need do you have fingerless gloves? I love a crimped hair. I had mine crimped and back combed ages ago for a works do. This was 80's themed. Wore a pair of neon hot pants, frankie says relax Tshirt, neon shied leg warmers and tonnes of glitter. wanted to wear roller skates but they said no for health and safety boo

Cagliostro · 25/03/2016 22:19

I don't mind the Hobbit films, and the book. But the LOTR films are just... wrong. I dunno. Elijah Wood doesn't have a Hobbity face :( those films are all too shiny and polished, whereas the Hobbit trilogy is somehow just right. And lots of funny bits that I always like to catch when DH is watching them all the bloody time

AuditAngel · 25/03/2016 23:00

Hi all. Welcome newbies.

Girlie hope DD recovers quickly. North sorry to hear about DS.

Went to the cinema today £43 for tickets forc2 adults and 3 kids, plus £18 on popcorn/sweets/drinks.this is why we tend to go once a school holiday.

Need to food shop tomorrow. Kids have theatre so need to be up and out early. Parking tomorrow will fe £20, also need petrol, but reclaim that from work.

bootygirl · 25/03/2016 23:50

Em
I usually go by rotten tomatoes. Critics gave it 29% and audience gave it 74%. But dh & DS's want to go and I ve just watched Man of Steel in preparation!!

Audit
We are the same, cinema is just so pricey!

Cagliostro · 25/03/2016 23:59

We hardly ever go either! I think the last film we paid megabucks for was Big Hero 6. When we do go now it tends to be for the Movies for Juniors thing. Although sometimes even that seems pointless, as the film is sometimes already out on DVD by then, and at work I get free rentals. I expect we will go more often when I officially leave my job and lose my staff perks :o

Cagliostro · 26/03/2016 02:13

Spends - just £33.15 for tickets to event for DH and DCs

WreckTangled · 26/03/2016 06:33

Morning! Feeling much brighter after ten hours sleep Smile

Going to lidl today not looking forward to it as I have no meal plan in my head yet.

babsmam · 26/03/2016 06:59

That's good wreck sleep is great.

Free railway museum today buy train and Parking to get there £40 ish as it in a city about an hour away. We may have a wander into the city too but doubtful as the DC hate shopping.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 26/03/2016 08:38

Super weather yesterday, so we were out in the garden pretty much all day. Have so much to do out there. But I started laying the brick pavers (recovered from old unfinished oroject) for the epic patio. I will post before and after photos when it's done (don't hold your breath...) Went to bed with ds and got up at 8am! Am a bit stiff today. Windy, will hang laundry out.

Just £19 in local tiny sainsburys (luckily no clothes) on bacon and brie for sarnies for tea. Kids made epic quantities of choc crispy cakes, and were all happy. Day 1 of 4 day weekend a success.

We only ever shut the shop for 4 consecutive days at easter it is a bike shop which is bliss. I only sit there and knit and mn anyway, honestly it looks like a house inside, you have to step round the duplo train track most days which is all over the floor. I wanted a knitting and tea shop, got overuled as it was dp's money! My stash lives there as it does not fit in the house Blush

northender · 26/03/2016 08:49

wreck are you ok? Glad you slept well.
need hope you enjoyed the party, I love all things 80s, it's my age!

Yesterday was good, better than the previous one, for sure. Messy church was really good, over 100 people there. I'm an irregular church attendee but do like the choice of different types of service, dd & I are hoping to go to the top of a local hill early tomorrow morning for the Easter "sonrise" service.
Then we went to the football & met up with my auntie. Tickets were already paid for so the extra costs were food & drink.
Have been paid for all the extra hours I worked in February so that's given our finances a boost
Going to plan out an email to ds' head teacher today. On a positive note, the experience has prompted some useful conversations with ds. All the hypothetical chats we've had in the past now have a reality about them

babsmam · 26/03/2016 08:55

Ooh knitting. Thankfully for my bank balance you live far enough away from me and my mamil middle aged man in lycra dh.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 26/03/2016 09:19

Morning all, also feel bit better for a good sleep. Was feeling anxious and panicky last night think all thats happened in the last week is catching up with me a bit.

Anyway another quiet day is planned, dd seems fine so we may venture out to see if can find some nice sticks to make an Easter tree with...

Need hope you had fun, bet you both looked amazing!

Wreck hope you are o.kay as well.

