Crazy eights is a very easy card game. I can't exactly think how to play it but I'm sure you could find instructions online.

fuzzpig · 12/02/2016 20:32

I'm just catching up on the thread, and see frozen rice mentioned. How do you cook it? Do you still boil it? Or can you stir fry it from frozen and stuff? DH and I are always burning rice. I would love to have an easier way of doing it (even a rice cooker thing didn't work)

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2016 20:40

Fuzz What a cunt. I think they want another manager in there, my dad had this happen to him. I still have everything crossed that he will get another job before they start disciplinary proceedings.

£36 Aldi
£6 morrisons mainly wine but I can claim 30p back for the lettuce.
£6 homebargains cleaning stuff and contact lens cleaner, dolmio sauce.
£20 jeans in river island.

fuzzpig · 12/02/2016 20:50

Aw, poor DH is coughing so much he's puking Envy :(

Cut most of my hair off today. Looks crap. But will still be up in a (now minuscule) ponytail all the time anyway (figured that's lower maintenance than a proper short style)

fuzzpig · 12/02/2016 20:58

Indeed Fluffy that's what DH reckons. That he's got one of the newbies in mind. Funny though because other local managers have said they would never in a million years take DH's store, because the technology is so faulty... hahaha :o

DH is a really talented manager, that's the frustrating - and weird - thing about it. He's won two regional awards in the last year. In his previous company he even had a phenomenon named after him - 'the mrfuzzpig spike' because whatever store he went to (he was often sent to troubleshoot etc) they'd get huge increase in sales, customer feedback, everything. His last store before his back injury (2010) was in our local area and even now he still gets his old customers coming up to him, begging him to come back because it's not the same without him, it's gone downhill, awful service etc.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2016 21:11

Has he got proof of those awards?. Other companies will have seen this happen before.

Dh is motor trade, it's even worse. People join, fuck up, leave. Join another brand, fuck up, leave. Join another brand, fuck up, leave.

He gets new sales monkeys who've come from ford, Citroen before that, BMW before that. I don't know how some of them manage to breathe in and out unaided.

They earn a fucking fortune for not being able to figure out that the spare part they ordered will be in, wait for it, THE PARTS DEPARTMENT. Astonishing no?.

NK5BM3 · 12/02/2016 21:23

fuzz sorry to hear about your dh's job. The guy sounds like a bully. Can he counter sue him?!

I applied for a job on the weekend (deadline Sunday 2359). Got a call today for an interview. Need to get my administrator to move some meetings...! Commute to London again but a better one hopefully.

5minutestobed · 12/02/2016 21:45

Fuzz that sounds very similar to what happened to the assistant manager at my DHs work. the boss took a dislike to him and all of a sudden he was having a disciplinary for random stuff to try and get rid of him. Luckily he managed to get a brilliant new job and used the rest of his holidays to leave straight away, I was so pleased for him and I don't even really know him! Does worry me that this boss is not a huge fan of DH though so he could do the same to him.
I hope your DH manages to get a new job and tells them where to stick it!

Pointlessfan · 12/02/2016 21:45

That's exciting NK, good luck!

fuzzpig · 12/02/2016 21:54

I'm still catching up on the thread - sorry Em I totally missed what you said about extreme sports and stuff. That's a really interesting point! I don't think he tends to mention that, but I will check, thank you.

fuzzpig · 12/02/2016 21:55

He's got the fecking trophies on his office shelf, Fluffy - it's so not funny it's actually hilarious. :o

needastrongone · 12/02/2016 22:11

Just in from training, left at 4pm, just back in. Am knackered. Good session, the team are so far ahead of where they usually are at this time in the season, which bodes well for competing.

£6 training. Subbed my friend £6, and I think DD took £2 to get a drink and a bun.

Girlfriend36 · 12/02/2016 22:16

Just back from dropping my dd with her Grandad for the wend, always feels a bit weird when she is not here! He is planning on taking her to Longleat over the wend though so she will have a brilliant time Smile

Train was about £13 so not bad.

