Ooh batman v superman. I didn't realise it was out now!!!

I am mega disappointed that they didn't do a premiere screening here this time. When superman came out Henry cavil came home. although he does actually come home a lot so we see him here often and he's always really friendly.

Ememem84 · 25/03/2016 12:05

booty I hate how expensive the cinema is now. Me and Dh went a while ago and it cost us almost £30 (although some of that may have been the pick n mix I Had). Here it's £10.90 for an adult. Unless you have an unlimited card. But that's not worth it unless you go all the time. Which we don't.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 25/03/2016 12:07

Hi all, thanks for all your warm wishes Smile

Dd looking better each day although I am still on hyper vigilant alert all of the time!! Its beautiful day here which is great as I am in the process of washing everything!! I read ystd that the flu virus can't live outside of the human body for more than a few hours but I'm not taking any chances.

Checked my account and have been paid, am guessing its early due to all the bank hols so ended up finishing the month a fair amount in credit which is good. Trying hard not to spend much now as going to want to buy things for the house when that finally happens.

Not sure what to do about work, I was obviously off all this week and don't really want to go back until after the Easter hols now to give dd a really good chance of a complete recovery. My friend suggested getting the gp to sign me off but am not sure they would do that? Don't want to end up with work telling me I have to go on half pay or something.

bootygirl · 25/03/2016 13:19

Em
It's €28 for four of us to get in & misfortunatly we have to buy the over priced popcorn or it's not a trip to cinema according to dh & DSs 🙄
Dh & I just got to see deadpool ( had gift voucher!) and I enjoyed it more than I thought! Not huge fan of superman! We are batman fans here! But it would be nice to go to see it with DSs.
We can only justify going few times a yr😒

Cagliostro · 25/03/2016 14:18

If it helps, I have heard that Batman v Superman is majorly shit!

CremeEggThief · 25/03/2016 14:32

En-route to London. Just at the train station, waiting for our train. Spends so far:
£5.50 on bus fares.
£6.10 Costa.
£0.90 on water.

Happy Easter 🐰, everyone Smile.

Cagliostro · 25/03/2016 14:59

Have a fab time in London Creme!

Ooh that skirt sounds amazing Em I'm not a Tolkien fan really (can appreciate they are brilliant books, but not my kind of thing IYSWIM) but DH is.

Lilac I'm glad you are going to try some counselling, and that you would be going alone - I have read advice on here that going to couple's therapy with a DV/EA partner can actually make things worse. I hope it is helpful for you. Thanks

CremeEggThief · 25/03/2016 15:02

Thanks Cag.

Lilac, thinking of you. I really hope counselling will help.Brew

WreckTangled · 25/03/2016 15:16

I'm home. Feeling very fragile. Have skim read. Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the weather whilst it lasts.

lilacclery · 25/03/2016 15:22

Thanks cag(I know who you are!) and creme
I found out recently that he'd been lying to me for 15 months about attending counselling, so while I thought we were waiting on him getting diagnosed he was only holding a carrot in front of me all the time. I'm unsure what to do, and what is best for me and my children.

Pointlessfan · 25/03/2016 16:40

I am fed up of bloody rechargeable batteries! My camera uses them, it's a great camera but the batteries die about every 10 minutes. Can anybody recommend decent rechargeables please otherwise I'll have to use very unfrugal and ungreen normal ones!

babsmam · 25/03/2016 17:09

Lilac sound like it will be worth the money.
Crème have a good time.
Girlie pleased DD is better every day. Did you get special leave last week? Maybe annual leave next week?

National trust £6 egg hunt. £3 tea shop. £6 at the beach. £10 fish supper

bootygirl · 25/03/2016 17:24

Lilac
I think u are doing the right thing getting counselling for your self. I did this two years ago and got so much from it. 💐

I just got hogwarts pj's in primark! €7!!
DH said I am not allowed wear them to bed with him 😜 Still have to do my aldi shop and I spent €12 on gluten free bread and goujons for myself. So I have €60 till 31st not sure I can do it!

Cagliostro · 25/03/2016 17:28

Oh Lilac that's awful Angry what a massive breach of your trust, and your patience.

Pointless I haven't got round to using them yet Blush but my friend got us Amazon own brand rechargeable batteries for the train set he bought the DCs. He is a very techy guy, and he uses them himself so must be happy with them.

Booked a very unfrugal event for tomorrow - DH's last hurrah with the DCs before he starts work, and children go free on all buses tomorrow only so that saves a fair bit, and booking online saved 10%. Special event with actors and stuff at this stately home/gardens type place. Based on one of my (and DCs') favourite stories. And I can't go [cries] I need to rest instead - have cancelled on my friends for tonight as well, was supposed to be meeting at somebody's house to eat cake knit and chat. I hate missing out on stuff by being ill. Haven't really helped with decluttering much either. Gah.