North we sometimes go to the Messy Church near us, they put on free tea and cake at the end which is a bonus!!

Agree re cinema we rarely go these days, I was upset when they stopped doing the orange Wednesday offers.

WreckTangled · 26/03/2016 09:57

Yes I'm fine Smile the walking and wine really took it out of me. I'm in quite a bit of pain.

Anyway £42 in lidl as a lovely lady gave me her £5 off voucher. I could have hugged her!

needastrongone · 26/03/2016 10:14

Yep, the 80''s party was brilliant! I wish I could post some pictures, as there was some amazing outfits, but obviously I can't. Adam Ant was brilliant. Someone had a link shell suit on. David Hassellhoff, He-man, Madonna Smile I'm a tad delicate today, but will crack on soon....maybe...

Glad you are feeling a bit better Girlie, and that DD is picking up too. You are bound to have some reaction to everything, that's to be expected.

Railway museum is great babs. We went there a lot when the DC were small.

I'm the other way cag, The Hobbit films do nothing for me, but LOTR are in my favourite list of films. I've read the book about 10 times too.

Not sure re spends today. Will post later, won't be much.

Have printed off loads of free Easter colouring and word searches etc for the dc Easter Smile

Ememem84 · 26/03/2016 11:11

Off riding in a bit. But too much wine yesterday so am feeling a bit fuzzy. Hopefully the fresh air will do me good.

bootygirl · 26/03/2016 11:20

I have gone €28 over our food budget 😳 Hopefully won't spend anymore.

WreckTangled · 26/03/2016 11:40

Meal plan:

S: pizza
S: sausage roast
M: chicken soup
T: nachos with chilli etc
W: chicken korma
T: fish fingers/goujons/croquettes and veg
F: spaghetti bolognese

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/03/2016 11:42

Money out.

Superdrug £14.90 on nip + fab glycolic pads and eye venom. Free delivery because I have a beauty card.

Dorothy Perkins £7.50 new top. Vanity sizing means I'm now too small for most shops size 8 so I'm hoping they cut small. Years ago I was a 10. Ordered a petite fit to be on the safe side.

£24 shoeaholics. The sandals I bought off Kurt Geiger yesterday for £29 are on there for £19.99 so I'll send the others back under distance selling regs and get the £34 refunded.

Money in.
£3.02 from quidco.
£18 from checkout smart. That will pay for most of the shoes.

If you haven't registered with topcashback there's offers for a free £10 of petrol, or cinema or £5 Easter egg for newbies on the snap and save page.

Cagliostro · 26/03/2016 13:30

Wreck I'm glad you're feeling better. Sometimes I do think that even though something really takes it out of you energy wise, it is worth 'overdoing it' now and again, when it's something that raises your spirit.

Girlie and DD take it easy Thanks

I'm also feeling better, if a little disoriented, after more sleep - didn't get to sleep until 1ish, then woke up briefly to have breakfast in bed thanks DH with the others before they left, lay back down on the sofa and only woke up at 12.45 Shock seriously can't remember the last time I slept that late. Must've needed it though I guess. :)

Ememem84 · 26/03/2016 14:44

£25 on riding lesson.

Weather is awful here so don't think we'll be going out anywhere this afternoon. Have washing to do etc. So will get on that.

£147 my ac. £889 joint ac. Cc £0. Purse £16 plus change.

WreckTangled · 26/03/2016 14:53

Rubbish weather here too. I could take the dc out for a walk but I'm in quite a bit of pain still. The dc are being annoying though Easter Hmm also dh said he wasn't working all day but he left at 7:30 and still isn't home so I'm not holding out much hope...

Cagliostro · 26/03/2016 15:11

Ditto with the weather. Thankfully DH and DCs are having a great time apparently so all good, was worried it'd be a waste of money. I'm just lazing really although hoping to get the odd little bit done. Like 5 minutes at a time of productivity and then a rest.

needastrongone · 26/03/2016 15:47

Weather is ok here, much cooler and windier than yesterday, but dry. I bought some plants from the garden centre and have been outside, planted up about 5 pots.

Bit delicate myself today Em, more tiredness than anything I think, but I won't be having a glass of wine tonight Smile

Horseys sorted me out. Had a nuzzle with my fave horse girl. Luckily got home before the wind and rain started up.

Dh skyped mil last night. shes convinced she's coming with us to Italy. Sigh. Have to tell Dh that it's not happening.
