WreckTangled · 02/03/2016 20:53

Wolf hope tomorrow is better for you St DavidsSt Davids

CremeEggThief · 02/03/2016 20:55

Exciting stuff, Girlie. Full steam ahead from now on!

Take care, WolfChocolate.

I usually shop at Sainsburys online and my weekly shopping is £40-45, on average. Their midweek delivery pass (free on orders over £40) was very good value, at £15 for the year. Online is the key though. Actually visiting Sainsburys is very expensive!Grin

I think stamp duty is only on properties over £150,000, Girlie, but please check that out.

Hugs, wolf - sounds like a really rough day. Take it easy. Brew

Thank you Babs yes it was me re: annual leave. I will make a note to ask tomorrow. They did suggest I took the AL but that was under the assumption that I'd be going back after, and by that time I knew I wouldn't be ready to go back that quickly, or that if I did force myself to go in after the leave I wouldn't last more than a day. So I really didn't think it'd be fair to do that (go off sick, go on leave, go off sick again).

Actually I'm going to write some general notes in preparation for tomorrow - it was really helpful when I did that in advance of my occ health phonecall.

Girlie

Conveyancing is a £1000 here. You can use any conveyancer in the country. It needs to be started as soon as the mortgage comes through because some searches take a while to come through.

London and county/country are meant to be excellent brokers if they aren't saying you have to use their broker.

£11 yesterday but quidco is giving me £3 back.

£17 work supplies
£4 Tesco but will get £2.60 back
£10 fuel.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/03/2016 21:04

Ooh and £4 on fabric dye and a smoke alarm battery.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 02/03/2016 21:08

Hi all right just caught up I think!

Ipsos sounds like very good advice from the teacher, being a parent is always a fine line between being protective and being precious. I struggle to walk that line all the time!! I think having an 'only' magnifies it sometimes as there is no other sibling to take the focus off so the relationship between parent and child can be quite intense. Dd has a day trip to London with school next week and I can feel my anxiety levels going up when ever I think about it!

Fuzz that does sound like something my dd would love - thank you for thinking of her!

Wolf Flowers hope you are o.kay.

Its freezing here and blowing a hoolie

WreckTangled · 02/03/2016 21:14

Dd's teacher and head teacher definitely think I'm precious Grin at least it shows we care though Wink

Laska5772 · 02/03/2016 21:53

Why are glasses so expensive? Angry
£319 iat Vision express !! Shock
Eye test . 1 new pair intermediate specs for computer
1 new pair reading glasses , and reglazing my old reading sunglassess..

Ive had ruddy laser eye surgery too! ( that was about 16 years ago though.. and sadly that doesnt help reading )

Wolfcub · 02/03/2016 22:12

Ouch laska that's a bit steep. Have you looked at ordering on the Internet ?

northender · 02/03/2016 22:22

girlie glad the house is working out in the end
ipsos fingers crossed for your ds, he sounds lovely but I'm sure it's draining for you
wolf hope you're okay

Crazy day today as I worked a full day, as opposed to my usual early finish so dd walked herself home from school (she got into her 1st choice secondary by the way.....Yaaay!). Dd & ds then had drama and cricket respectively so needed ferrying about by me as dh has gone off to a players meeting at the cricket club as he has signed up for the "Sloggers & Boozers" team!!

I've developed my own spreadsheet (with a bit of help from dh) to keep track of our finances. I just did it a bit at a time, trial & error really, but it works for me.

girlie see above link I hope it works...

babsmam · 03/03/2016 06:24

NSD planned today.
Yeah for first choice secondary school.

Colliefeatures · 03/03/2016 07:41

Laska I'd love to find a solution to expensive glasses. Mine were £200 for one pair and they keep falling off my face.

wolf thinking of you Flowers

Frugal wins are: Scottish power actually took £66! Actually expected them to take the £135. Phew!!

I've saved £67 this month by reviewing direct debits with Scottish power, south west water and council tax!

needastrongone · 03/03/2016 08:37

I am the least precious parent I know, doesn't occur to me to worry about them when they are not with me, they are brill kids, they will be fine. That being said, I bet I worry about some other parenting matter that you guys don't even consider Smile

Ah Wolf, MH is a tough thing. DH is bi-polar. He's in a steady place at present, but the ups and downs are tough for us all. Take care. Flowers

Really chuffed for the secondary place North, is this the last time you will have to do this?

Laska That's the thing about laser surgery that has put me off, the fact it doesn't stop the need for glasses, I am too old now for surgery at 44.

Hopefully a NSD but DS is eating so bloody much at present, going to try to make some of Jamie's seed type bars, as he's eating tons of these.

Off to work.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2016 09:40

Car cost £150! Bloody thieving garage. I'm now in Costa spent £5 something resisted a cake.

Spent £20.53 in boots on hair bands for dd, make up sponges, a new mascara and a lip glass and got a free max factor gift of full sized mascara, lipstick and nail varnish so that's good worth £27.

Need to pop to the bank and get something for my mum and step mum for Sunday.

Ipsos · 03/03/2016 10:07

Where do you get the recipe for seed bars need?

I can imagine that one of your parenting challenges is finding opportunities for your very very able kids to make the most of their talents. They are clearly very able and very independent, and getting them the opportunities to shine must take up a bunch of thought and money.

Ipsos · 03/03/2016 10:09

I've got a new one to try today.

My expensive haircut last week came out all weird and I can't even disguise it by tying it back. I'm going back to the shop today and they're going to have a second go at it, free of charge. What could possibly go wrong?

needastrongone · 03/03/2016 11:23

Enough. I'm off. Xxx

WreckTangled · 03/03/2016 11:32

I also spent £12.99 in between the lines Blush on two cards and a book for ds. It's got dinosaurs and diggers in; his two favourite things.

So all in all a very spendy day. I might need to post my mums card too hmm...

Ipsos · 03/03/2016 13:06

Gosh! Are you off on a mission today need? That sounds very resolute. I hope it works out well.

I'm away to have this second hairdo soon, so definite crossing of fingers there.

WreckTangled · 03/03/2016 15:40

Dh has told me not to take dd swimming and to only use the car for essential journeys but dd sobbed because she really wants to go so we are going anyway and won't tell dh until we get home unless we break down again

supermariossister · 03/03/2016 15:50

£8 boots for ds for residential, down from £18 though so good!

Dp bought me some boots for mothers day down to £10 going to try them on and see how they feel I have so many shoes that set off my pf want to be sure I can wear them.

Bought minimal stuff for my nans, a vase, mug and chocolates for one, bath foam and chocolates for the other. The sooner it's over over the better for me (y) that sounds really bitter and I do hope everyone enjoys the day just stings right now when I'm struggling and missing mum.

Ds is at a movie night till 5pm it feels weird not going the school run. Then we have a manic few weeks including his 3 day residential. He seems happy enough he is actually a much more confidence child when I'm not there when I'm there he tends to hang around me and not want to join in as much.

shutupandshop · 03/03/2016 15:54
