Where in the world are you whatabout? I'm not far from Yarmouth!

Whataboutnodetox · 19/02/2016 10:51

Cheese we live in Milton Keynes, GY is pretty much our closest sandy beach!

lilacclery · 19/02/2016 11:01

cheese I keep track of who's said what by looking up the thread while I'm typing not sure how others do it. Not working this time because there's only one post on page 27 ahead of me

knitting he's fabulous! I was a few hundred away from the limit but I put a race on it paying for myself, my sis and two cousins, of course they gave me cash and I had a half day unpaid at work that week so I used it and never put it back in.

This weekend i intend to spend time reading up on ynab and putting that into practice

fuzz I'd be going to the dentist too with that. Love ems description of what the consequences of not going areGrin dh would wait for that to happenGrin

wreck when you feel like that about a car there is no comfort or pleasure in driving anywhere. you had roadside assist one morning lately too didn't you? Well done to your dd, mine is attending swimming classes for about 1.5 years and only this week did she put her face in the waterShock

Discussed my idea regarding buying my next car with dh last night and we're going to trade the au pairs car (02 high mileage giving bother) next Jan for my next car and she will get my car(05 good mileage no issues) then which will make for better value for the trade in allowance and means we'll be keeping my 7 seater which is great for when we've visiting children or go on holidays. The costs of keeping on to the older car for a year while I save more of a deposit is estimated at €2.5k which would be half what I was planning on saving. Knowing this has made me so much more determined to get as much into savings as I can, but first credit cards must be blitzed.

colliepirate · 19/02/2016 11:05

Loving the knitted labradoodle!

fuzz a dentist is a breeze compared to a smear test! I've been put off dentists by a nasty one too so I completely understand. I've never met a horrible dentist since though. My current dentist is gorgeous with a smooth Irish accent. Wink

cheese and what I met a lady a few years ago who thought Cornwall was in Yarmouth. Grin

lilacclery · 19/02/2016 11:11

Spends this weekend are babysitter tomo night, dinner is free it's a christmas party for organisation I volunteer for, may need to buy a round of drink. May buy newspaper tomorrow also that's €1.30 because it comes with a lovely magazine Daily Mail on Saturday, my only newspaper in the week and my only magazine ever. Magazines are such a waste, I always have my phone with kindle app/kindle with me.

Sorry for epic posts

Lovetoknit · 19/02/2016 11:45

knitting fab labradoodle Grin
need had a similar meltdown with ds because I asked him to tidy up under his desk and behind his cabin bed Wink
fuzz good luck with the dentist, you can do it - big virtual hug Smile

I have to take dc for their check up this afternoon, ds is bit afraid as he has 3 wobbly teeth which need to come out soon to make space for the new ones which are already out, luckily our dentist is really good with kids
Going to look in the big Tesco in Truro as well for school shoes since all 3 dc need new ones and I don't really want to buy them from Clarks because ds and big dd just scuff shoes within few days

fuzzpig · 19/02/2016 11:49

:o

I need to book my smear test actually - I've not got round to it, just because I keep forgetting rather than being scared thankfully. I was put off by an awful one, my first at my 6wk check with a really insensitive GP after my eldest was born (I was 20). I hated all the examinations in pregnancy, I had a sweep with DS as he was late, I cried Blush! But my second smear - my first 'proper' one as I was old enough - was ok with the sedative, the nurse was amazingly kind about it. I don't think I'll even bother with the medication this time seeing as I now have to pay for prescriptions Blush :o and will see how it goes without.

Anyway, enough TMI sorry. I have barely moved today, just been reading and MNing as I'm very dizzy. DS was sick this morning, he's absolutely fine now so don't know what that was about. He's virtually never sick, unlike DD. They're watching Hotel Transylvania again as DD bought it yesterday (the author insisted on giving them each a fiver again for being so good and patient at her house while we were finishing up the book - so sweet!). I spent £3 of my 'pocket money' yesterday too, found some old sheet music on ebay for a piece I like - seemed a cheap way of cheering myself up.

We went to Milton Keynes for a few days a couple of years ago, as we wanted to visit Bletchley Park. When we told the DCs about the trip, DD (must've been 6ish) thought it was called Milk and Peas. Since then we always give new names to places we visit - Chichester = Chip Tester, Birmingham = Burning Ham and Southampton = South Hamsters :)

colliepirate · 19/02/2016 12:00

lovetoknit also try Sainsbury's in Truro because there's a TU sale 25% off and they have a decent clothes section. Bigger than Tescos. :)

Pointlessfan · 19/02/2016 12:17

I live in Burning Ham fuzz, I might have to start calling it that!

fuzzpig · 19/02/2016 12:47

:o we haven't been there yet. The plan was to go in June but might postpone til next year. May have to quiz you on fun/educational things to do there :)

Girlfriend36 · 19/02/2016 13:24

Hi all, Fuzz I hate the dentist as well but yes chipped/broken teeth need to be checked! We have an appointment in a few weeks which I am not looking forward to. Also hate smears, turned up to my last one and the nurse was a previous colleague Blush was slightly awkward!

Dds friend has gone home, they had a nice time and get on well. I am now on the sofa nursing a headache and dd is knackered due to late night/ early morning combo. Will be a quiet afternoon I think!!

Spends
£2 parking
£1.90 tea
£5.30 lunch in Greggs.

Took back some trousers that dd decided she didn't like, got a replacement pair that were £6 cheaper - frugal win!

