurse colleague is retiring tomorrow so I'm going in for lunch which is a Jacob's join so I think I'll bake a quiche for that.

lilacclery · 28/04/2016 05:56

Been missing for a week ye have even gone off my threads I'm on - scouts honour I will catch up in next few days Smile
