Is it a seam? Could you sew it?

We had a ridiculously spendy weekend but it was lovely to get away with DH :) somewhere in the £300 region argh

Payday tomorrow but Im not getting any at this point if mat leave and DH didnt leave in his overtime sheet in time so this should be interesting!

TheOnlyPink · 27/09/2015 10:10

spotty In all honesty, I would just leave it. The cost of getting back there would probably be equal to the cost of the trousers. Unless you have other reasons to make it worthwhile?

need love the look of your meal plan!

girl sounds like a lovely autumnal day planned! Enjoy!

Need to do a meal plan for the week, keep getting caught out with lunches, I end up having something rubbishy and starving again at 3, and eating more rubbish. Been doing it since the kids went back to school and I feel.shite from it.

Have to go back to town, ds beavers jumper is too big. Hoping to just drop dh at the shop and drive around to come back to collect him, really don't want to spend more on parking after yesterday's €11! Will pop into my mums while I'm in the area! Weather is gorgeous so might feed the ducks too!

AuditAngel · 27/09/2015 10:20

Morning all. Yesterday £24 in Tesco for quick top up, some things needed for theatre packed lunches, plus a couple if treats for DD2 who was staying home with me. Need to do my main shop, I gave an £18 off £60 first online Sainsbury's shop, so will need to use my second (or 3rd) email address. For £18 it's worth the hassle of not having things saved in.

Yesterday I got a last minute (company price) theatre ticket to see Jesus Christ Superstar that DS and DD1 were appearing in. £11.75 and no booking fee! They had run out of programmes (I only wanted one as when the kids did the show last time they put DD2's name in the programme instead of DD1's!) but Zi spent £8 on a glass of wine (next time I'll know to pay £5 in advance when I book the ticket) and £2 for a Diet Coke. £4 parking.

Going to a kids party this afternoon but already have the present. Not sure what us for dinner today. Was going to make cottage pie yesterday and didn't in the end as went to the theatre. DD1 hates it, so may let her have a jacket instead.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 10:21

I've posted on their Facebook. It's not on the seam not sure how it happened!

Hi MissA!

Thank you Need I do feel ok today, just going to have a chilled day with a bit of housework hopefully. No plans to go anywhere or spend any money... (well I might order the stocking fillers from Tesco - last year I left all those things til really late and ended up paying for faster delivery etc)

Does anyone know if there's a way of getting memos off an apple device? My ipod won't even charge anymore, and annoyingly I didn't sync it with our ipad (which has also sort of given up the ghost in that the screen went weird, but seeing as it's a first gen I don't think it's had a bad run!). I was writing all our Xmas spends on there with prices - trying to really keep an eye on totals with a view to setting an actual budget next year - and it's annoying me that I can't get the prices off there to put on my spreadsheet!

fuzzpig · 27/09/2015 10:34

Spotty if you have the receipt presumably you could leave it a while. If they still have the tag on at least it'd be clear they haven't been worn.

Collieputthekettleon · 27/09/2015 10:40

spotty I once bought a skirt from Oasis whilst away for the weekend in London. When I got home I realised it had a hole and I emailed them a photo. They asked me to post it back with the receipt and I had a refund (Inc postage) a week or so after. Our nearest Oasis was hundreds of miles away (at the time!)

I had taken the tag off but sent it back with the skirt.

So you should be ok Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 10:48

Yeah it doesn't have the tag on and I doubt I'll be going there in the next month.

Ememem84 · 27/09/2015 11:01

£6 spends today. We're going to explore an old German underground bunker £3 each entry cost and guided tour. Exciting! I forget how much ww2 history we have here sometimes.

Other than that, we're off to the dump to get rid of old TV. And all our recycling.

candybar · 27/09/2015 11:10

Another week has gone by and I havent managed to keep myself involved with this thread, it always helps me to stay on track when I dip in and out of here, i don't post too much but I do find that reading through always helps me reign my spending in somewhat.

Payday was Friday for both me and dh, got a huge Tesco shop delivered £118, filled up with petrol £40 and paid for 4 weeks of piano lessons for dd £30, also spend £10 at various Mcmillan coffee mornings/afternoons.

Yesterday we went shopping in town, £7 for eyebrow & lip threading, £20 in Asda on underwear for dd2 and some fruit, £13 on 3 birthday presents in Home Bargains, pls £7 on random stuff in there. £16 in primark for tights for dd's, pj bottoms for me and hairbands. I also spent about £22 at the market yesterday morning, so all in all a fairly spend day.

