So, £15 on a taxi and £9 in Body Shop on a couple of Christmas bits for DDs.

Hope all unwell frugaliers are on the mend soon. Hope you gave a great holiday north

BIL has a husky but he never has time to walk it, so it gets left to his very petite wifeHmm Teddy Bear is an acceptable specimen of his species Grin

needastrongone · 22/10/2015 18:15

north, you know what? collie might be onto something with your DD. My own DD was extremely volatile and emotional at this stage, and actually into Y7, then she started her periods, and things settled down. At 14, she still an emotional sort, but in a 'normal' way iyswim? Much more mature and able to understand her own feelings. I am sorry you are feeling down too, and that your DH is stressed. Things all come at once sometimes don't they?

fuzz Sorry you have missed out on the project. Your long term health is more important, and you will have many opportunities to shine in years to come Smile

Hope your DD feels better too girlie

Mad sort of a day today, I have a glass of wine in hand already!

Worked all day. DH has landed an order bigger than any order we have ever had, from a blue chip company, that have paid us in advance. Quoted at 9am, order came through at 9.30am!! Well, we've had this client for 5 months or so now, and they pay as soon as we email the invoice, have already spent with us massively and are a global entity. We deal with a lot of big companies, getting money out of them is like blood from a stone sometimes. I am dealing with their UK Finance Director and mildly in awe I must say, which I shouldn't be, but I am.

So, I've dealt with this all day, drove home, realised I left my house keys at work (never in 10 years have I done this), met DH half way to collect keys, collected DD from school, met the saddler as I was unhappy with the saddle we bought, took dogs out, came home, DS left his school shoes at the gym, so back over to town to collect them in rush hour.

Screamed hysterically at the kids for no apparent reason so feel better now Grin

DH phones, his new, expensive car from a premium brand maker has broken down!!!

Making soup for tea, dying for a takeout, brownie points for moi Smile

Badders123 · 22/10/2015 18:20

My fil had paid for my car to be fixed Smile
I can.now turn left safely!
Early night for me tonight...still feeling rubbish.

CremeEggThief · 22/10/2015 18:38

Shattered after being out of the house 6.40 a.m. til 6 p.m. I got a rare day of supply teaching. I was only in school for 7 of those hours, the rest was travelling /connections.£7.70 travel and 50p packet of crisps.
Too tired to make soup, so having potato waffles, veggie fingers and beans. No, no!

CremeEggThief · 22/10/2015 18:38

*Nom, nom, rather!

needastrongone · 22/10/2015 18:40

badders Sorry you feel crap too, but glad the car is fixed.

Ememem84 · 22/10/2015 18:54

creme yummy!!!

Today's spends £5 on sammies for myself and colleague. Giant stuffed with filling sandwiches. Yum.

Girlfriend36 · 22/10/2015 18:56

Fuzz Flowers hopefully being signed off will give you the chance you need to recover a bit.

North your October plans sound great, hopefully can do some cheap but fun things, maybe take tennis rackets and outdoor games for the kids - may get some good weather days hopefully! Do you find exercise helpful with your mood? I know a few people with depression who swear by running, I even gave it a go myself last week but am so unfit Blush it def does make you feel better though.

Needa Grin at screaming at the kids! Sometimes kids need to know you are on the edge I reckon Grin well done on the order.

Dd has been fine all afternoon, my headache has persisted but not so bad now. We have a carbon monoxide alarm but not sure if its working Confused will have a look at it just to be sure.

Cleaned out my fridge this morning, it looks lovely now!

Got some fantastic news this afternoon, the council are going to do the bathroom for us Grin am so happy. A few of you might remember I had a quote for the work that needs doing about 8 months ago and was quoted £800 Shock so had decided to just live with it as hopefully will move at some point. Anyway chap turned up this morning and said the whole bathroom will be ripped out and replaced and they will put an electric shower in never expected that, amazing! Don't know when they will do the work but hopefully not too long to wait Smile

Had another Subway for tea Blush with voucher for 2 subs, 2 drinks and 2 cookies was £6.99 so not terrible right plus not feeling well enough to cook!

Girlfriend36 · 22/10/2015 18:59

Would recommend anyone with Christmas presents left to buy to go and look at the Sainsburys toy sale, esp for younger kids there are lots of bargains to be had and its only on this week.

When do the clocks go back?

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/10/2015 19:00

That's kind of him Badders, I hope you feel better soon.

Need That's fantastic, Do they have an affiliate page they could put your company on?.

Badders123 · 22/10/2015 19:07

Like fuzz I have cfs and fibro.
Going through a rough patch atm and just had to give up a (very) pt job Sad so feeling a bit sorry for myself
It'll pass Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 22/10/2015 19:10

Sunday girlie. Great news on the bathroom!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/10/2015 19:10

girlie That's fab news. Dont put any water saving devices on the shower, eco heads are ok but a flow regulator will break it.

creme no wonder your tired after all that.

My landing is deffo warmer tonight.

CremeEggThief · 22/10/2015 19:15

I'm on the sofa now for the night. Managed to clear drainer, wash up, make and eat supper (Em, it was delicious!) and unpack my bag in the hour between getting home and now.

