Hope it's okay to start the new thread since the other one is already full
£1 at Cornwall Ambulance shop for 3 books for dc after I dropped off my old slow cooker and some books and £1 at Prospect hospice for some wool and fabric
Just made cauliflower cheese with some bacon and cavolo nero for dh who had it for lunch and there is enough for his dinner too, the rest of us are having homemade burgers, buns and wedges

pointless It was me with the red Thai sweet potato soup recipe, glad you like it. So far, that's definitely one of my favourites of the soups I have started to make this autumn.

lila Hope you like the recipe too. I love cooking, during the season it gets harder to devote the time to it.

I have, in the past, put all the associated costs of moving onto the mortgage and we have also paid them ourselves (like this last time). I'm guessing it depends on how much equity in the house, as assessed by the mortgage provider. Most solicitors would accept legal costs being settled on completion, but there will be some costs such as searches that will need to be paid up front, so it's probably best I presume to have some kind of moving fund, if not all. Moving is a really costly business.

ipsos Where have you advertised for a cleaner? Local Facebook selling sites are an excellent source of information. If I am correct, there is you and DS and DH, no pets. Your house will not be that dirty, even if you might think it is, I promise Smile

NSD here.

Tonight soup here, I am going to try two. Roast French Onion Soup and Aubergine and Pepper soup with oregano.

needastrongone · 03/11/2015 15:51

Oh lila, I meant to say, I have tried the SC garlic chicken, it's in the recipe book MN published. It's good!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/11/2015 15:52

I'm doing chicken quesadillas for dinner. Haven't got anything to serve it with though...

CremeEggThief · 03/11/2015 16:28

NSD.

ipsos · 03/11/2015 16:33

Thanks need. You're quite right, our house is fairly civilized. I'd be very happy to get rid of three hours work a week though, if it only costs one hour of writing work from me to do it. :-)

Whatabout · 03/11/2015 16:43

I must join you all in soup making. I have a bag of carrots and one of parsnips in the fridge. If I want carrot and coriander do I need leaves or will the spice do do you think?

Dinner here is sausage and swede maple tray bake. With squash instead of swede and some lonely sweet potatoes thrown in. Husband asked if we could have gravy with it!! Im hoping it will be nice. This is my second evening cooking for toddler as well as us. Yesterday we had chicken risotto with some left over roast chicken. It was tasty and used a leek I had in the fridge and threw in frozen peas for some extra veg!

WhirlwindHugs · 03/11/2015 16:51

Picked up lots of tinned chopped toms in waitrose today (packs of 4 at 36p a can) and various bits of reduced meat, some to freeze for christmas.

Irritatingly, then went to the butcher to order a leg of lamb for the main meal and DD2 (2!) poked a whole in a pack of really expensive chicken so I had to buy it. (Thanks DD2...)

SpottyTeacakes · 03/11/2015 17:04

Powdered coriander will be fine Smile

Collieputthekettleon · 03/11/2015 17:08

Thanks for all the advice Re: Mortgage and fees etc. DH is going to call our mortgage advisor tomorrow to find out more so fingers crossed.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/11/2015 17:11

I'm sure our legal fees were only £300 or something. It wasn't very much or I'd remember exactly.

£2.22 on work stuff but no personal spends.

Ursulatodd · 03/11/2015 17:12

A really lovely soup is cauliflower and cheese - really cheap when Aldi have cauli in the Super 6.

Today I have dug out an old pair of 'new boots'! They are lovely, tan knee-high and work with skirts and trousers but I've hardly worn them as they have a heel. I'm going to persevere with them though as my favourite boots, which cost £30 to re-heel last year, have fallen apart again.

Girlfriend36 · 03/11/2015 17:54

Hi all, a work day today so NSD. Put my millage in for 2 months so that should be nice little bonus at the end of the month.

Need to have a look at my account and work out a budget also need to seriously start thinking about Christmas!

