My kitchen bin is broken Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/12/2015 16:57

£1.34 milk
£2.66 posting a letter recorded.

£1.86 paid in from quidco.

We found out you cant buy whisky on nectar card points (because of the legislation on alcohol promotions) so dh is going to buy petrol on my nectar card and then spend what we saved on fil's present.

ipsos Those stairs would look lovely stripped back and painted with floor paint. Noisy though.

spotty Envy Has this generous dh got a brother? Wink.

Welcome newbies.

allwornout0 · 01/12/2015 17:14

I want all my walls re plastered now ipsos.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2015 17:30

Unfortunately not believe me I looked

Colliejollychristmas · 01/12/2015 17:46

Lilac I'm 29! Should I go to the doctor with the hot flushes or am I being silly? It's ruined my day Blush I've never had hot flushes before.

I need to do some urgent Christmas shopping tomorrow. I'll use my magic beans vouchers from Next and M&S. I'm finding that people are really tricky to buy for these days. Xmas Blush or maybe I'm trying too hard.

I'm useless haha!

Girlfriend36 · 01/12/2015 17:50

Hello all, we just had a bit of excitement the whole street had a power cut! No idea why but me and all the neighbours were out with our torches Grin only lasted about 5 mins and then came back on.

Had a LSD £1.60 on 2 bottles of water, dd has managed to break another water bottle, think its the 4th since September! So she can make do with an Evian water bottle until I get her another one.

Just had a nice dinner of chicken, chips and veg with gravy Grin lovely jubbly.

I might have twitched and spent £20 a bit more on Amazon last night

babsmam · 01/12/2015 17:51

What about adding. . .... Into the advent of December?

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2015 18:05

Collie are you coming down with something?

Two years ago at Christmas we had a power cut for over 24 hours. And when I was about 18 we had one for a week and they had to get us a special generator.

Ememem84 · 01/12/2015 18:09

I moaned a while ago because I really really want sky back.

And today found a deal for 44.50. (Less vat because I don't pay that here) for 6 months plus a free to or £100. Dh said no.

So has bought now tv instead. I don't want that.

needastrongone · 01/12/2015 18:41

Seems a fine title to me babs.

Em I like my Sky subscription, but will be shopping around in December, when the deal runs out.

Good news on the dishwasher ipsos, washing up is no fun.

Was this the new bin spotty, or am I confusing matters?

Chicken and roasted veg tray bake with pesto and chermoula in the oven.

Highly excited about my broadband. I know this is sad, but we have live with 2mbps download speed for ever, now it's nearly 40mbps. I downloaded some Sky movies in HD earlier for a test and they were just there, available!! Downloading even in SD would have taken hours yesterday.

Spends were Amazon and dog food today.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2015 18:52

No it wasn't me who got a new bin

ipsos · 01/12/2015 18:52

Great news on the internet upgrade need. That must help your dh too. :-)

Colliejollychristmas · 01/12/2015 19:03

I think it was Pointless who got the new bin. Because it was a Curver bin and I remember these ridiculous things. Wink

I'm scoffing pistachios. I'm SO hungry! I hope I'm not coming down with anything. I felt better this week than I have for months.

Festive thread title wise. How's about.... "O Come All Ye Frugaleers and natter through December" or something Xmas Blush

babsmam · 01/12/2015 20:02

Right just need to figure out how to report it and get it changed

OP posts:
lilacclery · 01/12/2015 20:18

collie if it's a once off thing I wouldn't worry about it.
I fully expect my blood test to come back normal but it's a possibility I guess for me 2 years no proper period & doctor questioned if I'd had traumatic births & they would've been as far as bleeding goes.

em that sucks about tv
need internet sounds brilliant
I backed into something this evening & did about €200 worth of damage I know it's this much because I did exact same thing a little over a year agoBlush there are polish guys in next village to where I work, will price it there too.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 01/12/2015 20:21

It was nearly a nsd, but after the ynab success yesterday, I caved and bought it this morning. I think it's probably worth it just for the decrease in anxiety over money.

lilac, I'm not sure about the answer to your ynab question. There were several points where I thought the run up to Christmas wasn't the best time to start it because of various extra expenses. I have managed to work through that though just not necessarily by using it properly. Starting from January I'm going to try using it the way it was designed, and put a bit aside each month for birthday money, days out, clothes, Christmas etc. I would recommend starting on a payday though and if you are motivated to do it but might not be by 1st jan then start now.

This thread just made me laugh Em. I'd forgotten what simple things I take for granted can totally spin out mainlanders.

Collie, loving your list as ever. The dc had cloth advent calendars from their aunt & uncle (who live 300 miles away) when they were toddlers. Each year they provide 24 little gifts for us to fill each calendar with (sweets, chocolate, balloons etc). Even now at 14 & 11 they love it. All I seem to have on my fb news feed is pictures of elves on their shelves, something unheard of here when mine were little, old fogey alert!!

Welcome all new folkSmile.

£7 travel fares and £4.50 in Costa in cash. £137.29 on my credit card, to finish my Christmas shopping. That's it.

I had an interview today for a day and a half's cover work in a school and I got it, so delighted to finally have something in the pipeline. It may lead to more hours after Easter.

Girlfriend36 · 01/12/2015 21:11

Welcome newbies and love the new name Xmas Smile

Have just rather nervously put my meter readings in for electric and gas and am delighted that I am still in credit and they have reduced my monthly payments by another £10! I think you lot must be rubbing off on me as this is the least amount I have ever paid since moving in here 6 years ago Xmas Shock
