Oh and no I don't think it's right to leave a child with a head injury - I hate confrontation too, could you frame it as wanting to get clarification to shame them into realising they didn't do it :o. I still remember when DSD was about 13, she fell at the end of tutor group and hit her elbow on the way down. She told her teacher she was in pain but he just left her on the floor. Turned out she'd broken her arm! Poor thing. That teacher was a twat generally.

Another good thing, when we cleared out what is now the geeky display shelf, I found my second pair of glasses! My main pair has lost most of the scratch proof coating on one lens so it always looked dirty and blurry. They were a good few years old. Have switched now and it's all exciting like having a totally new pair :)

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 28/02/2016 21:58

My dd still had playmobil, lego and Sulvainian families for her 10th bday Fuzz you still have at least another year or two of real toys yet!

Yes will go in with 'Just wanted to clarify what happened...' approach and see what they say.

fuzzpig · 28/02/2016 22:01

Thanks pointless and girlie - trying to just think "oh sod 'em" really, I think I was quite naive as I really thought everyone there was my friend but I've since realised they really aren't. But I do have some very good friends from there and we really look out for each other, that's what matters. :)

What are you reading pointless? I'm reading Grace Williams Says It Loud - been on my list for ages. Read Girl on the Train recently which was totally not worth the hype Hmm

fuzzpig · 28/02/2016 22:09

Hurrah for toys. :) DD actually asked for some Ben and Holly playsets (I did tell her they break easily as her Gaston's Cave set did when she was 4 - may put some figures in her Christmas stocking though - Nanny Plum and the Wise Old Elf are brilliant :o) and was today pining for an Iron Man doll. I'm definitely getting her one of those crystal mining sets that you got your DD, as on the Usborne book sale I got a set of '100 rocks and minerals to spot' cards which will go nicely. I also got a colour illustrated copy of Heidi in that sale, but mum is 'buying it off me' to give her - I'd only got it because I've heard it's a lovely story, but it turns out it was one of my mum's favourites as a child so it will be far more special coming from her :)

Can't seem to stop posting tonight :o DH is doing the ironing and watching the latest Terminator snoozefest DVD (may as well make the most of free rentals while I still have my job Wink) - I should be doing various admin things online but can't seem to click away from MN!

A spendy Sunday, £100. DD needed clothes and shoes. I also bought 2 £20H&M gift cards from Tesco, they sell them at 20% off. £40 worth of vouchers but I paid £32. I am putting them away and giving them to my DD for her birthday, which coincides with sales.
Have a lovely week everyone:)

babsmam · 29/02/2016 06:41

Pay day yeah, we made it.
NSD today as need to visit in laws and eye infection is now firmly lodged in my sinus and top of my throat. Come on tonsils keep doing your thing. Should be back at work tomorrow so doing as little as possible today.

babsmam · 29/02/2016 06:44

Fuzz. I third the seek clarification tack, she should have been monitored at all times and had someone with her. My Dd school called the fast response car when Dd fell and bumped her head. The egg was a sight to behold and the gave it the appropriate level of care imo.

colliepirate · 29/02/2016 07:20

girlie definitely "seek clarification"

Why am I watching Wanted Down Under? Stop it, Collie! Australia is basically Cornwall, right? Grin I'm very good at kidding myself.

Spendy day: I may buy some new leggings if I can find any at a reasonable price and DH has the dentist again.

Twitfeatures · 29/02/2016 07:25

I just changed my name!

My auto correct slip ups include Dick Stein and Slag Bol! Wink hope you can all work out who I am. I also like pasties.

WreckTangled · 29/02/2016 07:48

Collie my mil has just hired a gp from Truro to go and work in one of her practices in New Zealand. I'm so tempted to go over there (not that they would want me!)

fuzzpig · 29/02/2016 08:31

Ooh Allguns is that 20% off giftcards a general thing? Or a specific offer? :)

Another bonus from yesterday's tidying - found the clubcard so was able to log in at last. £87.50 in points, am astounded as I thought it'd be much less. We always boost them 4x to get the most out of them, so that's a huge amount :) annoyingly there aren't many places that accept tokens where we're going next month but we've got our main meal out sorted I think, presuming the place (the only chain we don't have in our town so nice for a change, although they all seem much the same these days anyway :o) is easy to get to.

Hope everyone has a fab and frugal day. We are staying home and hopefully getting a fair amount done - starting some new topics with the DCs and also want to carry on tidying in small and manageable bursts. Waiting to find out if DH has to stay late (depending on staff).

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 29/02/2016 09:47

Fuzz have you taken your dd to Build a Bear? That is my dds idea of heaven Grin might make a nice bday treat? Well done on the club card points Star

I did have a word this morning and just said I thought dd should have had someone sat with her incase she had vomited or become confused, I also pointed out that a&e were asking me questions I couldn't answer as no one from the school had handed over to me! They were suitably shame faced and accepted that that should have happened!