Pointlessfan · 25/03/2016 17:54

Thanks cag!

needastrongone · 25/03/2016 18:13

Cag Try not to be too hard on yourself, about tomorrow or about decluttering. It won't help, it will just make you feel down. Your illness is what it is chuck.
You are lovely and kind person, this comes through in all your posts, hope you feel a bit better soon.x

Lila I'm not sure what to say. I think you know my DH is bi-polar. It's been a difficult journey and very hard. My lovely GP once told me though that bad behaviour is bad behaviour, not everything can be put down to mental health. I am respectfully wondering if your DH is veering into this. I can't make it better. I don't know the answers, but I know a little of your journey. It's very important to look after yourself too, I absolutely don't do this, so am a fine one to talk.

I spent £7 in Aldi, the milk I needed, but also baking stuff, as I have a lot of eggs to use.

And £12 in the garden centre, but on herbs and potatoes, which will be used.

I am in charge of bastard pony all week while DD snowboards. I am sure bastard pony knows this as he is doing all his cutest tricks and loving mannerisms (like wiping his mouth all over me after eating... thanks..) to ensure he gets fed and watered. He saw me at a distance today and whinnied really loudly and came charging down the field, doing an emergency stop at the gate, I luffs the pony at present Grin

Cagliostro · 25/03/2016 18:54

Aw need you made me Blush thank you Thanks

I am doing ok really. The plan was that DH would be taking the DCs out without me so I could rest anyway (we just didn't realise there was such an awesome event on :o), and I'll just read and do my puzzle book and watch DVDs :o. You're right though, I mustn't dwell too much, as it is a very slippery slope to getting very depressed for the gazillionth time (long, long history of MH issues). And given what's happening with work this is a very precarious line to be treading! I am ok now though promise. :)

I retreated to bed a while ago, DH is introducing the DCs to Johnny English :o bet they'll love it, I can already hear DS giggling. We first saw it at the cinema with DSS, who must've been about 12 at the time, so it's quite nice to pass it on to the younger ones! It's not been as productive a day as I'd hoped but still a very nice one and I can see a few improvements in the house, more things organised.

DD has been working for hours on an adventure story, chapters and everything. DH and I just kept looking at her curled up on the floor (funny that she's in school uniform, as she's dressed as Ginny Weasley for the fourth day in a row with DH's Gryffindor tie :o) concentrating so hard, and then we'd look at each other and smile with pride. Soppy I know.

Just got to finish the Tesco order for tomorrow - including picnicky stuff for the others to take, and I'm going to choose something easy and probably immensely calorific for me. Decisions decisions. :)

If you're Tesco shoppers don't forget to use your 6 weeks of savings coupons if you have them!

needastrongone · 25/03/2016 19:06

Love Johnny English Grin

DH and me are going to an 80's party tonight at our friends! DH is going as Vivien (sp) from The Young Ones and looks f**king hilarious, he's 'studded' a denim jacket, belt and has a ginger mohican wig!! I am wearing a neon dress, neon plastic necklaces and bangles, pink leg warmers and purple tights, I've crimped my hair Grin

Shy and retiring us Grin

Currently listening to Ultravox to get in the mood Smile

Hello! Just checking in. :-) Ds has been out playing today and having a good time, though looking shattered now and not able to eat dinner. That flu really was a whopper. Hope the recovery continues smoothly - also for Girlie's dd.

We had nice weather today which was a wonderful change. Played with bubble mixture in the garden. It's only £1.40 for one of those big wands in tesco and they're great for groups of children.

Only smallish spends so far except I got a used scanner from ebay for cheap, so that was quite good really.

Hope it's going well for everyone out there.

Ememem84 · 25/03/2016 20:33

£10 on prosecco for lunch. Am a bit drunk. Oopsy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/03/2016 21:38

£8 Tesco but will get £5 back off dh and topcashback.

£34 on new summer sandals from shoeaholics.

What's up Wreck?.

Lila That's a big pill to swallow. Don't let anyone ever say you're not patient.

MinnieLatte · 25/03/2016 21:39

Checking in & have enjoyed catching up with the thread with a glass of wine!
[Girlie] hope your DD is on the mend.
[need] I'm dead jealous of an 80s party! Love a bit of wham & Duran Duran!
I've stayed at home all day, pottering & relaxing. I'm so tired after this term at school & it's been lovely to do nothing today except drink loads of tea & eat cake!
DH & I had a good chat today about his job hunt & other stuff– we've hardly had time to talk lately.
Frugal week again as I've been at work from7.30– 6.00 every day! DH spent £35 in Aldi & £45 in Asda but we do have enough food to feed an army!
Off to Birmingham tomorrow with DD (10) so she can spend some new look vouchers, I'll probably have to face Primark as well Sad Its bound to be a spendy day but will try not to go too mad

Ememem84 · 25/03/2016 22:12

cag I wasn't a Tolkien fab. But we were in NZ in 2014 when the third hobbit movie came out. I watched Lord of the rings before we went and the first two hobbits on the plane. And have read the books. Great story.

I'd also heard batman v superman is shit. But love henry..

I might have a gryfindor quidditch shirt a friend bought for me ages ago. Wear it as pyjamas. Yay!! thinking about it I wear all my sports tops as jammies - Nfl jersey, rugby jerseys, football tops and quidditch
