Tesco had some prosecco for £6.99

Binglet · 26/09/2015 18:31

Ooh thanks spotty. I'm not a massive fan but I think it will be the drink of choice for the weekend as it's the hens favourite. I'll be happy with my cheapy Aldi Schnapps.

Ememem84 · 26/09/2015 18:56

fuzz hot doughnuts.

I'm getting doughnuts next Monday for work. It's my birthday then so will take a trip to my fave baker and order one each for the office. They'll be delivered. Hot fresh doughnuts. Yummmmmm

Collieputthekettleon · 26/09/2015 19:36

It's been the perfect day here. My only spend was a gift which was budgeted for.

Something I'm selling on eBay is currently on £10 more than I expected it to go for. Confused nervous now! I've been really honest in the description!! And similar completed listings went for much less. The only difference is the size. Do clothes in size 12 and 14 sell for more?

574ejones · 26/09/2015 19:57

I am in such a quandary- am shortly visiting family overseas and have just found out that the Lego Tower Bridge would cost me just under £150 if I ordered it to be delivered there rather than buy it here where it is about £60 more. DS2 would be absolutely thrilled with it as a combined birthday/Xmas pressie. But am I just going for it because I think it is a bargain? It would be a pain to bring back but we won't be anywhere near our luggage allowance.

£7 wine, soft drinks and nibbles.

Spendy, spendy, spendy.
£100 to the handy man, for several jobs.
£1.15 milk and scampi fries.
£6.10 bus fares for DS and his two friends.
£60 including tip for the 3 of them in "Pizza Express" Shock.
£15.68 for my dinner out in a Lebanese restaurant, as I decided coming home to a frozen pizza after collecting the lads from "Pizza Express" was just a tad too frugal. It was absolutely delicious.
£42.something on online Sainsburys order, coming tomorrow, although that won't come out for a few days.
Total: far too much, but all worth it!

Collieputthekettleon · 26/09/2015 20:09

Just made £23.50 on eBay Shock over the moon!

TheOnlyPink · 26/09/2015 20:11

lilac glad it's not just me! What did you get?

fuzz hope you are feeling ok.

Spent loads today, and feel really guilty about it, not sure why, hardly any of it was unbudgeted!
40 for ds beavers jumper and progress book and memory bag
38 in primary for pyjamas, a jumper for myself, gloves, socks, tracksuit bottoms for ds beavers.
20 in boots for deodorant, primer and powder (unbudgeted, but needed.)
38 for lunch (budgeted, but feel guilty about it)
11 for parking, we'd gone into the next hour and it was a huge jump Angry
15 on headphones for ds (but he paid 10)

Gosh it's even worse when I see it like that! Blush

Orangeisthenewbanana · 26/09/2015 20:43

Hi ladies. Back from a lovely week away. Managed to be fairly good, but I wasn't trying too hard as this was our last holiday before DC2 arrives. Can highly recommend north Norfolk. Great beaches and lots to do.

need really hope your daughter is feeling better today. How worrying for you Sad

DH and I are treating ourselves to a takeaway tonight to round off our holiday week. I also had a bit of a big spend on DH's Christmas pressie, £130 Blush Though had a £25 Amazon gift card so actually "only" £105 and will get 2% cashback from Kidstart too. But that is him sorted now pretty much. Really got to get on with some Christmas shopping now, you ladies are putting me to shame, you're so organised! What sort of budgets do you have per adult/own child/nieces/nephews?

Back to chewing my fingernails off watching the rugby! Confused

Passthecake30 · 26/09/2015 21:41

£21 kids swimming, £70ish on a range of food shops, included £7 on 2 tubs of chocs in Morrisons, a big jar of coffee and £10 on 100 dw tablets...not much actual food!

Dried washing on the line for the last few days, and still not had the heating on. Happy days.

need hope your dd is ok

fuzzpig · 26/09/2015 22:17

Thank you Pink :)

Quite enjoyed the rugby. But then, in this house we support Wales :o (well DH does. I don't give a monkeys really Blush)

Emem hope you have a great birthday! You could always stick a candle in the doughnut? :o

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/09/2015 08:50

Greetings to all Smile I have had a manic few weeks at work and have slipped off all my threads.
Need to get bargaining for christmas, only 2 paydays left now until then and not one present bought!
We have decided on these really nice Italian hampers for my parents, grandma, and a few others, they're from a farm in Tuscany and very reasonably priced and well-presented.
I have also managed to get SIL to agree to kids only gifts, just have to ask my sis now. I might try it on my DM next year, but she always buys really early so it'll be too late for this year.
I bought some ready to eat prawns from M and S and froze them, just noticed it says on the packet "not suitable for freezing" - do I have to chuck them or will they be ok if heat them very thoroughly... Confused it's never a good time to give yourself D & V is it?