Ugh work tomos.

fuzzpig · 12/02/2016 22:23

Aw, Longleat! Always fancied going there. Hope they have a lovely time together - and you enjoy some child free grown up time! :)

Right, all caught up with the thread, got the telly to myself now as DH has gone to bed. Think I'll read though. Spent such a long time reading that Asperger's book that I got a massive build up of fiction I want to read. I'm reading that Girl on the Train one - massively popular but I can't say I'm really seeing what all the fuss is about?!

WreckTangled · 13/02/2016 06:21

(Name change alert)

NK good luck with the interview!

We've been to longleat and are planning to go again this year.

Today will be spendy off to lidl in a bit then later this afternoon the dc are getting their hair cut at a new children's salon in town.

babsmam · 13/02/2016 07:13

Good luck with the interview nk.
Ah Im rubbish at guessing who name changers are, give us a clue please?
Not sure about today. DS had a temp of 38+ last night and I could see one lump on his throat with headache and temp, now just has the headache and less temp.

Ememem84 · 13/02/2016 08:07

Friday's spends £4.67 on lunch (peri peri chicken wrap with salad and cheese toasted from my fave Cafe, a lilt, an apple orange and small box of strawberries from the market) yum.

Also ventured into next. I've been wanting a pair of short biker style boots for ages. And saw them yesterday. Tried on. Dithered about it then remembered my gift cards. £65 "reduced" with gift cards to £15 so happy with that.

todays spends £25 riding. Then back home to read through my recipe books. We've fallen off the fun meal meal planning wagon. So need to get back on it.

Dh announced yesterday he's going to Zurich in a few weeks for work. lucky

Checked my penny saving acc. Have almost £25 in there!! Since January 1. And my pound coin jar is almost full. So soon I'll be able to count that up and drag it to the bank.

I hope everyone has a better weekend than their respective weeks.

Allgunsblazing · 13/02/2016 08:11

NSD yesterday.

Today £5 on eyebrows threading and I need to get the paper. Can't believe there won't be an Indie anymore!!!

CremeEggThief · 13/02/2016 08:38

I haven't been on for a few days, so you had dropped off my TIO. It was my birthday on Thursday, so spends were £15 on a meal at Pizza Express (DS went halves as my birthday present. I don't want more stuff in my house, so would rather meals as presents. I know they don't 'last', but going out for dinner still counts as an experience, IMO.) and £7, travel to work, and yesterday was £7, travel to work. I am really poorly and lost my voice on Thursday night, so will probably be in bed most of the weekend Sad. Going to try to go back to sleep now.

CremeEggThief · 13/02/2016 08:39

Need, sorry to hear about your friend. (Hugs).

babsmam · 13/02/2016 08:44

Happy birthday crème. Get well soon.
DS has turned down food and the skate park, off to the walk in as I can see a yucky throat.

babsmam · 13/02/2016 08:44

The sporners would love it

Ememem84 · 13/02/2016 08:56

creme happy birthday! Feel better

babs is ds' throat red with white spots? Mine was the other week. It was pretty cool gross. I hope he feels better.

Hot squash is the way forward. According to my grandma you can cure anything with hot robinsons lemon which has been sat in a cupboard for years.

Does anyone know about growing things indoors. I have a lovely bay window. Which is currently home to two orchids and a storm lantern. I'm thinking about maybe seeing if I could grow tomatoes/chillis/peppers. I know nothing about growing but like the idea. We don't have a garden (first floor flat) so no outside to do it in.

When we get our forever home it must have a garden. And I'm planning on having a veg patch. I have this idea of being like Tom and Barbara from the good life but I fear I'll be more like margot

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 13/02/2016 09:02

Hi! Just wondered if I could join u guys?

Ive started a new job which is term time only and because its different each month my housing benefit keeps going up and down so worse off some months! So need to save enough to cover my rent in aug when I dont get paid (£925) then I want to clear our credit card so there's one less bill to worry about!

Current budget is £60 per week for food/going out - there's me, my partner and 2 girls age 7 & 3. There's a separate amount for holidays. This half term have budgeted £80 extra, hopefully wont spend that much!

babsmam · 13/02/2016 09:14

Yes em red with just on, super size pus blob. not that I'm a sporners or anything
