Welcome UrsulaTodd and MrsSimonNeil

Only spends yesterday were €15.80 in Butchers, this is usually €20+ but we've built up a bit of a stock again in the freezer. I'm going to aim to not buy any meat for next two weeks and stretch out what we have.

Rafa hearing these positive stories about ynab makes me want to start using it properly. I get paid weekly, should I start now with this weeks paycheque or wait until Jan 1st?

That is a bling advent calendar. Will she also get a Christmas present too?

My eldest is 5 and a half, she hasn't shown interest in Advent Calendars so I'm going to hold off until next year. My dm did buy a Christmas decoration with chalkboard counting off days until Santa last January so I'll put that on display this evening. She wrote her Santa letter last night.

ipsos · 01/12/2015 10:32

Well done Rafa. Smile

Welcome MrsSimon

Some people have just been and "screeded" my kitchen floor, which involves pouring black goo all over it to make it flat for the vinyl which arrives tomorrow. The plasterers are just finishing up. Nice to have things progressing so well. Smile

fuzzpig · 01/12/2015 12:24

Hi to the newbies :)

Simon I home ed my DCs too - they are 8 and 6. Only been doing so since Feb, but enjoying it so far (mostly :o)

Oh dear, I am thoroughly caught up in The Twitch. Sodding Amazon. Blush

Ememem84 · 01/12/2015 13:31

£4.35 in sewing shop on stuffing and a zip.

AdoraBell · 01/12/2015 13:47

Boots have Nexium on offer, £5.24 for 7 tablets, for anyone else who is interested.

ipsos · 01/12/2015 13:47

Still no word on when my replacement dishwasher is due to arrive. I wrote back to the CEO's nice PA and asked if she could help move it along a bit and she is going to try. Smile

ipsos · 01/12/2015 14:00

Adora I thought Nexium was a computer tablet for a minute there. LOL!

My nice plasterers are gone now and the kitchen floor people have gone and all is quiet. Carpenter next, and he's due on Thursday.

AdoraBell · 01/12/2015 14:09

Now that would be a bargain Ipsos Grin

Pointlessfan · 01/12/2015 14:15

I've spent the whole of DDs nap cleaning my kitchen. Have found space in a cupboard for the Xmas cake and pudding which have been in the way since I made them several weeks ago. It looks amazing! Feeling inspired to clear out all the cupboards now. Might do one a day, it'll keep me away from Amazon!

lilacclery · 01/12/2015 14:30

Pointless I need to do this too.

Cleared a little island unit of paperwork into a box last week, that's just moving the problem. Normally just one appliance sits on the countertop along with the toaster and kettle, this morning when I left for work - the george foreman, halo and slow cooker were all competing for spaceBlush

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2015 14:35

Yes lila she will get lots of Christmas presents Envy

Nsd. Just catching up properly

lilacclery · 01/12/2015 14:37

Ye've rubbed off me girls! Grin
Ordered 3 dresses using black friday sale and a €10 discount code and 2 of them are going back. Incidentally it's the cheapest one I'm keeping, it's nicest and good quality and other ones were too bigGrinGrinGrin It will cost €4 postage to return them, it's unclear whether this is per item or not. Either way it will mean spending a quarter of what I initially spent.

lilacclery · 01/12/2015 14:39

Not fair spotty I dropped very strong hints to dh about a concert that's coming up in February near us. Tickets are only €20 and it's someone I once saw at an intimate gig in Edinburgh years ago. I think he picked up on them because he asked me who did I say was playing there againSmileSmile

Today will be a NSD

ipsos · 01/12/2015 14:52

Well done need! Nice job on the internet setup. Smile

Good idea to have a tidy out Pointless. I find food cupboards can be the worst for accumulating weird stuff.

I have very little to report on the frugal living since I just handed over a big cheque to the plasterers, but the hall looks nice. Smile

Spending a fiver on a couple of those hanging storage things to go in our wardrobe. Been using one of our tall Trofast units for spare bedding, underwear etc but we really need to go back to using it for toys/home ed stuff.

Colliejollychristmas · 01/12/2015 14:55

Loves it Ipsos

Lilac good work on the dresses! I've also become really good at returning stuff that doesn't fit or looks / feels shite.

I'm having hot flushes! First time ever

lilacclery · 01/12/2015 15:07

What age are you Collie?
I've just had blood tests done for possible early menopause, I'm 32.
Doctor asked about hot flushes and I said no but I'm thinking maybe I have had them alright. Just I dismissed why I was so flush a few times after lunch

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2015 15:15

I hope he gets you the tickets lila! Dh is useless with presents. I know it sounds ungrateful but he just seems unable to think of good ideas or have the money for all the sparkly things and holidays I need Grin

Looks good ipsos!

Ds is asleep on the sofa with a high temp, I should be at the bus stop waiting for dd but I've asked one of the other mums to walk her back I can see them all from my window anyway.

lilacclery · 01/12/2015 15:28

I was up with ds for 3.5 hours last night trying to bring down his temperature. Between trips to toilet, getting him something to drink, finding the dummy, giving him medicine it was a right busy few hours.

Spotty He has bought me one of these Lantern I know this because I picked it out & paid for it out of joint account and he's meant to repay the money in!

lilacclery · 01/12/2015 15:29

He wanted to buy this one It's so not Not my style!

ipsos · 01/12/2015 15:34

LOL! Lilac. Presents are so subjective aren't they?

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2015 15:37

Grin can't say it would be my style either! Love the one you've chosen though!

I haven't given ds any medicine as he seems happy enough sleeping it off.

AdoraBell · 01/12/2015 15:50

Wall looks very good ipsos

Fingers crossed on those tickets Collie

lilac hope DS is okay now.

£5.24 on Nexium
£20 in The Works, partly DD2's present and partly presents she is buying for friends.
£28 on dog food and chocolate buttons for the pooches.

Ran out of time to get the other bits but my shopping arrived and I appear to have 3 week's worth of bananas Blush so tomorrow I will buy ice-cream for banana splits.

ipsos · 01/12/2015 16:21

I just got a phone call back and it seems that my dishwasher should arrive by next Monday. Three and half weeks is a long time to hand wash dishes in a building site. Smile Turns out that emailing the ceo achieved nothing but to bypass the 20 minutes on hold on the phone.

Ursulatodd · 01/12/2015 16:41

Angry battery fail meant I just lost a lovely long post!

First day on here and first frugal fail - I forgot my lunch!!! However it was not a diet fail as I bought some chicken and salad in Aldi rather than a Gregg's pasty Grin £3.85.