Twit I will need more clues!

Right must go to work!

WreckTangled · 29/02/2016 09:53

Fuzz that's amazing! That'll really help with costs of trips.

Girlie well done for saying something.

WreckTangled · 29/02/2016 09:54

My Amazon order has been cancelled because they were out of stock Angry

babsmam · 29/02/2016 09:59

Well done girlie, sounds like you pitched it just right.
Result with the club card fuzz.
Wreck boo.

northender · 29/02/2016 11:02

First time I've posted peoperly for a while. I've been doing extra hours at work & have found it draining trying to keep up at home too. Ds is fine but dd needs time spending with her. Anyway the extra hours are pretty much done now and will be a welcome bonus at the end of March. As of tomorrow I am increasing my hours from 20 to 22.5 (3 full days). Not a lot but it all helps. At the moment it is for 6 months until one of my team retires and then we'll review staffing overall but hopefully it will be a permanent change for me.

Secondary school places are released from midnight tonight so I'll stay up to check dd has got in to the same school as ds. I'm sure it'll be fine but I forgot to check our application before the deadline passed so have managed to convince myself I've done something wrong!

Went to London last week for ds to have his chest braces checked. We knew it was going well but the orthotist was really pleased. He did 3D scans again and the difference is plain to see. He is now just wearing one brace for the next 2-3 months and then he will hopefully move to the maintenance phase, which could be a couple of years when he just wears it to sleep in. It still makes me cross that the treatment is not available on the NHS, so glad we did it though Smile

Lots more posts to read back through, will be back later.

babsmam · 29/02/2016 11:30

Fingers crossed for the school place north. Good news on ds's brace too

£9 waterstones but one book is going back if I can borrow it for Friday.
90p wilkos
£23 in bhs on two shirts for Dh
£3.90 posting a parcel but eBay covers that
£1.99 new note book as Dh nicked mine for work this morning
£1 car park as couldn't be bothered to walk across town.
Resisted a £40 next spend but they have a lovel jade green card I in which I love. Will see of hof has similar colours in and use my magic beans that I still have from Christmas

fuzzpig · 29/02/2016 12:04

Ooh that's annoying Wreck

Girlie actually DD has been saying that she would love a BaBW bear - our neighbour has loads. And apparently they now do Pikachu teddies... There is one in my hometown so I had wondered about taking her as part of her present (she looks a bit wistful when we go past it!). Any ideas on how much it would cost though please?

And well done for talking to the school - hopefully they will improve their handling of the next similar incident.

I dread to think how much we've spent to get that many clubcard points. Although now I think about it, the last time we traded any in was around June as we were going to take DD's friend out for a meal before she moved away - so it's had several months to build up and we do about 95% of our shopping there (deliveries). Mind you sometimes it works out really great value - I had a coupon for points when I got a shaving gel - one I like anyway. I wondered if it would be cheaper for DH to buy it at his shop (discount) but it was on sale at £2 so added it to my Tesco order and the bonus points will be worth £3.40 when boosted. Woohoo! (I'd love to do all that snapnsave stuff as well but don't have the right tech or the opportunity to visit different shops.)

Had a really productive morning so far with some tidying as well as home ed. We've started studying A Midsummer Night's Dream (obviously an abridged story version for now but we might look at some of the full text at some point) - cue much hilarity about the character called Bottom :o

fuzzpig · 29/02/2016 12:12

North hope the school place works out! I totally understand about that niggling paranoia about having done it wrong. I'm always like that with forms and official stuff. And YAY that the braces are working. Bad that they don't do it on NHS though, I really think everything like that should be free for children even if not for adults.

babsmam · 29/02/2016 12:19

Fuzz bab website has consistent with the shop prices. You can build your bear there to get used to how things are put together. . Not a cheap do but DD loves it, get the loyalty card to £5 back per £50 spend. The shop is an assault on the senses though especially noise. Dd8 loves it I think it's hell on earth

babsmam · 29/02/2016 12:20

Sorry fuzz I wasn't clear there. On line you can play about with selecting bears, outfits, accessories etc so when you get to store you are a bit more prepared and can manage expectations re spend levels

WreckTangled · 29/02/2016 12:21

Great news north! Fingers crossed in the school place.

I've so far folded and out away two loads of washing, washed another two and about to hang second one up. I've also sorted through two kitchen drawers and got all the stuff into one drawer. Ds and I have been outside in the lovely sun and he's learnt to pedal is bike! So proud as he's only three, dd can barely do hers due to her issues so I'm hoping this means ds doesn't have ittoo

fuzzpig · 29/02/2016 12:24

Aw yay MiniWreck! :)

Thanks Babs I had taken a very brief look at their site a while ago but hadn't done it properly so I'll go and investigate now (DCs having their play time upstairs so won't see!)

Ememem84 · 29/02/2016 13:10

So far nsd.