Won't be spending anything today, ds1 is at football, dd2 at a party just me an ddd1 at home until this afternoon, roast for dinner, off to church at 3pm, then out for a walk with the dogs later this evening.

candybar · 27/09/2015 11:14

Also our Washing Machine is broken! Last night it was making the most horrific noise and I was worried it was going to explode or set on fire. Turns out it's the bearings which is a costly job to sort out, it's about four years old but is used at least three times every day, I've found a new one in Currys for £189 with free next day delivery so I'm hoping to replace with that one asap.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 11:19

Three times a day?! Shock

candybar · 27/09/2015 11:21

At least spotty

wheelycote · 27/09/2015 11:26

Hi everyone! Hope your all well!

End of August and September has been an interesting month, a couple of big life adjustments which think I've adjusted to now. All is good :)
jumping back on the frugaleer wagon!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 11:32

Wow ours only does that in a week Blush

babsmam · 27/09/2015 11:57

Spendy day getting party bits.

Need to do food list for DS and dd party to go to lidl, aldi, Iceland and sainsbury tomorrow.

Have some clothes to return to sainsburys. But need to buy more.
Need last few birthday presents but have monthly savings for that and the rest rolls to Christmas

babsmam · 27/09/2015 11:59

I would ring h&m and explain. Don't make a special trip spotty.
Sounds like the washer owes you nothing candy. Dont forget cashback sites too

Lovetoknit · 27/09/2015 13:03

Still trying to catch up :-)
Welcome back missA
£36 at Lidl yesterday, was really good and stuck with the list but had to add paper towels so I could use the voucher; £2.50 for set of wool needles for dd to do her cross stitch after she broke 2 plastic ones which came with the kit.
Frugal win at the Post office - I had to get copy of my driving licences verified for DBS cheque for my employer and the kind lady did it for free instead of charging me £8.50 since it was only one pageGrin
3 loads of laundry done yesterday and all line dried, another 2 today - my poor washing machine is doing overtime when it's sunny since I don't want to use tumble dryer
Roast dinner tonight plus the usual weekend baking, on the plus side it does warm up the house together with the fire in the living room
Luckily we have chopped lot of firewood yesterday as a part of list of jobs dh had to do so he could go diving today Grin
All homework done yupee - am I the only one feeling it's like going to back to school for parents too? (phonics, spelling, RE, English and couldn't do math since ds login details don't work)

Collieputthekettleon · 27/09/2015 13:14

Just went to The Range and it was quite expensive. A few bits in there I noticed was cheaper on the John Lewis website and a few toys were cheaper in Argos! Confused oh well. At least I was aware.

needastrongone · 27/09/2015 13:17

girlie - DD claims her vision is no longer blurred. I have no way of checking but she does want to ride! She knows I will only let her hack anyway for a week, no jumping or games.

My washing machine is on three times a day too! Teenagers, dogs, pony, 4 bathrooms etc.

The hampers look amazing MissA, I've signed up on the website. Usually would order immediately but I think I need to see the catalogue actually. That's definitely 3 pressies done though, thanks!

Currently sat in M&S cafe with a free coffee from a voucher waiting for DS's phone to be repaired, rather than shopping. The repair is guaranteed but parking was £4

Did I mention that parking at the hospital was £8 on Friday? I know we were there a while but even so...

needastrongone · 27/09/2015 13:18

em the German bunker sounds interesting!

babsmam · 27/09/2015 13:27

Welcome back miss a

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/09/2015 13:54

Thanks for all the welcomes! Grin
Three loads of laundry done and on the line, perfect day for it. Now to teaching prep for tomorrow and revising for my QTS numeracy test (it's on 10th October and I am shockingly bad at maths!) as I decided to do an on-the-job PGCE this year. My school is paying for the degree but it is SO much extra work.

Ememem84 · 27/09/2015 14:11

Back from our adventure. It was really interesting. It's been restored back to how it would have been during the war. Germans took over the island. So there's loads of "stuff" here. It's completely German focussed as well which is unusual - as in most history here talks about the islanders who were here not the "nasty" Germans.

Persuaded dh that we can have lunch at home instead of chippys on the beach. really wanted chippys on the beach

Ursulatodd · 27/09/2015 14:26

I think I went to the hospital bunker a few years back em (you're Jersey right?) really interesting if a bit creepy (lots of mannequins in situ!)

missa good luck with your PGCE year...so much hard work doing it on the job but you'll hit the ground running when it's done.

need the cost of the helmet sounds like money well spent!

I've had such a frugal win today...I wanted to visit a spa type pool this weekend for swim/sauna/pool. Found one at a local hotel and when we turned up they were doing a free taster weekend so my 3hours of relaxation this morning was no cost!!

I'm seeing tomorrow as the start of a new month for shopping. 5 weeks. It may sound crazy but I'm going to try to do this week on £10 Shock! Not as bad as it sounds...we have lots in already and will have a week of running down the cupboards and freezer. I will let you know how I get on!
