Has been quite stormy here today, very different to ystd! We have had an incredibly lazy day, I have barely moved from the sofa. Am wondering if the Tamiflu would be making me feel a bit rubbish.

NSD though Easter Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2016 16:44

Why does she think that?.

Washed a coat to shrink it. Lining ran and now it's pale blue.

It was cream this morning.

Ememem84 · 26/03/2016 17:16

No idea. It's not something I would have suggested. Our Dhs mistake was telling her that we were going to meet Bil in Italy and telling her the dates we were thinking of going. I've told Dh that if she goes I'm not. eugh.

WreckTangled · 26/03/2016 17:28

Oh no em! My mil is lovely luckily.

We've had pizza for dinner and dh had a go at me for moaning at him for opening the new coleslaw before we had finished the old one Easter Angry

I don't know much about tamiflu girlie but I hope you feel better soon though.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2016 17:48

That's got MN thread written all over it Em - yikes! I've never understood how people can just invite themselves to things. Hope it gets sorted! By your DH obviously as it's his doing.

Fluffy oh dear! I don't really understand the colour running thing. We've never had an issue with it, and yet my mum swears by using those colour catcher sheets - and they always turn really dark after her washes. So why do those sheets soak up so much colour when our clothes are unaffected? Confused

DCs had a lovely day with DH, it was really quiet at the event apparently whereas yesterday they said they had 2000 visitors. Weather I suppose.

Spends:
£72.82 Tesco delivery including far too much junk food
£7 DH's bus pass for the day (children ride free today)
£6.45 cafe at the event (of which £3.50 was a mug of tea?! WTF)
£5.50 canal boat ride
50p postcard

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2016 18:08

😳

Dark turquoise polyester lining + cream cotton outer washed at 60 not 30 = pale blue. Polyester can't be dyed but cotton soaks it up.

I probably should have thought it through more. Push comes to shove I can dye the bugger black for £3 in homebargains but trench coats are meant to be pale.

Em Mil knowing the dates has an inevitability about what's going to happen. I really hope you manage to swerve it though. Is it too late to cancel?.

Ememem84 · 26/03/2016 18:12

Fluffy no- not too late to cancel. Nothing's been booked other than time off work.

It's for Dh to sort though. He knows my feelings.

Unescorted · 26/03/2016 18:16

YAY I am back.... I had to clear my cookies a few weeks back & couldn't remember my password. MN doesn't recognise the format of my email so I couldn't even change my name.

Em that is not a good situation to be in.

Fluffy can you not just dye it a purtey blue. I like blue.

babsmam · 26/03/2016 18:23

Spendy day here. £110 but fab. Rail museum was packed but very well staffed. Free event in the city too. Just got back and into the worst of the weather so good choice to go south.

needastrongone · 26/03/2016 18:29

Oh dear Fluffy.

I've just ordered some exam stuff for DS, pens, pencils, ruler, protractor and some study cue cards, the latter more in hope than expectation. I'll stick this through the business though as I'll use them after he's done.

EvaDelectorskaya · 26/03/2016 18:32

Hope you get resolved ASAP Em, sounds like a potential nightmare!

Ememem84 · 26/03/2016 18:37

I honestly can't believe we've been that stupid. But it'll work out. Whatever way it works out.

It doesn't bother Bil when we meet him (or where - he's going to travel from NZ to Spain Portugal and Italy) he's travelling for 4 months. So if we change our dates we can go whenever.

Dh spent £15 at the shop today. Roast chicken and a couple of wines for tomorrow's dinner.

beesarethebest · 26/03/2016 18:44

Sorry to hear about mil potentially gate crashing em. Hope you get out sort it out (or rather dh!).

Oh fluffy sorry about the jacket too...Wine but good job re your petite sizing. I've gone up to a 10 and it doesn't look like it's going down, although if I take the new job, I'll be walking quite a bit more!!!

Yesterday spent £8.60 for 2 tickets at the cinema to watch Kung fu panda 3 for dd and I, and included child package of pop corn, haribo and drink. This is a fab cinema!! I no longer go to odeon type places.

Today, sainsburys £111. Lots of stuff, including snack and lunch box food for kids while they go to holiday camp for the next two weeks.

I've also started my Marie kondo journey..and have so far got rid of tops, pants/bras and socks/tights. 2 charity bags of stuff. That's good isn't it??! I feel so much freer. And v depressing to see the amount of stuff leaving (costs etc) but hey at least this means that I'll wear the stuff that's left behind, that brings me joy!! Grin

The Brussels bombings have been v sobering. I was away in another European country when it happened. I'm usually in Brussels on the Tuesday before Easter (yup. I was there the last 2 years). It's v chilling to think that I could have been there as per usual this year too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2016 19:06

Have they offered you the job then?.

Ipsos · 26/03/2016 19:08

Hello!

Just looking in again. Girlie I've read that tamiflu can cause people to feel a bit rubbish so that might be what it is.

This flu we've had is weird. Ds is still not eating well after two weeks and is getting very ratty. Dh and I are still under the weather so the household is generally a bit tense. We're pottering on though.

We're spending very little due to the not eating and not going out-ness of it all, so good for the frugaleering.

Yesterday was warm and sunny and today was cold and wintery. I wonder if we might go back to warm and sunny for tomorrow? Smile

Hope you're all getting on well.

beesarethebest · 26/03/2016 19:08

fluffy yup! Waiting for the final figure now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2016 19:11

Ipsos That's an awfully long time to be ill. You must all have cabin fever now.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2016 19:13

Bloody well done Bees. The relief must be immense.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2016 19:19

Yay Bees! :o Star

Sorry you're still poorly Ipsos that's so frustrating :(

EvaDelectorskaya · 26/03/2016 19:25

Friday's spends:

€23 on Speedo swimsuit from House Of Fraser, it would have been more but it was reduced in sale and I had a small amount left of an e voucher. I hope it's a good fit when it arrives, it's badly needed, all my other swimwear is a tad 'decorative' for bringing DS to a baby swim class or the local pool!

€14 on emergency dash to local shop when we realised we had completely run out of DS's formula (and for chocolate too), v bad planning there, I don't know how it happened.

Nsd today.

WreckTangled · 26/03/2016 19:32

Bees that's brilliant!

If anyone is doing an Easter egg hunt tomorrow a website netmums has brilliant printable clues. They look great dd is going to love it!

Ipsos · 26/03/2016 19:38

Thanks Cag and Fluffy. We're well enough to be out and not infectious now, so we're just going, which is a relief. I'm hoping that getting out and having a walk will help ds's appetite. My neighbour across the road said it lasted three weeks with them too, so maybe that's just how it is.

I'm excited to hear back from the garden designer who visited last week. He says our garden has a slight slope and we might be able to have two levels. I'm absurdly excited at the prospect of having steps in our rectangular flat garden.

Thanks for the easter egg hunt idea Wreck. Our oxfam shop has a shop window hunt which I think is a great idea.

babsmam · 26/03/2016 19:44

Ooo exciting bees.
Ah even just a little walk out helps ipsos.
Our independent cinema is a bit further than the chains but I would choose it all day long. Cheaper even accounting for fuel and so friendly

beesarethebest · 26/03/2016 19:50

Thanks v much all! Smile slightly nervous about the future but hey, having kondo-ed my wardrobe today (well, some of it), I feel strangely optimistic about the future (sneezed my way through out it though.... !).

I'm wondering whether I should tackle the bottoms section now...?!

Cagliostro · 26/03/2016 19:53

Ooh I would love to have an indie cinema! We just have a massive (15ish screen) Cineworld. Bah.