Going to do online Morrisons shop in a mo....

fuzzpig · 19/02/2016 13:41

FFS people, you were all supposed to tell me that it'd be fine :o :o But no, point taken really. Isn't it funny how just reading all your kind words is actually making me feel brave enough to tackle this? And everything else too. So much shit has happened already this year, I really dread to think how much of a state I'd be in now if it wasn't for this thread. Much, much worse, that's for sure. Thanks

And YIKES Girl that is mega awkward! I had an ECG given by one of our customers once, not a regular one thankfully so I don't think she recognised me, but it did feel rather uncomfortable being topless and everything.

Not quite as weird as at my music school - I was still in school when I started teaching there on the weekends, and I was asked to teach someone who was in the same year as me and in my art class. That was uncomfortable, don't know quite what my teacher/boss was thinking but I didn't have the guts to say so!

fuzzpig · 19/02/2016 13:42

(that probably sounded quite conceited in a 'ooh I was better than her' way but it isn't, actually that's the whole reason I felt uncomfortable)

Pointlessfan · 19/02/2016 13:57

Quiz away Fuzz, there's loads to do in and around Brum!

DontLetMeLetYouGo · 19/02/2016 14:40

Today we've spent the morning doing some maths (DS idea).. We've been for a walk on the beach with my friend and her dog (very cold and caught in rain but it was fun and refreshing). And he has ice skating later. Also need to pop to aldi and do a shop..

Spends should be 25.50 ice skating and hopefully about 30 for the food shop give or take a fiver.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/02/2016 14:59

Lilia I'd complain about the card. What's the use of a limit if they put you over it and then charge you?.

Fuzz I'd wait if it wasn't painful.

lilacclery · 19/02/2016 15:12

Will someone do my shopping list for me? Wink
at work now and will be doing shopping after dropping au pair to train station later, saves an extra trip to town tomorrow.

Usually we shop after swimming on Sat but this either involves buying lunch or being starving and making poor choices at Aldi, last Sat I did my shopping on fri eve and was home before lunch on Sat then and had the evening stretch out in front of us, it was lovely Smile Ideally I would do shop rather than top up shop on Thurs night as the town I work in that night has a Lidl and Aldi opposite each other.

Have rung the butcher to order meat pack 4 chicken fillets, 4 pork chops, 2lbs beef mince, 2lbs stewing beef, 4 chicken marylands, a whole chicken and a roast of beef.

Meal Plan
lasagne & bolognese from the mince
beef bourbingon from the stewing beef, and baked chicken with bacon bits in a courgette and parmesan cream sauce(recipe from lidl email today) using the chicken fillets. Roast stuffed chicken so just two more dinners to plan. Salmon & spinach fish cakes from aldi with stirfried veg and egg fried rice and one more. Chicken Maryland, steam veg, sweet potato fries.

lilacclery · 19/02/2016 15:14

fluffy it's worth an email do you think?

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 19/02/2016 15:31

Toys and clothes offers in sainsbury means £60 poorer although present stash is well stocked. Got ds2 the fisher price stages scooter for £11, rrp is £40 wishes I had brought all 4 and sold 3 at £20-25 each and made a profit :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/02/2016 15:40

Of course, email the CEO. Do you think they want the regulator to know about this?.

Waiting to bid on an eBay item. Soooo stressed.

WreckTangled · 19/02/2016 16:07

£51.24 in lidl. Haven't had breakfast or lunch yet Hmm will catch up in a bit

lilacclery · 19/02/2016 16:14

I filled out the complaints form and emailed ceo, just made up his address based on his name and it hasn't pinged back. I'd imagine I'll be referred to the terms and conditions bla bla bla but cost nothing anyhow.

Fingers crossed for a win on ebay item

WreckTangled · 19/02/2016 16:31

Allguns I would take control but the loan will need to be joint as dh is the one that earns the money Grin the doors are working today, well three of them but I nearly cried after going shopping leaning into the back trying to strap ds in (it's his door that won't open) I've had to forward face him and the boot still won't open so had to fit all the bags around their feet Angry

Cheese I'm on the app so type as I go along. I type, then close the box down, read some more, type again and repeat Grin

Lilac I didn't think dd would be swimming so soon I have to say. Yes I had to call roadside assistant as it wouldn't start!

Knitting I love the labradoodle!!

Fuzz I hate the dentist too I have awful teeth because I have no enamel on the back ones due to auto immune stuff. I have my smear next week but that doesn't worry me.

CremeEggThief · 19/02/2016 17:01

I love the labradoodle, Knitting.

Fuzz, have you spoken to a dentist yet? As far as I know, NHS dentists have 3 payment bands . The first one is about £18, the second somewhere between £40 and £50 and the highest £180-200. I have a NHS exemption card, which anyone who gets child tax credits and has an income of under £16100 (mine is far under than the limit) is entitled to, so my treatment and prescriptions are free.

Spends today: £17.96 on a top-up shop in the Co-op, to keep us going until our Sainsburys order comes on Tuesday; £14.90 lunch in a lovely café for us both; and £2.80 bus fares home. Total: £35.66.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/02/2016 17:15

Spends

£30 petrol
£43 food but some of that is ok for next weeks dinners if I freeze it.

Won the ebay auction. Will pay for it tomorrow when I get my next nectar voucher in the morning.

GFK internet monitoring paid me £5 amazon voucher.

Tried to use supersavvyme vouchers in asda, it was only to be used in asda. One wouldnt work and then they tried to say £4 minus £3 was 2.47 so I asked for a refund and I've emailed asdas ceo with screen shots of the offer and my till receipt. Now wonder they are suffering. Why publish vouchers you cant redeem?.