This is so naughty, but I am drooling over all the sugar, similar to Homer Simpson and doughnuts, they're showing on Channel 4 news, in light of the report released saying there should be a tax on itGrin.

Badders, take care and rest as much as you can.Brew

babsmam · 22/10/2015 20:09

Nsd.
Sorry people are feeling poorly. Well done on the job need and need dh. And the bathroom result.

Just had some work quoted for Windows. About £2k but much needed and saved for.

needastrongone · 22/10/2015 20:41

girlie I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet, never mind finished Smile Good news on the bathroom.

babs Good luck with the window.

creme Have a nice chill on the sofa.

fluffy Thanks, interesting point that might be worth investigating and I hadn't thought of, cheers.

badders I am sorry that you had to give up your job, that must have been hard. Even a small job can make a difference to your self esteem, poor you.

Screaming at the kids always helps ha! I apologised, they rolled their eyes and then we had a right old giggle over tea. They are used to me, I am used to them. My own childhood was very sterile. I hope my DC see that we are human and can have shite days and behave unreasonably sometimes.

I made two soups for tea, more brownie points Smile, carrot and orange with mint, and Italian Peasant.

Had to buy the crusty bread at £1.50.

Saddle refunded at £400.

Lend one of the lads at work a fiver and he's totally skint and we get paid tomorrow.

blueteapot · 22/10/2015 21:37

Chin up and a nice Wine to the frugaleers that need it!

Today was a bit pants £ wise. Sorted DSs halloween costume in asda as we happened to be passing and we are never normally near an asda... that, some oil for the car, 2 lots of dummies plus TWO SMALL BAGS of nothing special groceries came to £77. I nearly had kittens at the checkout lol. Returned the dummies as they weren't on the offer I thought they were but thats still £67 for bugger all. Even DH was astounded. I will never stray from lidl again!

Then I got a call saying I had to change exam venue, so £65 for an overnight hotel before also.

Wrote ground rent cheque £25

Lunch out - not sure as DH swiped it but somewhere in the £20 region I'd say.

It's been a bad day. I don't even have any wine to show for my £67 top up shop. And DH is having a lie down in the room I've stashed my secret chocolates in so I can only think about them.

blueteapot · 22/10/2015 21:44

Oh and I went on the boden website to have a look after someone on here mentioned it for workwear... they reckon if I'm a size 16 bottom in next I'm an 18 in boden. Damn those secret chocolates!

Moan over, back to happy blueteapot :)

toobreathless · 22/10/2015 22:02

No baby here, grrrr! (41 weeks today)

NSD yesterday

Today:
£5.60 post office, but half of that was transferred into my PayPal by a friend
£10 co OP top up shop
£14 local arts and design place, that bought us 5 adult nice coffees and 4 cakes which we shared between us & the two children. Pretty good deal compared to the likes of costa.

Menu planning has also gone very well this week. adults had moussaka and children homemade pizza today (adults had pizza last night) minimal Food waste and I am feeding 4-6 adults.

Hope you are feeling better badders and fuzz

SpottyTeacakes · 23/10/2015 05:54

Oh toobreathless you must be really fed up! Do some hand expressing and nipple tweaking.

Blue honestly don't get down about it I bet you'd still look lovely in a dress. I think one of our doctors is bigger than you and she always has knee length dresses on!

I'm working today so should be nsd. I owe £2 but don't have any change (for a lovely crocheted poppy one of the patients makes).

ipsos · 23/10/2015 07:48

Well done need. Great news about the big contract.

Blue I was also looking at the Boden website. I really like the clothes but the prices are something else, even in the sale.

blueteapot · 23/10/2015 08:26

Yep they are ipsos I dont think I'll be bodening :( Im not an 18 in any high st shops thay Ive tried so Im hoping boden is a smaller fit.... I think I'll go sale shopping in town after payday instead. Id like some good quality stuff that washes well... a favourite smart looking cottony stuff jumper bought a month or so ago from asda is all bobbly already :(

toobreathless get out a good long walk! :)

Collieputthekettleon · 23/10/2015 09:22

Just spent £3.75 on 4 x A4 Magic Paint Books for DS. I bought them with money his Grandma gave him.

DH has applied for freelance work. Bless him! I need to make Rocky Road Kill. Basically just Halloween Rocky Road Halloween Grin.

I feel like I could sleep for a week.

Collieputthekettleon · 23/10/2015 09:25

I bought some Gap stuff recently (when I won a 50% off voucher) and the quality is amazing. I bought a "long sleeve t shirt" that is more like a fine knit jumper. I love it so much. I wish I bought 2 and I wish I could afford to shop there more often. It's the right length too. I'd love to own a pair of Gap jeans

Ememem84 · 23/10/2015 09:32

today should hopefully be NSD. I am home studying so am not planning on shopping at all.

credit card balance now stands at £240. well within reach of paying off.

and DH has gone to the bank to sort the chunky overpayment of the mortgage.

I've had 2 boiled eggs and toast for breakfast (my faves)and am about to settle down with a pot of earl grey tea and my law books.

will check back in later.
