I'm sorry to hear about your job laska. I work in local government and things are so hard at the moment. I lot of stuff is being cut now that people are really going to notice and a lot of people are losing jobs. I'm going to resist the urge to rant about the Tory cuts here, or I will never stop Angry

Went to aldi and waitrose today so should have most of the shopping done for the week. Hoping for a couple of nsd now.

Girlfriend36 · 11/01/2016 21:01

This thread moves ridiculously fast!

Hey Collie missed you! Smile

Laska I am well up for a revolution - I really seriously hate the Tories Angry was talking to a friend earlier about how many homeless people there seem to be now in our little town, seriously worry about how they will cope in this cold weather Sad

Am also gutted about David Bowie, so shocked as he always looked pretty healthy and 69 is no age.

Its very cold here now so have put the little heater on, my bedroom is freezing so will need extra blankets and hot water bottles tonight!

Needa got a feeling tomos is results day - good luck Flowers

Have finally managed a NSD! Thats being back at work Grin

Allgunsblazing · 11/01/2016 21:01

laska, sorry about your job, but you seem upbeat and you'll get through it, I'm sure :)
£58 in Lidl.

babsmam · 11/01/2016 21:12

Sorry to hear that laska that's shite.
I don't believe in making kids finish food as long as they have eaten enough.
Back to read rest now

Ememem84 · 11/01/2016 21:53

Sorry to hear about your job laksa that's utterly rubbish.

need dh was fine this evening. Nothing's been mentioned. My alarm has been switched off tomorrow. And I'm staying in bed for a bit. Have announced this. And also that I need the car. So he has a choice. Either wait for me to get out of bed (probably around 830) and then risk being late for work so I can drive him in my way to the gym. Or walk. We'll see which one he chooses. my money's on waiting for me

Nsd today.

lilacclery · 11/01/2016 23:35

Fuzz can you not afford the heating or is it difficult to heat your house?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/01/2016 05:55

Hopefully nsd am off to work in a bit. Just tying to decide if my car will be frozen or not, too dark to see right now brrrrr.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/01/2016 06:05

Anyone's quidco account doing funny things? I had £86 tracked but now it's saying £0 and £0 confirmed £0 paid. I'm assuming it's a system error?

babsmam · 12/01/2016 06:33

Nsw planned after spending £135 on food yesterday, £61 milk bill, £12 cubs (subs and beret )

shitatusernames · 12/01/2016 06:50

Good morning everyone, can I join please?

We have a holiday to Benidorm in July, has to be paid for by April, think I've got a thousand left, have 5 passports to get for it, luckily I have got enough saved for the 3 kids, so just mine and dh's to save for now.

I want new flooring all downstairs so that's the next thing to save for, I'm terrible for random visits to Asda and overspending so I need to knock those on the head!

Today I want a low spend day, I do the lottery so that will be it for today.

Pointlessfan · 12/01/2016 07:00

Supermarket today, as usual list is longer than expected.
Have reorganized freezer and listed contents, planning to use it all up over next couple of weeks.

NK5BM3 · 12/01/2016 07:18

laska so sorry to hear about the job!! Is there anyway you can do an early retirement and rely on dh's salary even though he's also retiring? How about the pension?

NSD yesterday. Today pay out for school dinner and dd's trip to a zoo £12?!!!

Ememem84 · 12/01/2016 07:36

Dh is obviously waiting for me to get up this morning. His alarm didn't go off again this morning. And he's still asleep.

Should be nsd today. I was going to do a supermarket shop but think I've got enough in for another couple of days.

colliepirate · 12/01/2016 07:48

Waves at girlie Smile

Welcome shitatusernames

Well its absolutely freezing today. Real feel/wind chill is 1c for today! And the heating is set to 18c and has been on loads. my house is a new build and the windows & patio doors are quite draughty. Hmm grrr!

NSD today!

lilacclery · 12/01/2016 07:49

Em this is like the dishes all over again isn't it?Smile

Ememem84 · 12/01/2016 07:53

Yep. It is. He was given an option though. So he'll just have to deal with the consequences. If he's late for work it's not my fault. I'll happily drive him on my way to the gym. I'm just not making two trips.

Ememem84 · 12/01/2016 07:54

On the plus side. My new boots arrived yesterday. Oh they're lovely. Smile

I'm not even a bit sad having to sling old boots in the bin.

Ipsos · 12/01/2016 07:57

Laska UpWork is quite good if you just want quick money for typing or whatever. Have a go. Good luck. Sorry to hear about the heavy news.

Ipsos · 12/01/2016 08:00

Just founds you actual post Laska. There's been a huge debate about this recently here. The council nearly had to turn our street lights off at night to balance the books. Haven't actually done it yet.

Ememem84 · 12/01/2016 09:00

Dh walked to work. He also made me a cup of tea and brought it to me in bed. Apparently I looked comfy. Smile

Am meant to be at the gym. But as long as I go later it'll be fine. For now I'm having a wardrobe clear out.

5minutestobed · 12/01/2016 09:20

This thread moves so fast!
NSD yesterday, going to toddler group today (£1.50) and will try not to spend anything else.

Trying to decide if I should pay £25 for a stall at the nearly new sale. Should make more than that but it seems like a big outlay when we don't have much money spare.

Right off to try and read back and see what I missed!

Ipsos · 12/01/2016 09:31

It's properly cold here. I think I'm going to try having the heating on constant and just turning the thermostat down at night. The idea of having it actually off is not appealing at all right now. Ds just wanted to go back to bed this morning.

Pointlessfan · 12/01/2016 09:44

That's an improvement em.
£54 in Asda, weekly shop plus a birthday card. Pleased with that.

needastrongone · 12/01/2016 09:45

Seems quite a high cost 5minutes, it's usually a tenner round here!

ipsos, stick the heating on. Mine will definitely be on if needed, I consider that we've had such a mild time of it so far, it's totally acceptable! In fact, our bill last week showed we were only £30 in debit, from October when I switched, so that's a fair few 'winter' months in the bad, with not much outlay.

DC have their hair cut tonight, so that's £20, should be it for spends.

Ememem84 · 12/01/2016 09:59

Frugal leek soup made. Washing on.

Wardrobe opened. I might not make it out alive....
