Welcome cheerful

supermario really hoping your DSs mood improves soon. Even my DS at 2 went through a phase like this. It was so draining. I had to teach him to meow like a cat instead of the constant whine. Brew

I've just been doing some figures and we should be a bit more comfortable when the new tax year hits us. I put DHs salary, workplace pension etc into a 2016/2017 tax calculator. The extra money will make a big difference to us even though it's not much to most people. Only £50 or so.

The extra money will boost our food budget by £25 a month. And £25 a month towards Xmas. Grin simple things!

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 11:24

I think i would prefer the meowing at the minute, everything is stupid or pointless grrr. Good news about the budget and christmas savings, it makes a huge difference towards the end of the year doesnt it.

got selected for the pasta sauces product test on here so awaiting parcel, have to review by the 4th so I can see us eating a lot of pasta in the next week! also got another food product test through toluna so thats good.

lilacclery · 23/02/2016 12:05

What age is he super?

colliepirate · 23/02/2016 12:07

Oh no super! I thought he was a toddler. No idea why Blush

lilacclery · 23/02/2016 12:12

I just booked our holiday Grin We're going to a music festival in ROI (paid for at Christmas) plus heading over to Scotland for 4 nights in a Haven campsite afterwards.

With what I've been saving for it we'll have exactly €70 spending money after paying for it, took the money out of savings but will replace. Will need to up the ante to have more than that. However there will be no money spent on groceries so we'll have that money as well.

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 12:12

Haha no he is 8! although you would be forgiven for thinking he was a toddler this morning the way he was sulking at back to school!

he doesnt get on with one of the boys in class and this morning was anticipating he was going to annoy him today, chase him and wind him up but as i pointed out this morning i cant complain about things that he thinks might happen!

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 12:15

sounds a great holiday and experience , really cool

lilacclery · 23/02/2016 12:31

Who's the normal badcop out of you and dh?
Would this be a reason for ignoring dh's orders? I know that my children gravitate towards me because they don't see dh as much as me and he can be irrationally intolerant of their normal childish behaviour

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 12:39

i think the kids have picked up on my problems with dp discipling, stepson and stepdaughter live here half the time and although dp is strict he isnt consistent his daughter gets away with alot more/milder punishments than his son does.
Stepson and ds get moaned at and dealt with a lot more than sdaughter and for less if that makes sense and it does cause problems. he is too harsh with his punishments though and they dont solve the problem for instance they were arguing over terraria about who got the stuff they had earnt - dps response was to tell them he was going to delete the whole save game so they didnt have a problem so i had two crying children who have spent ages creating this world on the game and building, where i would of said right its fair if x gets this many and x gets this many too or i would of taken them off it for a while and point out if you cant get on you dont play. We have very different views on punishments but i know ds ignoring him is really annoying and effecting him.

i need to just let him deal with things how he wants to without disagreeing with him buts its hard when i dont think hes being fair or consistent

Pointlessfan · 23/02/2016 12:39

I've had toothache since my dental check up Sad
That sounds like a lovely holiday lilac.

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 12:40

thats how i feel like hes intolerant to how the boys misbehave silly boy behaviour jumping around arguments over the console whereas his daughter he will " oh shes a teenager, tired, the boys were annoying her" she is a gem and i love her to bits but its ruining their relationships a bit because they are noticing the different treatment

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 12:42

hope the toothache goes away soon! i hate toothache its a pain you cant escape from.

Ememem84 · 23/02/2016 12:58

£21.80 in boots. I am now the proud owner of about a million packs of face wipes curse you special offers slightly over budget of £20 but only just. And I stuck to my list. #smug

supermariossister · 23/02/2016 13:00

good news on the face wipe bargain, im terrible and use them for everything when i have them, spills, wiping the sides, faces. thats why they go so quick!

lilacclery · 23/02/2016 14:02

Super I find that dh is very hard on ds2 maybe subconsciously he's trying to make up for not being hard enough on his own ds who's now 21, almost trying to right the wrongs that were made with him if that makes sense.

Luckily he was 15 when dd came along so there was never a case of she gets x and why don't i with them.

Your ds is probably feeling like his dad had them first perhaps

Em sticking to your list, how does one do that? Can you be trained in this specific skill?Grin

Pointless good luck with ttc too Wink

AdoraBell · 23/02/2016 14:27

Can't remember who it is now, but my DD had eye patches for a squint, they really do work if you start young enough. Our Dr in Chile said the window of opportunity in terms of brain development closes at age 8,

I got 3 litres of fruit juice free because the delivery driver couldn't see which one was leaking so she logged them all as faulty. I need to buy toothpaste if there is time between appointments.

Ipsos · 23/02/2016 14:29

Sorry to hear about the rude recruiter Collie. Have you had a look at Upwork? It's really working out well for me at the moment. I've got a steady job on there for 10 hours a week at a good rate of pay and I'm loving doing it. I just did 42 lovely minutes of writing before coming on here.

There's tons of web design work on there and no interview and no face-to-face contact at all. You just do a bit of work to show your skills and then get hired. It might be worth a look with all your experience.

Ipsos · 23/02/2016 14:31

Adora Big agreement on eye fixing from here. I had that squint eye intervention done when I was 28 which should have been well beyond the time when it would have worked, but it worked a treat for me. I had double vision before and couldn't read and now, as you can see, I am reading like the clappers.

WreckTangled · 23/02/2016 14:39

Argh forgot toothpaste!

Spent £15 on ingredients. I will lose a stone. I will.

Had a shitty day at work with a dr being an arse so I complained about him to the manager.

lilacclery · 23/02/2016 14:57

Can you lose a stone for me also tangled?
I'm trying no eggs this week as my diet is very healthy and being wheat free didn't help last year so I'm trying egg free now. Have had oatibix for breakfast, weetabix, porridge etc this past week. I don't like texture of oatibix or weetabix but if it gets weight moving I can copeGrin

CheerfulYank · 23/02/2016 15:00

Lilac I live in a really small town so there is no public transport. :)

We do have another car that we don't currently use. I'm going to try to convince DH to sell it. We wouldn't get much for it but enough to clear the mortgage for a few months.

Super my 8 year old DS is a pain too. The moods of him! I didn't think I'd have to deal with that til he was a teen!

CheerfulYank · 23/02/2016 15:03

Pointless I'm in Minnesota. Way up north :)

It just feels like something always comes up, money wise! We're going to have to get our dog neutered soon and that will be $150 at the very least, and we are putting a new tub&shower in the bathroom, which we've already paid for but there will be additional materials to actually install it...sigh. If it's not one thing it's another!

WreckTangled · 23/02/2016 15:37

Ill try lilac! My weight all goes on my stomach! Have you tried dairy free? I'm not because I love cheese and chocolate, hence needing to lose a stone Grin

Said grumpy dr has sent me a text message to apologise. I'm not sure what to say, my go to response is to say something funny because I don't like talking about feelings and stuff BlushGrin

needastrongone · 23/02/2016 15:45

Welcome Cheerful.

Just petrol today - £60

Wolfcub · 23/02/2016 15:49