Ememem84 · 03/11/2015 18:01

Nsd. Mostly because I didn't go outside at lunchtime.

adora he is a chilli fiend. Just forgets that I'm not. I like spicy. But not blister my mouth spicy in his defence it had super flavour flavour though

babsmam · 03/11/2015 18:05

I have audited the Christmas pressie box and have more than I thought which is good. Now need a list.
No more spends today as well as list writing I spent a happy hour shredding. However my shredder is now burnt out. Ah well.

574ejones · 03/11/2015 18:47

£19.50 on Christmas food and wrapping paper on Sainsburys but got £16.40 back for prescriptions which I had paid for but shouldn't have.

Used up some leftovers in a chilli and managed to freeze one portion. Also made a chicken, bacon and leek pie with my own leeks, which has gone straight in the freezer.

Just discovered some barely worn clothes in DS2s wardrobe which I might eBay.

ipsos · 03/11/2015 18:57

Babs our shredder often recovers after a long rest to cool down. It gets worn out a lot and has to rest a lot in between batches.

AuditAngel · 03/11/2015 19:11

Yesterday I forgot that I bought DS a Nintendo 2DS that I saw a HDUK post about. Cost £25 in Clubcard vouchers, includes Mario cart game. Other console packages for the 2DS are about £95!

Today just under £10 in M&S food hall.

Pointlessfan · 03/11/2015 19:17

Thanks, need, your soups for tonight sound good too.
Have had a stressful afternoon at the hospital. It took 20mins to find a parking space, arrived just in time for my appointment and feeling very flustered tl find they were running 90 mins late. Luckily I'd taken a drink and a book! Have to have more tests and the consultant wants me to gain weight, I've always dreamed of a doctor telling me that! Just wondering what to eat first! By this time the car park cost added up to almost £5 which I wasn't thrilled about.

lilacclery · 03/11/2015 19:46

pointless definitely one of those slow cooker lava cakes I think Grin

collie this idea to move has really taken off! In Ireland very few people move except if they get married to someone from a different area or young people who find employment elsewhere.

Yesterday I had to cancel a hotel room booking in order to change it from a twin room to a double saved myself €13.49 by doing so, seriously frugal win as I was going to just leave the booking as it was.

Ordered a mystery box from babame.com today £30 but rrp value of goods will be £45+ this will either be for ds birthday or Christmas depending on what comes.

15 packages arrived from aliexpress today & I love everything that came for the childrenSmile going to factor in some small spends on this website every month because we'd such fun guessing what was in the packagesSmile

Bargain audit
Ursula what kind of cheese in your cauliflower soup?
I also made red Thai curry sweet potato soup at week was fabulous. Boxed up enough savoury mince for dh & kids for two days yesterday too

Where's pink?
Hi missa

Pointlessfan · 03/11/2015 20:02

Ooh good call lilac! I'm feeling a bit stressed about it all, joking aside, as I eat loads! I don't know what else I can fit in. I didn't used to be thin but breastfeeding caused me to suddenly lose loads of weight and it's never gone back on. I'm wondering if it might affect my fertility as well as my bones as we want to start TTC soon.
Sorry, that's completely off topic, I've just had a very confusing afternoon.

lilacclery · 03/11/2015 20:05

I think bf f*cked up my metabolism can't lose weight at all & I teach slimming classesAngry hopefully you can get to the bottom of it. Are you underweight?

Pointlessfan · 03/11/2015 20:13

I don't know to be honest. Saw consultant about my knee and he randomly said I'm too thin and will get osteoporosis. I am also vit D deficient so it's got me worried. I don't know what I weigh.

ipsos · 03/11/2015 20:57

Pointless I have similar weird stuff going on. I'm a stone lighter than I was before ds was born and shortly after he weaned I was 1.5 stone lighter. I'm eating like the clappers but can't put weight back on. I think my body is just knackered from years of working too hard. I'm hoping it will recover at some point. What's TTC?

Pointlessfan · 03/11/2015 21:04

Trying to conceive! It's strange what these babies do to our bodies isn't it?
Just watching HFW from last night, I'm horrified.

ipsos · 03/11/2015 21:25

Ah! Yes we meant to do that too. I think I shot my bolt on ds1 though.