Collieputthekettleon · 27/09/2015 08:55

need hope your DD is beginning to feel better. Flowers

Today is a LSD. We need to buy a cheap magnetic drawing board thing and some pull back & go cars. Hopefully The Range will sell them. Also need some tissue paper.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 09:05

Hello MissA!

Should be nsd here I'm making a roast and hoping dh does some tiling. Looking like another lovely day

CremeEggThief · 27/09/2015 09:24

Welcome back MissASmile.

needastrongone · 27/09/2015 09:35

Ah MissA, I was wondering where you were. I haven't bought anything for Christmas either. Interested in the hamper, have you a link?

Thank you all for the continued good wishes. pointless DD does mounted games in the main, all the nutty ponies that are no good for the other disciplines are chucked over our way as it suits them down the ground Grin so she's used to coming off, especially as they vault on at speed etc. This was spectacular though!

She keeps claiming she's much better, but I am not sure if it's because she wants to ride!

orange Norfolk sounds lovely. We only buy for parents now and no siblings. Any nieces and nephews over 18 also don't get a pressie. Usually spend about £25.

Yum to jam em

fuzz Hope you are feeling a little better today.

bobbly DS1 who is 16 is a bottomless pit, it is quite astonishing what he can eat. I would keep the insurance if I were you, I speak from bitter experience of high vet bills.

needastrongone · 27/09/2015 09:40

Yesterdays spending was high as we bought DD a new riding hat for £150. Top of the range. Probably a reaction to the accident but hey ho. NOt budgeted for either.

DH is spending quite a bit on needless things, so I will rein him in a bit.

Expensive bottle of whiskey for BIL's 60th, he and DH are very close, £40.

I've menu planned after surfing the internet for new recipes and have some lovely ideas (not mine!)

Aubergine curry.
fruity pork steaks
morrocan pork mince.
carrot and fennel roast
Pasta and pesto with veggies
Gammon and egg with pineapple
Lamb curry

Last 3 just standard recipes.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 09:54

Argh wwyd frugaleers? One of the pairs of trousers I bought ds yesterday have a hole in. They were £5.99 on 3 for 2. The shop is twenty miles away and I would have to pay for parking. Would you bother taking them back?

Girlfriend36 · 27/09/2015 09:58

Morning all Smile beautiful day here, got the bedding on so can hang out in a minute. It is quite warm so not needed heaters on - bonus!

Today the plan is quiet morning and a bike ride this afternoon, spends will be minimal (perhaps a lemonade at the pub we are cycling to!)

Just watching Jeremy Corbyn on Andrew Marr and I have to say I have so far agreed with everything he says, he talks a lot of sense.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/09/2015 10:00

need its from this Italian farm website where you have ti sign up (it's free and they don't spam you) to see the order form page but here's a couple of examples. They're around £30 and look fantastic, the quality of the food is also excellent. Free delivery if you order a couple of them.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/09/2015 10:01

Sorry, the website is Fattoria La Vialla Grin

Girlfriend36 · 27/09/2015 10:01

Spotty probably not but could you post on the shops fb page with a picture of the receipt and trousers? They might send you a voucher or something.

MissA I would probably chuck, am sure shellfish is the main cause of food poisoning!!

Needa Glad your dd is feeling better Smile is her vision back to normal now?

SpottyTeacakes · 27/09/2015 10:04

Could do it h&m not sure what their service is like? I do need a few bits from town for Christmas presents but I wasn't planning on going as only went yesterday

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/09/2015 10:05

AND I just ordered three hampers, and they give 10% discount because of the exchange rate, you pay on delivery by bank transfer and I have selected the week in Dec when they will arrive. This is starting to seem too good to be true...

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 27/09/2015 10:07

spotty I'd maybe ring the manager of the shop and ask what to do, this happened to me with a jumper once when I was shopping on a day trip and I emailed her a pic of the damage and she sent me £30 vouchers in the post and a lip gloss!
